A Veritable H.M of CSI Goudie High School, Thiruvallur Sri. D.J. Arulanandam, B.A,L.T, & Ms.Hilda Arulanandam and their Eminent Children - Part Final

Sri. D.J. Arulanandam was promoted as HM of Goudie High school:  After having worked for some years at the Kellett High School, Chennai,  Mr. D.J. Arulanandam  joined Goudie High School at Thiruvallur  as a graduate teacher, afterwards there was no turning back . In recognition of his dedicated service to the cause of education  and efficient administration , Mr. D.J. Arulanandam  was promoted as Head master of the Goudie High School, Thiruvallur in 1943. . He served as the Head Master of Goudie Primary School Thiruvallur, Goudie Middle School Thiruvallur and Goudie  High School Thiruvallur simultaneously. Mr. DJA firmly believed that good education would bring obvious, positive and progressive changes in the lives of the poor people who lived in and around Ikkadu and Thiruvallur in Thiruvallur district. Goudie High School, Thiruvallur  attracted students from all sections of the society specially students from poor and impecunious background. and drastically changed and improved the lives of the students and indirectly their families . Sri. D.J. Arulanandam loved all of his students and with special concern for  the poor students He served Goudie High School, Thiruvallur  with all his might and mind till his retirement in 1965.

Mr D.J. Arulanandam and Ms Hilda Ambrose Arulanandam Couple's Children   :.Sri D.J. Arulanandam and Ms Hilda Ambrose Arulandam couple gave birth to two sons and one daughter namely[1] Dr. A G.C Prabakaran,[2] Dr. A.M Prabakaaran and Ms.Dr. Shamala Florence Kimudini. It is heartening to mention here that all these three are eminently shining in their respective professional and personal life
;[1] Mr. Dr.A.G.C. Purushothaman , M.B.B.S, M.D,and  he married Dr. Lalitha Doraimanickam , M.B.B.S, This couple is blessed with two smart sons. Dr.A.G.C. Purushothaman Couple are running  their own Nursing Home in Salem called , A.G. Purushothaman Nursing Home.
[2] Mr. Dr. A.M. Prabakaran, B.E, M.E, Ph.D[ Imperial College, U.K.]and he has married Ms. Dr. Daisy Theophilus , M.B.B.S, D.C.H, Now Dr A.M. Prabakaran and wife have settled in US with their two intelligent sons It will be definitely useful to say a few words about this couple's son Mr Rajkumar  Nathaniel's daughter Ms Karishma who bagged a  prestigious Certificate signed by the US President Mr. Donald Trump  and Secretary of Education,  for her educational excellence, under President's Education Award Program [PEAP]
 
[3] Ms . Dr. Shamala Florence Kumudini,Sukumar, M.B.B.S, D.G.O and she has married Mr Dr. Edward Sukumar, M.B.B.S, M.S, M.Ch[ Liverpool University, UK ] and currently she resides with her husband  in United Kingdom.[ A separate Article will follow about this couple shortly ]

Conclusion ; Sri.D.J. Arulanandam and his beloved wife Ms Hilda Ambrose Arulanadam had been promoted to glory to meet their eternal Father . The exemplary life models , virtues, lessons they had left deserve our appreciation and review and following  .Ms Hilda Arulanandam  was really an inspiring  source of strength to  her husband Mr D.J.Arulanandam. She was a diligent, intelligent  and smart lady . She started the first English Choir in the CSI Church, Thiruvallur . In her spare time she taught mathematics to the school  boarding students and other needy students and also taught them to speak English in correct accent. She served as a Sunday School teacher also and encouraged and taught the students to memorize Bible verses and also taught the students to pray regularly both in the morning and night . She was a great disciplinarian. She took great and effective  care in the education of her three children and she was loved by her husband and children with great admiration for her adorable qualities.
Sri D.J. Arulanandam developed his own way of teaching techniques and he was loved by his colleagues and students. He was an efficacious  administrator. . In the words of his daughter Ms Dr. Shamala, Sri. DJ. Arulanandam was very humble,  was a disciplinarian, an excellent physics teacher He was a  great creative thinker . Sri D.J, Arulanandma will be remembered for the two hand written volumes of  Encyclopedia,that  he compiled. His encyclopedia covered , Space and Astronomy, Botany, Automobiles, Geography , American Folk Art, etc,., After having served the CSI Goudie High School, Thiruvallur  fora record period of  35 years as a Teacher and Head Master ; he retired from active service in 1965. . After his retirement Mr. D.J.Arulanandam with his family  moved to Chennai from Thiruvallur and then moved to Salem to live with their eldest son Dr. Purushothaman and family.. While living in Salem both Mr Arulanandam and his wife Ms Hilda died one by one and their mortal remains were interred at the CSI Church cemetery in Salem Indeed Mr. D.J. Arulanandam and Ms Hilda Arulandam  were extraordinary couple. and  down to earth human beings. They loved common and poor people and took genuine interest in the intellectual and overall development and character nourishment of poor people and students. The natives of Thiruvallur district, his students and colleagues, the buildings and campus of CSI Goudie High School, Thiruvallur and North Raja Street Thiruvallur  will remember Sri D.J Arulanandam and Ms Hilda Arulanandam  for very long period of time with grateful heart.

Sri. D.J. Arulanadam's wedding with Ms. Hilda Ambrose  :  While Mr. D.J. Arulanandam  was working as a Physics teacher at the Kellett High School, Madras [Chennai], as mentioned earlier his colleague Mr Sathya introduced Hilda's father Sri .J.T.Amrose of Nagercoil  to Mr. Arulnandam and initiated Mr. D.J Arulanandam's  marriage proposal with Ms.Hilda Ambrose. As Mr.D.J. Arulandam and Ms. Hilda Ambrose mutually and spontaneously liked each other and agreed to become life partners, and subsequently the wedding of Mr.D.J .Arulanandam, B.A, LT [bride groom ] with Ms. Hilda Ambrose , B.A, L.T  [bride] was solemnized with the blessings of their respective parents in May, 1940 at St Paul's ,Church, Vepery, Madras

Mrs. Hilda Ambrose' Parents and family   :  Ms Hilda Ambrose hailed from one of the illustrious Christian families of Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu and  South India. . Many many decades ago there lived a gentleman by name Mr. A.Joseph  and he was leading a happy conjugal life with his smart and cute wife Ms. Marthal Fanny. [ Ms. Mathal Fanny was a sister of Church Historian Mr..C.M. Agur's mother Ms. Esther Fanny Masilamani ].Mr A.Joseph and Ms Marthal fanny Joseph couple begot nine children namely :-[1]Mr J. Jonadab, [2] Mr..J.T. Ambrose, [3] Mr. J. Robert, [4] Mr.J. Joshua, [5] Ms.Lysa [6] Mr. A.J. Schaffter,[ Maternal grandpa of the great musician singer and composer Dr. Anand Chellappa] [7] Ms.Packiam ,[8] Ms. Mutha and [9] Ms Sogusa.

Sri. J.T. Ambrose  married Ms.Louisa Zachariah [She was a daughter of Zachariah Writer and sister of Ms. Arulamal Schaffter.]. I was told by Sri. J.T. Ambrose's daughter Ms. Hilda's daughter Ms Dr. Shamala Sukumar, M.B.B.S, D.G.O, [U K ] that her maternal grand-parents Mr.J.T. Ambrose and Ms Louisa Zacharia Ambrose couple gave birth sixteen children and out of the sixteen only seven children's names are traceable now. and they are : [1] Ms. Dhaya Manuel [ Mother of the outstanding Pianist Padma Sri. Handel Manuel ],[2] Mr. Dhanaraj, [ He married Ms Patience d/o Mr Moses Devadasan and sister of D.M Devasahaym[DMD]. [3] Mr. Mahimaidas Victor, [4] Ms Kamala Das ,[5 ] Ms Dorathy ,[6]Mr. Dhana Singh, and [7 ] Ms. Hilda Ambrose Arulanandam [ The Heroine of this Article }. 

Ms. Hilda Ambrose Arulandam's Educational and professional Trajectory;  Ms. Hilda was a brilliant student since early childhood. Ms. Hilda did her school education at the Ewart High School, Madras [ Chennai] and she did her B.A[ Maths] at the famous Women's Christian College, Madras and then did her L.T course at a Training College in Madras[ probably at the  Christopher's College of Education, Chennai ].\. After her LT course she worked  as a High School teacher at the Ewart High School  Madras and  she left the job after three or four months from her wedding day. Since then  she had been functioning as a  successful brilliant home maker..

Introduction :   A former veritable Head Master of the then CSI  Goudie High School at Thiruvallur [ now it has been upgraded as Higher Secondary School ] Sri. D.J. Arulanandam , B.A, L.T, was a versatile and a multifaceted  personality  He was an efficacious teacher, unassuming achiever, great administrator, scientific thinker, he rubbed shoulders with all sections of the society with friendship, and a compassionate human being. His wife Ms. Hilda Arulanandam hailed from one of the illustrious Christian and music families of Tamil Nadu and South India .  Definitely his profile will last as a lasting milestone in the social, religious, educational and intellectual history of  Thiruvallur district and Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Arulanandam's Birth and Parents;  During the early years of twentieth century, a Methodist Catechist by name Mr. Davamani was living with his beloved wife Ms.Sudamani Davamani in a hamlet near Ikkadu.. And the tiny pretty hamlet Ikkadu is located at 5 kilo meters away from the Thiruvaluur town and 49 kms from, Chennai . And this lovely couple apart from other children gave birth to a male child on  30th December , 1907, and this couple christened this male child , Arulanandam

Mr. Arulanandam's Siblings : Catechist Mr Davamani and Ms Sudamani Davamani couple gave birth to the following children namely : [1] A son who died at an very early age, [2] Mr. D.J. Arulanandam [The hero of this Article ], [3]  Mr. Thomas, [4] Ms. Vadivu [unmarried]. [5] Ms. Mary [ Teacher]  Unfortunately D.J. Arulanandam's mother Sudamani died when he was 7 years old and so Mr Davamani remarried another woman and by this second marriage Mr Davamani got two more sons and one daughter namely: [1] . His Education                :                                                                                                                   Mr.D.J. Arulanandam had been a studious and intelligent student since his Primary school days. He pursued his primary school education as a boarder in a Methodist Boarding School/Home, located near Thiruvallur  and did his middle school and high school education at Goudi High School , Thiruvallur and at Kellett High School, Triplicane, Chennai. Mr D.J.Arulanandam  completed his school education with flying colors.. Then he pursued his collegiate education at the famous Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Madras and passed his B,A{Physics ] with flying colors . Then he pursued his LT course at a Teachers Training College in Madras and finished his LT meritoriously. Sri. D.J Arulnandam was helped and encouraged in his education by Methodist Missionaries like Mr.Folger ,Mr. Pettet and a few others.

His Professional Career : After having meritoriously passed his B.A, and  LT examinations, he joined as a High School Teacher with the famous Kellet High School , Vepery in Chennai . During that period one Mr. Sathya was working as a teacher with him in the same school. . Mr , Sathya introduced Mr.DJ Arulanadam to his future life partner's father Mr .Joseph Tytler Ambrose. of Nagercoil.

Former Medical Superintendent of Christian Mission Hospital Madurai Late Dr. E.S.Chellappa , MBBS, FRCS [Ed-UK] and Ms Mercy Sonabai Chellappa

Introduction; Former Medical Superintendent of Christian Mission Hospital , Madurai Dr. Ebenezer Sunderraj Chellappa , M.B.B.S ,F.R.C.S[Ed-UK] was really an outstanding and service minded  medical doctor, patriot and   compassionate human-being.  He hailed from an illustrious family from Tanjore region .. His profile will be an inspiration to his fellow medical doctors  of the present day to serve the sick and ailing people with love, dedication  and spirit of service .He was a remarkable, colorful and multifaceted  personalty and  his service oriented life has become an indelible milestone in the social religious and medical history of Tamil Nadu and India


 
             
                                                                   
Dr.Ebenezer S. Chellppa and his Wife Ms. Mercy Sonabai

Parents and Birth of Dr. Ebenezer S. Chellappa: Dr.Ebenezer.Sunderraj Chellappa was a scion of an illustrious christian family from Chola Vazha Nadu. Many decades ago there lived  an influential and wealthy man by name Sri Malayaperuman in Tanjore district  and he was led to Christ by the great Missionary Rev. Christian Schwartz Frederic. Sri Malayaperuman's  great grandson Mr David Pillai  worked as a Munsiff  under East India Company initially and subsequently he became a Tutor to the King Serffoji second of Tanjore kingdom and later got the  privilege  to serve as Legal Advisor to the Maharaja Serffoji  IInd of Tanjore Kingdom. Sri David Pillai's daughter Ms Elizabeth was married to Advocate Mr Daniel Chellappa  who later became a Justice in the Madras High Court.This blessed couple Mr. Justice Daniel Chellappa and Ms Elizabeth Daniel Chellappa gave birth to Dr. Ebenezer Sunderaraj Chellappa on 16th September 1908.

Dr. E.S Chellappa's Siblings:  Justice Daniel Chellappa and Ms Elizabeth Daniel Chellappa gave birth to the following children_;[1] Ms.Pappa ,[2]Dr. David Chellappa , [3] Dr.Ebenezer Sunderraj Chellappa ,[4]Ms Grace  [5] Mr.Jeya ,[6] Mr. Theophelus,[7] Dr. George Chellappa,and [8] Ms.Chandra Leena .  Mr.David Chellappa pursued theological education and  became the first Indian Bishop of Madras CSI Diocese in1955.. Mr Ebenezer Sunderraj  Chellappa [he is the hero of this Article] And Mr George Chellappa did his PhD in agriculture and became a famous agriculture Scientist.

Dr. ES Chellappa's marriage :  Long time ago in Nagercoil there lived a God fearing smart man by name Mr Joseph Munshi and he married Ms Marthal Fanny a  daughter of the first deacon of the Home Church Nagercoil Mr. Daniel Paramanandam. . Ms Marthal Fanny .Mr Joseph Munshi couple were blessed with nine children including Mr.A.J. Schaffter the father-in-law of Dr. Ebenezer Sunderraj Chellappa . Mr A.J.Schaffter married  Zachariah writer's daughter Ms Arulammal .Mr Schaffter's brother J.T. Ambrose married Ms Arulamma's sister Ms Lois . Mr Schaffter and Ms Arulamma Schaffter couple gave birth to Ms Mercy Sonabai .on 14th July 1911.  Ms Mercy Sonabai was the only child of Mr AJ Schaffter and Ms Arulamma Schaffter, In line with the saying that  marriages are determined in heaven, Dr Ebenezer Sunderraj Chellappa married Ms Mercy Sonabai.and God blessed this couple with all the conjugal bliss. 

Ms Mercy Sonabai Chellappa : Ms Mercy Sonabai Chellappa, BA,BT was a cute and smart  lady. She hailed from an illustrious and great musical christian family in Nagercoil. The great Pianist Padma Shri Handel Manuel and world famous Classical Pianist and Classical  Piano Professor Ms Sheila Arnald  are closely related to Ms Mercy Sonabai .  She was a great teacher educationist, administrator , and she had  a colorful family and public life. Ms Sonabai Chellappa  had the privilege to serve as a First Class Magistrate in the Indian Railways. She efficaciously worked as Correspondent of the famous CSI Capron Hall Girls  High School , Madurai. She had the distinction of serving as Correspondent of Manamadurai CSI Deaf and Dump School She stood with her husband as a supporter in all seasons and she was a good homemaker and she took special interest to provide best education to their children and she played a colorful role in the church activities also. Mercy Sonabai Chellappa  died on 16 October 1977.  

Dr. Chellappa's education ; In tune with his cherished educational goal Dr. Chellappa did his MBBS  then pursued his higher education in England and got his prestigious FRCS degree from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.UK.

Dr. E.S.Chellappa's  Children : Dr. Ebenezer S Chellappa and Ms Mercy Sonabai Chellappa couple gave birth to the following children :-[1].Mrs.Dr.Grace Sathiavathy,M.B.B.S,D.G.O,F.R.C.S[Ed-UK][2] Dr Christanad Arul Bharathi Chellappa [ The Composer and Singer of the popular christian songs like  Athikalaiyil Balanai Thadi, etc], [3]   Dr. Yesu Mithran,Chellappa,M.B.B.S [4]  Er Paul Chithran Chellapa and [5] Ms Esther Punithavathy. Currently majority of Dr, Chellappa and Sonabai Chellappa couple's children are living in US. with their families and all of them are doing very well in life

Dr. E.S. Chellppa's Professional Career: Dr.Ebenezer Sunderraj Chellappa had a colorful and meaningful professional medical career. He worked as Chief Medical Officer in Manamadurai CSI Mission  Leprosy Hospital, Dhayapuram  with great distinction for many years.He also worked as Chief Medical Superintendent at the Christian Mission Hospital , Madurai for 33 years[ 1934 --1967 ]. . In 1967 Dr. ES Chellappa was transferred to CSI Mission Hospital at Ramanad ,so  he resigned his job in 1967. And thus his long career link  with the CSi Mission hospital, Madurai  came to an end. in the year 1967, As a medical doctor he rendered his medical service to the sick and ailing people with great love, care and concern and won the hearts of the people..

Dr. Ebenezer Chellappa had the privilege of attending many national  and international medical conferences to cite few, he attended the international medical conference held at Sanfransisco, Venice, Tokyo, Singapore, Zambia and so on. He was an efficacious surgeon . While he was in Zambia a local doctor was seriously injured and Dr. Chellappa operated him successfully and this news was published in Zambian Mail with great praise.While he was in Tokyo , a local Minister was attacked by sudden heart attack and his heart stopped , Dr. Ebenezer Sunderraj Chellappa pumped the heart of the local Japanese Minister and saved him.  thus by his timely medical service he had saved many valuable human lives 

Conclusion : Even after his retirement he got many invitations from some foreign countries , but he chose Zambia among the countries and went there and worked for a few years among the poor people of Zambia without any money motive as a good christian doctor. during his old age after his retirement  he went to US and stayed with his son Dr. Anand Chellappa for some months and then he returned to Madurai and spent his old age in Madurai and died on.29-5-1982. and was buried inside the CSI cemetery , Pasumalai, Madurai by the side of his wife Ms. mercy Sonabai's tomb. He was really a great medical doctor, christian and man

Introduction:   Former Joint Secretary , Government of Tamil Nadu Sri Sivaji Kingston Phillips is one of the famous Bonsai Masters  in India today and as a Bonsai Master his name and fame has crossed the  borders of India .  For the last thirty years he has been playing a remarkable role in promoting Bonsai Cultivation in Madras city, Tamil Nadu and India.  He is a lover of plants and flora . His Birth and Parents and Siblings:Some decades ago there lived  a lovely couple in Nagercoil, KK Dist, Tamil Nadu by name Mr. Kingston Philips and  Ms.Anbaiyee Kingston Philips and this couple gave birth to six children. And Bonsai master Sri Sivaji Kingston is the first born child to Mr.Kingston and Ms.Anbaiyee couple Now out of this five siblings Ms.Dhana Leela Alex Chandra and and Mr. Alagappan had already been promoted to glory and out of the rest  excluding Mr. Sivaji K Philips the following   three namely Mr Chandran Philips Retd JTO, BSNL , Mr Ananda  Mohan.Rtd Deputy General Manager, Madras Air Port and Mrs. Caroline Asha Jeyanthi Shanmugam alias. Gayatri [ USA] are happily living with their families in different parts of the world.

Education of Sri  Sivaji  Kingston Phillips : Mr. Sivaj Kingston successfully completed his school studies at the famous Scott Christian High School, Nagercoil and after having successfully completed his school education he continued his PUC and BSc[Botany]  at the  prestigious Scott Christian College , Nagercoil , Later he  studied at the famous Madras law College and Annamalai University .

His Government service:  After his BSc  young Sivaji by clearing Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission examination  joined the Secretariat at Madras/Chennai  and after a long period of government service he retied as Joint Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Bonsai Master Sri Sivaji Kingston Phillips: Mr Sivaji Kingston is a lover of plants and there is no wonder his heart spontaneously inclined towards Bonsai cultivation .Bonsai literally means a miniature tree or shrub in a shallow pit. Mr. Sivaji Kingston has mastered the art of Bonsai cultivation from internationally famous Bonsai masters such as Mr. Jyoti, Nikung Parekh, Dr. Prasad, Mr Ponnusamy ,Mr Jagjeet Bhindara Mr. Vinh of Vietnam and some more such others by attending classes and workshops conducted by them .. Sri Sivaji has conducted many Bonsai exhibitions and workshops  in many cities like Mumbai, Baroda, Bhopal, Ahmadabad, Lucknow, Mysore etc.He has been conducting Bonsai classes for school and college students for many years.He has given many TV programs in popular TV channels like NDTV, Pothigai TV, Raj TV, Thanthi Tv etc. Mr. K.Sivaji's Bonsai photographs  have been published by many journals and souvenirs published by Bonsai Clubs , news papers like  The Hindu,  Tamil Magazines and Nichin [ The only Bonsai Magazine in India] and these journals have also written about Bonsai master Sri K.Sivaji..

Sivaji Bonsai: Sivaji Bonsai was started as a small visionary venture by K. Sivaji an his wife Ms. Fortune Eben Leelavathy [ Former Additional Inspector General of registration, Govt of Tamil Nadu ] to educate the residents of Chennai and school and college students about the art of Bonsai.

Honors In recognition of Sri k. Sivaji's  enviable service and contribution to the art of Bonsai he was awarded Honorary Membership by the Indian Bonsai Society, Mumbai in 2014.  Only a very few foreign and Indian Bonsai masters have been given this rare honor

Conclusion: Sri. K. Sivaji is one of the dedicated , creative and well known Bonsai Masters in India .He has been in this field of Bonsai for more than 30 years . He lives in Velacheri, Chennai . Sivaji Bonsai in Chennai is one of the top Bonsai Plant dealers in Chennai . He has served as the President of Chennai Bonsai Exotico and had conducted workshop jointly with Tamil Nadu Council  for Enterprise Development [TACED] .  So long as Bonsai  is appreciated he too will be remembered . Ms Grace Margaret's siblings are namely [1] Mr. K.S Swaminathan, B.A, L.T, He worked as Head Master of Union Christian High School, Madurai  and later he worked as Head-Master of the famous Fabricious High School, Purasawalkam, Chennai  and also  served as  Corporation  ward Councilor of Chennai.corporation for one term . Sri. KS Swaminathan's daughter Ms. Suseela Augustine's son Mr.Meher,M.Arch is an established, innovative and creative Architect in Chennai ,[2] Mr. K.S. Dr.Sebastian Rajasekaran's Marriage and Children : Dr. Sebastian Rajasekaran married his maternal uncle Mr K.S. Israel's daughter Ms. Vilochini, B.A, M.Ed and this lovely couple is blessed with the following children [1]Ms. Rachel , MSW, Ph.D and she did her MSW at the Stella Mary's College, Chennai and her Ph.D at the famous Bishop Heber College, Trichy and [2 and his son ]Mr Beril, M.B.A.and he is married and well settled in life.

Dr. Sebastian Rajasekaran's Professional Career:  In the year 1983 Sri. Sebastian Rajasekaran joined as PG Assistant with the Thiagaraja Model Higher Secondary School, Madurai and worked in the same post for two years . Then  he joined the Bishop Heber College, Trichy as Assistant Professor in the Botany department of the College. Afterwards there was no turning back  .After some years he was promoted as Associate Professor of Botany, Bishop Heber College, Trichy and then he was promoted as the Vice Principal of  Bishop Heber College, Trichy and he retired from service in the year 2015. He was an efficacious teacher and research guide and he had guided number of PhD research students such as Dr. Vijayan.A, Dr. V. Anand Gideon, and some others.. His sincere and efficacious service for the cause of education and for the development of Bishop Heber College as one of the premier educational institutions  in  the country will be remembered for long time .

Rev. J. Isaac Moon's Theological Education : After securing his Masters degree in philosophy from Madras University; in tune with his cherished flair and goal Rev.J. Isaac Moon joined the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil and did his one year Catechist course[ 1970--1971].. After having successfully completed his catechist course he joined the internationally famous United Theological College [ U.T.C ],  in 1972 and pursued his B.D degree course. He successfully passed his B.D degree in the year 1976.

His marriage and wife: Rev. J. Isaac Moon, married Dr. Ramola Premalatha, M. Com, Ph.D, a daughter of Mr Jeyaseelan of Vellore and Ms. S.Saroja of Nagercoil. Mrs Dr. Ramola Moon is serving as Professor of Commerce and HOD at the VIT, Vellore. . It will be highly useful and pertinent to say a few lines about Mrs. S. Saroja's family. She is a  granddaughter of Rev. G. Jesudasan the first ordained Indian pastor of MELIM [ IELC}and daughter Sri. J. Samraj, B.A,L.T . Mrs Saroja's mother Ms Joyce Samraj was a daughter of the famous UPASI Isaac Moses of Nagercoil . Ms Joyce Samraj was a direct descendant of the great Mylaudy Maharasan Vethamanickam ,and it is good to remember here that  Maharasan Vethamonickam was a co- founder/Planter of Protestant Christianity in South Travancore, along with the pioneer LMS missionary Rev. Ringel Taube [1806]

Rev.J. Isaac Moon's Children:.Rev. J. Isaac Moon and Mrs Ramola Moon couple has been blessed with one son and three daughters namely :[1] Mr.I. Abraham Milton, B.E, [currently he is working in Cognizant, Chennai ]. [2] Ms.I. Elizabeth Rebecca, B.Tech,[working in Accenture, Chennai ], [3] Ms.I. Joyce Sarah, B. Tech [she is working in Accenture, Chennai ], and [4]Ms. I. Roseline Stephanie, MA, M.Phil [ currently she is working as  Assistant Professor of English , at the Auxilium College , Self financing, Vellore].

His Ministry in IELC:  Rev.J. Isaac  Moon inherited the evangelical spirit from his father Rev.P. Jesudassan and  Rev. P Jesudassan was a role model for his son Rev. J. Moon . Rev Isaac Moon's ministerial, missionary and evangelical  work was done through Christ Lutheran Church , Vellore . He meritoriously served as an  IELC Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church Vellore for a long period of time since 1976 till he retired in 2013. Rev. Moon took special interest in Diaspora ministry also. . I was told by Rev. Isaac Moon's son Mr Abraham Milton ,that Rev Isaac Moon was privileged to lead more than two thousand people to the fold of Christianity [IELC] In 1986 Rev. Isaac Moon was elected as the President of India Evangelical Lutheran Church [IELC]  Of course he did meet many challenges while serving as the President of IELC, but he boldly met all challenges with his mental grit and by the power of prayer.

Conclusion :  Rev Isaaac Moon was an unassuming person and pastor.  He was an eloquent and convincing speaker both in Tamil and English. He had the privilege to visit many foreign countries namely; US, England, Switzerland Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Brazil, Germany , France and some other countries.  He had the rare privilege to serve as member of the National Christian Council and UELCI. He was loved by his congregational members, fellow citizens, fellow pastors, and specially by his wife and children . Rev. J. Isaac Moon  was a great prayer warrior . However unexpectedly he got the heavenly call while he was driving his two wheeler and he breathed his final and last worldly breath on 14th April ,2019. His funeral service was attended by a large sea of people , It is estimated nearly three thousand people attended his funeral service and funeral march towards the cemetery., and paid their last respect to Rev. J. Isaac Moon . He was a soft spoken person and unassuming but did great things for the cause of God and man through his relentless missionary service and prayer

Introduction : Former President of India Evangelical Lutheran Church Rev. J. Isaac Moon was a remarkable personality with multifaceted talents  and he was a true Christian believer and he is no more and some days back he was promoted to glory to meet his savior God. IELC originally entered  and started its evangelical and missionary work in India under the nomenclature, Missouri Evangelical Lutheran India Mission in in 1895. and in tune with the historical necessity,  it changed its name as India Evangelical Lutheran Mission in 1959. At present there are nearly 114600 baptized members with 120 active IELC pastors.  IELC's primary goal was/is/ to speak about the grace of God to the people MELIM was a spiritual and brain child of LCMS. Like other Christian missions, IELC also has been doing spectacular work for the spiritual , social and educational and cultural  development  of its members. . Among the former Presidents of IELC , Sri Rev. J. Isaac Moon did play a notable and outstanding part for the the cause of IELC and its members. Definitely his life a was  a brilliant  milestone in the religious , educational and social history of Tamil Nadu and South India

His birth and parents:  Some time ago there lived a blessed couple in North Arcot district, Tamil Nadu  by name Rev. P. Jesudassan and  Mrs Rebecca Jesudassan and this lovely couple  gave birth to seven lovely daughters and two sons .Rev J. Isaac Moon was born to this couple on 16th August , 1948 .  Rev. P. Jesudassan was one of the pioneer MELIM [IELC] pastors in the northern Tamilnadu area.. Rev .P.Jesudassan was a pioneering catechist and his evangelical work was mainly based around  a tiny beautiful village called THUTHIPET and he also established 20 congregations along the banks of river Palar

Isaac Moon's parents gave birth to the following children namely [1]Mrs. Dr. J.Suguna, M.B.B.S, D.C.H [ She formerly worked as the Medical Superintendent at the famous Scudder Memorial Hospital at Ranipet her husband Dr. Chandrasekar was a former National Vice President of FMPB, India],[2]. Ms. Prof. J.Sakunthala [ she formerly worked as a Professor of Chemistry, at the famous Lady Doak College, Madurai ], [3] Mr. Milton [ unfortunately he was drowned in a lake while swimming ], [4] Ms.Prof.J. He Wrote Civil Service Examination  and  was Provisionally Selected for IPS: Sri. C Thamotharan after having passed his MSc, wrote the Central Civil Service  Group I Examination  conducted by the Union  Public Service Commission and was provisionally selected for the prestigious IPS cadre but due to lack of required height he could not join the IPS service in the Government of India. However as he has already cleared the banking recruitment examination he joined as a clerk in the Indian Bank and served in the bank during the  year 1976 nearly for a year

UPSC selected him for the post of Assistant Security Officer in Railway Protection Force:: As he met  the minimum height requirement  for Assistant Security Officer post in the Railway Protection Force the Union Public Service Commission selected him for the post of Assistant Security Officer in the Indian Railway Protection Force  and sent him an appointment letter . So  he joined the Railway Protection Force as Assistant Security Officer in the year 1978, since then there was no turning back . Step by step he was getting promotions to next higher echelon.

His Marriage , Wife and Children:  .Mr. C. Thamoatharan married his father's sister's daughter Ms. Poongothai and Mrs Poongothai Thamotharan and Mr. C. Thamotharan couple is blessed with two sons namely Mr.T.. Sethuraman, MBA and Mr.T. Jegajeevan.  Mr. Sethuraman is working with Wipro in the Advertising section and Mr Sethueaman's wife Ms. Soumya , B.E is from Kerala . Mr. T. Jegajeevan , B.E is successfully  running a Coaching Centre for NEET examination in Chennai.

Trajectory of his Professional Career in the Railway Protection Force:. Mr. C. Thamotharan started his professional career with the Indian Railway Protection Force as Assistant Security Officer in 1978 and afterwards there was no turning back.  After  completing his probation period successfully he joined at  his duty at Jansi in 1980.and he was transferred  to the followiing places namely,  Sholapur , and Jabalpur in the same cadre . In 1983 he was promoted as Railway Divisional Security Officer and posted at Lucknow  in the same official cadre; he worked at Samasthpur, Secandrabad, Chakratherpur, Palakad [kerala] and Chennai . While he was serving in Chennai he was promoted as Joint Director and transferred to the Railway Board in Delhi . In the Railway Board he was in charge of Policy making matters,  Parliamentary Questions, Matters connected with State Central Security matters etc . In the Railway Board Office he worked nearly for four and a half years with great distinction [1998-2003].

Mr.C.Thamotharan was promoted as Chief Security Commissioner. Sri. C. Thamotharan was promoted as Chief Security Commissioner in 2002 and transferred to Jaipur , North Western Railway [ Oct 2002 - July 2005] Then he was transferred to Huballi, karnataka State and he worked there till 2009 . In 2009 he was transferred to ICF , Chennai here he efficaciously worked as DIG cum Chief Security Commissioner for nearly one year [ 2009- 2010]. In 2010 he was promoted as Inspector General cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner and posted at Gorakpur, UP From 2010 to 2013 he was working as IG cum Principal Chief Security Commissioner with great efficiency and dedication and retired from service in the rank of Joint Secretary, Government of India on  31st January , 2013.

Some prestigious Awards Won By Him :  He was very honest and efficient in discharging his official duties so many  prestigious awards automatically  reached him  He learned Hindi  language and became an expert in writing speaking and writing  in Hindi  and his proficiency in Hindi was recognized and  he was awarded Proficiency Award by the Railway Board. He also received the Indian Police Medal for meritorious service in  the Award was signed by the then President of India  Hon.Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam .

He has served as Selection and Recruitment Board Member and Chairman on many occasions: He had served as Member and Chairman of the Railway Selection Committee for selecting railway Constables, , Sub Inspectors, Inspectors [ prosecution] both in Zonal and All India Level ..

Conclusion : Sri. C. Thamotharan was one of the smart and honest officers of Indian Protection Force. he is a very simple man with very high ideals. After his retirement he is living in his native village called Kannanpudr in Thovalai Tataluk with his wife.  he is an analytical thinker and a talented singer. he loves music now after his retirement he is learning Carnatic music systematically under a music teacher..He loves nature and his village is surrounded by  paddy fields and ponds. Now he leads a calm composed and content life .  Some are born great and some achieve greatness and definitely he has become great by achieving greatness. His life is definitely an inspiring model to the students who come from  rural background , on many account he can be counted  with respect. This writer respects Sri. C. Honest, Efficient and Bold Retired Principal Chief Security Commissioner cum IG of Railway Protection Force Sri. C. Thamotharan, M.Sc[Physics]- Part A.

Introduction:. Former Principal Chief Security Commissioner cum Inspector General of Railway Protection Force Sri. C. Thamotharan,,M.Sc [Physics], after having served in the Railway Protection Force from August 1972 to 31st January 2014, retired from Government service in the rank of Joint Secretary, Government of India on 31st January 2013 . He was born  as a son of a school teacher in a lower middle class family, but by his sharp intelligence , perseverance and hard work he reached great heights in his professional career. He served in the Railway Protection Force Department, Indian Railways, without fear or favor and won the hearts and respect of his colleagues, superior officers including Railway Board Members and the general public and  as a corollary many significant awards reached his cap. Definitely his profile will be a model and motivating force for the  youth, police , security personnel, and public servants No doubt  he is a colorful milestone in the educational, social, economic and developmental history of Kanyakumari District , Tamil Nadu and  India.

Chellaih,M.A[ Tamil] a native of Kannanpudur [located near Chenbagaramanpudur ] married a beautiful young woman by name Ms. Muthammal Dharma Bai from Andithoppu, Boothapandi and to this lovely couple Sri..C. Thamotharan was born on 20th January 1953 at Kannanpudurr in Nanjilnadu, KK Dist . Sri. D. Chelliah was a brilliant man . He did his BA at the famous University College , Trivandrum and his MA [Tamil] at the prestigious ST Hindu College, Nagercoil . After having passed his MA Mr. D,Chellaih  started his teaching career in the School Education Department , Travancore Cochin Government and after the  amalgamation of KK dist with Tamil Nadu he automatically continued his teaching career in the School Education Department of Tamil Nadu Govt . Even though  initially he faced some difficulties he continued his teaching profession and  while  he was working as  PG Assistant {Tamil ] at the Sir C.P Ramaswamy Memorial Higher Secondary.School at Boothapandi  he retired  from active service ,in the year 1984.

His Siblings and families:  Three male children were born to  Mr. D. Chelliah and Ms. Muthammal Dharma Bai Chelliah couple , namely [1] Mr.C.S.S/ Bharathi , [2]Mr. Mano Sentheeswaran ,and [2] Mr. C. Thamotharan . Mr. C.S.S. Bharathi worked with the Doordharshan, Govt of India and retired while he was working as Producer with the Pothigai Channel of Doordharshan Mr. Mano Sentheeswaran is working in Qatar as production engineer. All the brothers are married and well settled in life.

Mr. C. Thamotharan's Educational trajectory ; Young C. Thamotharan pursued his first and second standards   at the then Government Primary School at Sambavar Vadakarai  village[1957-1958] in Tirunelveli Dist, and did his 3rd and 4th standards at the Lutheran Primary School at Chenbaga Ramanputhur, It is interesting to remember here the coincidental  fact that his father Mr. D. Chelliah also studied in this school long ago. . Mr. C.Thamotharan did his 6th and 7th standards at the Government School , at Thuckalay and from  8th std to 11th standard he did at the Sir. C.P Memorial High School at Boothapandi. and  passed his SSLC in 1968.
Mr. C. Thamotharan did his PUC  at the famous Scott Christian College , Nagercoil [1968-1969].. His Parents and Birth: Mr. Moses Rajakumar's parents Mr. Selvadhas and Ms. Packia Bai Selvadhas were natives of Kanyakumari District. and Er. Moses Rajakumar was born to his parents on 10th May , 1965, at Nagercoil, Kanyakumari Dist. His father Mr. Selvadhas was an enterprising person and is no more with us .

His Siblings Mr. Moses Rajakumar's siblings are :[1] Mr. Sam Selvakumar [ he now serves as the Second Engineer in a ship and he is married to Ms. Sheba Catherine], [2] Ms Mary Selvadhas [ she serves as a  Colonel in the Indian Military Nursing Service . and her husband is a business man],. [3]Mr. Sathish Kumar [ his wife's name is Ms. Savitha and she works as a high School Zoology Teacher  in a prestigious High School in Bangalore . All of  Mr. Moses Rajakumar's  siblings are married and well settled in life.

His wife and her profession :  Er. S. Moses Rajakumar has married Er. Ms Sumitha , B.E, M. Tech, { Daughter of  Er. Stephen Paul, B.E, and Ms Mabel Stephen Paul B.A] .Currently Mrs.Sumitha Rajakumar is working as an Associate Professor[Civil] at the Government College of Engineering in, Trivandrum . She is also pursuing her Ph.D

Er. S. Moses Rajakumar's Educational Career: Moses Rajakumar  did his primary School education at the Govt Primary School at krishnancoil, Nagercoil and his High School education at Scott Christian High School, Nagercoil[ 6th and 7th standards ] and Govt Model High School, Trivandrum and he passed his SSLC examination in the year 1980.He did his Pre-degree at the famous Mar Ivanous College, Trivandrum and pursued his B.Tech at the famous Government College of Engineering in Trivandrum[1983-1988].  and he successfully completed his B.Tech in the year 1988. He pursued his MBA during the years 2011-2013 and meritoriously passed his MBA in the year 2013.

His Professional career : After having passed his B.Tech he joined the Kerala State Electricity Board, Govt of Kerala as an Assistant Engineer in the year 1990 and afterwards there was no turning back . By his dedicated and efficacious work he was getting regular job promotions one after another  ; he was promoted as Assistant Executive Engineer then  Executive Engineer and so on . In the year 2014 he was promoted as Deputy Chief Engineer and he took charge as Deputy Chief Engineer at Kannur and worked in that capacity in that region for 4 years in a devoted manner  With dutiful enthusiasm he addressed the problem of the public related to the distribution and restoration of electricity in rural, hilly and remote areas around Kannur.. Now he is working as  Deputy Chief Engineer [KSEB] of the Trivandrum rural region and within no time he has won the respect and love of the local and rural public by his corruption free attitude and helping mentality. . No doubt the post of Chief Engineer of Kerala State Electricity Board will reach him shortly

Conclusion : We can say Er. Moses Raja Kumar is a people's engineer. Service to the people is his goal , It will be really pertinent to mention precisely about the service rendered by him and his team of workers from Kerala in and around the Kaja cyclone affected Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu recently..  Govt of Kerala sent a team of workers from the Kerala State Electricity Board under the leadership of Deputy Chief Engineer Mr Moses Rajakumar to the Kaja cyclone affected Pudukottai District  to restore electricity supply. Sri.  Moses Rajakumar worked in the affected area as a KSEB  worker along with his team of KSEB workers and restored the  power lines along Pudukottai - Gandharvakottai road braving intermittent and devastating rain within a week's  time. Tamil Nadu Ministers Sri. C. Vijayakumar Basker, Sri M.R.Vijayabhaskar and Sri. P Balakrishna Reddy appreciated the marvelous job done by the team head by Moses Rajakumar in restoring electrical power supply in Gandarvakottai area in Pudukottai District. The accomplishment of the KSEB staff was praised by the famous English News paper the Hindu[ The Hindu, Trichy, dated 24 November ,2018]

His father late Mr Selvadhas and his mother  Ms. Packia Bai played significant  role to make him as what he is today . Definitely his efficacy, dedication to work , corruption free attitude  will  plant many more feathers on his colorful cap. He with great gratitude remembers his mother's sisters  Mrs, Saroja Joel Singh, Mrs. Kasthuri  Chandra and his late cousin Kishore for the financial help rendered by them to meet his educational expenses. . We can definitely call Mr Moses Rajakumar as People's engineer. Really he is greater than what people estimate about him. and he is a role model Government engineer. His profile will be an inspiration  and model to the youth, students and  Government  servants.of all ranks.
