Ex Education Secretary of South India Union of SDA Schools, President of Seventh Day Church North Tamil Nadu Section, Principal of SDA Spencer High School Bangalore, Pr Monickam Dhason, B.A, L.T, Part Final

 Pr. Monickam Dhason in Sri Lanka   : After joining S.D.A  Pr.Monicakam Dhasaon  went to Spicer College in Bangalore and did his under-graduation studies .During that period of history  the Seventh day Adventists were planning to start  their first School in Sri Lanka . In this connection after his graduation Pr Monickam Dhason   was sent to Sri Lanka  to work as English and Tamil teacher. In order to build the proposed new School, the SDA purchased 100 acres of  barren and rugged land in Myilapitya village situated  in the  hillside area near Kanday in Sri Lanka. . The Village of MYILAPITYA  in Kandy was a highly underdeveloped area without proper  road and other transportation facility. .During the construction process of the new school, the newly appointed teacher Mr, Monickam Dhason  also did  manual labor along with the masons and other helper workers and completed the construction work of the new School. The new   School was  named as , LAKPANAHA  and it means in Sinhalese language  Light of Lanka.

Lakpanaha High School and Pr. Monicakam Dhason    :Pr Monicakam Dhason was one  of the pioneer teachers in the Lakpanaha High School . Pr Monickam Dhason was a great educationist and  visionary and so ardently he developed a few other SDA schools  in and around Colombo city..  He spent  15 fruitful years in Sri lLanka .  All  of his three children namely [1]Ms Rachel, [2]Mr Robert Dhason and [3]Mr. Ribbel Josha Dhason spent their early years in Ceylon along with their  parents . During the years 1956.--1957  unfortunately there was Sibhalese riots against Indians living in Ceylon and so Pr Monickam Dhason returned to India along with his wife and children,

Pr Monickam Dhason developed and upgraded Pragasapurm Elementary School as a High School: On return from Ceylon Pr Monicak Dhason was posted  to work as English teacher at the S.D.A .E.D. Thomas High School in Kudikadu [ located in Orattanadu Block  in Thanjavur District] and he served as Dean and English teacher in that school, but within two years he was transferred to SDA James Elementary School at Pragasapuram [located near Nazareth in the Thuthukudi District]to work as its Principal . After assuming charge as  Principal  of  SDA James Elementary School, as a visionary he changed the school as a Boarding School and then  he took all the necessary steps and initiatives to upgrade the school as a High School and he succeeded in his effort. Now  it had been upgraded as James Memorial Higher Secondary School and  is functioning as one of the famous Schools in Thuthukudi District,

He worked as Principal of SDA. E.D Thomas High School with great efficacy   Pr. Monickam Dhason was called back to ED Thomas High School at Kudikadu to work as English teacher .In this period he completed his L.T and  was promoted as the Principal of the Adventist E.D Thomas School, at Kudikadu. With great efficacy he served as  Principal of the E.D Thomas School, for a long period of 12 years..Then on completion of twelve years he was transferred to the famous Adventist LOWRY Memorial Higher Secondary School in Krishnarajapuram , Bangalore.

He Worked as Head Master of Adventist Lowry Memorial H .S School in Kriahnarajapuram,    Pr Monicakam Dhason  worked as Head Master of the prestigious Lowry Memorial higher Secondary . School, with great distinction and dedication for  2 years.

Pr. Monickam Dhason was transferred to Spencer High School, Bangalore to serve as its Principal   :  With great distinction Pr Monickam Dhason served as Head Master of the prestigious Spencer High School , Bangalore for two years and his valuable service to the cause of education was recognized by the SDA Mission. and he was promoted to be the Education Secretary of the South India Union of SDA Schools  In that capacity he had to oversee more than 600 Schools in South India  : As Education Secretary of Seventh Day Adventist Schools in South India he traveled extensively and intensively  throughout South India to  oversee the schools under his administrative control. .Then he was promoted as President of North Tamil Nadu Section of S.D.A.  and his H.Q was in Trichirappalli.  He was in charge of all the Churches and Schools situated in the North Tamil Nadu Section of S.D.A and  subsequently he was bound to travel frequently.. This frequent travel slowly  affected his heath
.
His  Sudden Death :  Pr Monickam Dhason  never compromised his duty for anything. So he traveled
frequently to oversee the affairs of the churches and schools that were under his administrative control. During his official trip  to Pondichery and he became very sick and subsequently he was  admitted in K.J Hospital in Chennai   and in spite of all medical care he passed away on March, 26th 1976.

Conclusion : Pr. Monickam Dhason was a remarkable person. His manifold accomplishment as a Pastor, Teacher, Institution Builder, Administrator and Pastor,  deserve our appreciation . Definitely he was a great Achiever in life..From an unknown village he reached great heights by his hard work, innovative intelligence, and God fearing nature. He was a  loving husband to his wife,  responsible father to his children, inspiring teacher to his student , efficacious preacher to the church members, friend to the common man, sincere worker of SDA and above all a good human being. We are glad to note that all of his children and  grand children are doing very well in life, as promised in Psalm 128. .He was one of the unsung heroes of Kanyakumari district,Tamil Nadu  The educational institutions he developed and established will stand as lasting witness to his remarkable contribution to the cause of education. Definitely his life is a tall and inspiring  milestone in the religious, social, educational history of South India
