Former General Secretary of the I.E.L. C., Theologian , Egalitarian, Editor, Writer, Rotarian, Administrator, MELIM / IELC Pastor and Former Principal of the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil Rev Dr. B. H .Jackayya, B.Th, B.D M.A.R [U.S]. D.D {U.S }.---Part Final .

Rev B.H. Jackayya joined Concordia Theological Seminary as a Teaching Staff    : After having served Ambur Synod for ten years as a  MELIM Pastor  [1946--1956 ], Rev Jcakayya moved to Nagercoil  and joined at the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil as a Teaching staff in the year 1956 .  While serving in the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil  he studied and received his B.D degree from the Serampore University in 1962

Rev. B.H.Jackayya went to USA for Higher Studies :.   Rev B.H Jackayya was blessed with natural  thirst for knowledge and so he went to USA for his higher studies and joined the Concordia Theological Seminary at St Louis, Missouri State, U.S for his higher studies and received his prestigious M.A.R and D.D degrees from the USA  in the year 1966. Then he  was privileged to  work as a Professor at the Concordia Theological Seminary at St Louis, USA for some years .

Dr Jackayya was the First Indian Principal of Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil :  After having worked as Professor at the Concordia Theological Seminary  at St Louis Dr. B.H. Jackayya returned  to India and joined as a Professor  at the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil . Dr B.H Jackiah succeeded Dr. Robert .M..Zorn as the Principal of Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil in the year 1970. Dr. B.H. Jackayya worked as the first Indian Principal of Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil , for nine years [ 1970--1979]  in an enviable  manner and exemplary style. .

Rev B.H Jackayya Served as the First General Secretary of IELC    When IELC was formed in the year 1958 Dr Jackayya  assumed charge  as the  first General Secretary of the India Evangelical Lutheran Church and served IELC in that capacity for four years [1958 -- 1962]. It should be remembered that at that time,as per the newly written  IELC constitution there was no President Post for the  IELC and General Secretary was the highest Executive post  in the IELC , Dr. B. H Jackayya  carried out his responsibilities in the best interest of the IELC with great distinction and dedication

Some  Colorful feathers on his Professional career in IELC :-
Rev Dr B H Jackayya served as the  General Treasurer of IELC  : Dr .B.H Jackayya was an efficient  and honest Pastor cum  Administrator and so he was selected to serve IELC in various responsible positions one after  another. . Dr Jackayya served as the General Treasurer of the IELC from 1970  till 1972. and as  a General Treasurer of IELC  he imprinted  his indelible merit stamp on his IELC service book .

Dr B.H Jackayya Served at the Lutheran World Federation   : In recognition of Dr B.H Jackayya's  competence and uncompromising integrity he was given the honor to become a Member at the Lutheran World Federation in the year 1971 and also to serve as its  Commissioner for some years. 

Dr. B.H Jackayya was a great Writer   :  Dr. B.H Jackayya was elected as the President of Ambur District Synod's Youth Wing  in the year 1952 .and this youth wing was publishing  a Newsletter in Tamil  called Valibar Malar and .Dr. BH Jackayya   served as its editor  for some years Dr. B.H Jackayya was blessed with the flair for writing and he was a good writer  and he could write well  in Tamil, Kanada and English and specially his command over English was really laudable. His Article titled . "The Church of South India  and the Lutheran Church"  was presented at the International  Theological Conference held at US in the year 1959  and it was well appreciated  by the participants and later this Article was published in the famous magazine GUARDIAN.

Conclusion      : Dr. B.H Jackayya was a great humanist to the core .and  he was a different kind of Theologian as far as I know,  "Service to the  human-beings  is the service to God" was his theology.  He was a Social Thinker, a great Rotarian ,Social Activist,  he always did strive  to feel the presence of Almighty God in the smiles of the marginalized, helpless, homeless, street children and such other impecunious people. To serve the poor people Dr B. H Jackayya founded an NGO,  " Peoples Movement for Self Reliance[PMSR }  in 1985 in Kollegal, Chamrajnag district, Karnataka state  and it was founded by him for the Socio-Economic and health development of the marginalized community living in that area  Dr. B.H Jackayya  also founded an NGO  called . "Vidyanikethan "in the year 1988 in Kollegal with the objective to improve the lives  and livelihoods of individuals  and families especially children and women from lower income groups and underprivileged section of the society . The establishment Karunalaya  School for Special Children [ a Unit of PMSR] is also another  sign post  in the social service trajectory  of Dr, B. H Jackayya.   But  death has no eyes and it spares  nobody Dr B.H Jackayya passed away on the 28 February ,2003 .These NGOs are  well administered  by his sons Rev. Addis Arnold and Dr. Reuben Prakash and family members   Indeed he was a great Champion for the cause of the poor and  marginalized people and  Dr,B.H.Jackayya's vision of life was, " All Persons Live a Life of Wholeness with Human Dignity Worthy of Human-Being "  His magnificent life and accomplishments can not be fully accommodated and recorded within  this Article  I  salute him and end this Write-up with this sentence  " Dr B.H Jackayya served God and Man with all his strength  and sincerity" .
