Mr. N. Philip's Wife Ms Gnana Dhayamani and her family : Long time ago in Charles Miller street, Nagercoil, a gentleman by name Mr Vedamonickam was living with his lovely wife Ms Selvam Vedamonicakm and Mr N. Philip married Ms Gnana Dhayamani, daughter of Mr Veda Monickam and Ms Selvam Monickam couple . It would be really interesting and useful to record some lines about the family background of Ms Dhayamani Philip, in the interest of the readers and micro historians, Mr Vedamonicakam's father Mr John was a native of the famous Osaravilai village and as the LMS missionary Rev Charles Mead gave 8 cents of land in Charles Miller street in Nagercoil, to Mr . John, Mr. John shifted to Nagercoil . Mr John hailed from a pioneer and illustrious Christian family of South Travancore. Ms Gnana Dhayamani's mother Ms.Selvam Vedamonickam was a scion of the famous landlord Mr Vellamadathu Ananchan's family and daughter of Vellamadathu Ananchan's son Mr Gnanakan and Ms Packiam Gnanakan

Mr N. Philip and Ms Dhayamani Philip Couple's Children ; Mr N. Philip and Ms Gnana Dhayamani Philip Couple gave birth to the following children namely :-[1] Dr. P. Noel Kannan, B.D.S, and he is well known as a Pigeon fancier throughout India ; and he married Ms Prema kannan, M.Sc and Dr .P. Noel kannan and Ms Prema Kannan couple is blessed with two children namely;-[a] Mr Kirubahar Philip and [b] Ms Meera , [2] Ms.P. Parimala Suriya , B.Sc, B.Ed and she was married to Dr Gandhi, MBBS, [3] Ms.P. Usha Devi, MA and she was married to Dr.krishnamurthy, MBBS and this couple is blessed with one daughter namely Ms Dhivya ,and [4] Mr. P. Selvam , B.Sc and he married Ms Shirly, B.Sc, B.Ed and this couple is blessed with one son and one daughter namely :- [a] Mr Anish Philip and [b] Ms Pricy Anbu

Mr N. Philip's Career Trajectory : Mr N. Philip entered the Travancore State service as Sepoy Clerk on the 8th November 1937 for a monthly salary of Rs 28= on the advice of the Travancore State Service Commission . While he was serving as Sepoy clerk he was transferred to the Education department by the Travancore Government, as an undergraduate teacher .and accordingly he joined Muvattupuzha English High School and from there Mr N. Philip was transferred to the English High School at Marthandam and at Marthandam E.H.School he worked for 2 months and then he was transferred to the Govt English High School at Eraniel and at this School he worked for 7 months. From Eraniel E H S he was transferred to the Higher Training School at Kottarakara and here he worked for 2 months and then he was transferred to the Government English High School at Marthandam and there he worked for 2 years . After having worked for nearly 2 years at the E.H.School at Marthandam he was transferred to the famous S.L.B English High School at Nagercoil . Subsequently Mr N. Philip's service was confirmed in the Education Department. Afterwards there was no turning back in his flourishing teaching career . Mr Philip was promoted as 2nd grade teacher on the scale of Rs 125-- 175m with effect from the 1st September , 1950 .
He was Promoted as Inspector of School : On the 1st November 1956 Kanyakumari District was merged with the Tamil Nadu State and as a corollary Mr N. Philip became a Teaching Staff of the Education Department of Tamil Nadu Government . Mr N. Philip received an order from the D.P.I [ Director of Public Instructions ], Madras appointing him as Inspector of Primary and Middle Schools of Boothapandy division forthwith and so he took charge of the appointment on the 7th September 1957. With great efficacy he was discharging his official duties. After some years he was promoted as H.M and he worked as Head Master of the Govt High School at Ayikudi, And afterwards Mr N Philip. B.A. L.T. worked as Head Master of the Model High School at Saidapettai, Madras, nearly for three years [1959- 1961] .He also had the privilege to work as Head Master of the Govt High School at Thakalay and Mathandam. After having done many years of fruitful service in the Education Department he was promoted and transferred to Athur in Salem district to work as special District Education Officer [ DEO] and he conspicuously proved himself as an efficacious special District Education Officer. . After having served in the field of education for more than three decades he retired from Service on the 31st May , 1970.
Conclusion. Mr N. Philip, B.A, L.T, was an intellectual and multifaceted personality; he joined with Mr Thomaiappan B.A, LT of Carmal High School, Nagercoil and wrote Biology Text Books for Std VI & IV Form in 1950 These two Text Books were well appreciated by the teachers, students and parents and the books enjoyed good demand . He was a great Tennis and Badminton player and he had the honor serving as a Committee Member of the Travancore Cochin Athletic Association in the year 1953 and also was a Member of Tennis Club in Nagercoil. He was a great hunter and was an adept and accurate Shooter . Mr N. Philip had passed away from this world on the 4th may 1978. . He had a good mastery and command over English, Malayalam and Tamil languages. He was great Administrator, Teacher, Hunter, Author, Music lover, Sportsman etc,. We can infer many valuable lessons from his life he was kind, audacious, hard working , and was a good reader, he believed that a sound mind could exist only in a sound body. . Now his children and grandchildren are doing very well in life. And his students remember him with gratitude Mr N. Philip's main policy and principle of his life was not to make any enemy I will say, Mr N. Philip, B.A, L.T, was a remarkable person and his enviable and accomplished life has become a guiding and galvanizing milestone for the younger generations and student community.
