Educationist, Theologian, Former Elder in Jehovah Shammah in Chennai, Writer, Thinker & a Man of God Bro.Christanujam Edward Dasan,. Part --A.

Introduction   : Brother Christanujam Edward Dasan is generally known as Bro. C.E.Dasan or Neddie  among his friends, relatives and public .He hailed from one of the illustrious Christian families of South India.  He was a remarkable human-being , multifaceted personality , creative thinker, writer , unassuming, a lieutenant and friend of Bro. Bakht Singh and one of the pioneer elders at Jehovah Shammah in Vepery, Chennai.and above all he was a great man of God. His profile will be an inspiration to many to lead a meaningful life like him. Definitely his life was a precious, valuable and lasting milestone in the  educational, religious , social and intellectual history of Tamil Nadu and South India.

His Birth and Parents ; Bro. C.E. Dasan was an offshoot of an illustrious and educated Christian family from Nagercoil. kanyakumari district.Tamil Nadu.. During 18th century in Nagercoil lived a respectable Christian  and his name was Mr M. Devadasan , and he was living happily with his cute wife Ms Annammal [Ms Annammal was a relative of famous Christian Poet Mr. John Palmer ] and this couple gave birth to a male child in 1885 and this couple christened this son as George Dawson. Mr George Dawson married Ms. Agnes. Mr George Dawson and his wife Ms. Agnes George Dawson  couple gave birth to five children including Mr. Christanujam Edward Dasan. Mr. C.E.Dasan was born on 8th February ,1918 in Madras[ now Chennai ]

Mr.C.E. Dasan's Siblings and Families  : Mr George Dawson and Ms Agnes George Dawson couple gave birth to the following children;[1] Mr.Christanujam Edward Dasan [Born. 1918], [2] Mr Rabindranath Sanuel Dawson [ Born ,1920], [3] Ms Jemima [ Born, 1922 ], [4]Mr Janakan Dawson [ Born , 1924] and [5] Mr Cyril Dawson [ born , 1926]. [1] Mr. C.E Dasan is the hero of this Article [2]. Mr Rabindranath Samuel Dawson, B.A, served in the Indian Air Force and in 1945 he married Ms Raniammal, M.Sc, M.A and she worked as a mathematics Lecturer at the prestigious Women's Christian College , Madras and also in the ST Hindu College, Nagercoil . And this R.S Dawson couple begot three sons namely ;[a] Mr. Timothy,[b] Mr.Jasper and [c] Mr Gideon. [3] Ms. Jemima George Dawson after her SSLC did her Teacher Training  course . She  married her first cousin  Mr Chandra Paul in 1946. Unfortunately she died at an early age of 30. in the year 1952.[4] Mr Janakan Dawson married Ms Manohari  the eldest daughter of Dr.A. Abraham [ Malaysian Government]. and Mr Janakan and Ms.Manohari Dawson couple is blessed with a daughter by name Ms.Latha and she  married an MBBS Doctor..and [5] Mr Cyril  Dawson, B.Sc [Maths] and he married Ms M.N. Leelabai in 1958.[ D/o of Mr Sundram Pillai of Royapuram.Madras. Mr Cyril Dawson  had the privilege to work  as a high school teacher at the famous Scott Christian High School, Nagercoil and Madras Christian College High School, Chennai. Mr Cyril Dawson and Ms Leelabai Cyril couple  gave birth to five children namely[1] Mr Paul D Dawson, [2] Mr. Stephen, [3] Mr Silas [4] Mr Simon, and [5] Mr Daniel
  
Mr C.E Dawson and his Education     : Mr C.E Dasan proved himself as a brilliant student since his primary school days.Bro. C.E. Dasan's father Mr George. Dawson  was working as a YMCA Secretary but he suddenly died  while C.E Dasan was only 9years old  in the same way C.E Dasan's mother died while he was 15 years old .  In this context we need to remember Mr C.E Dawsons' paternal grandfather Mr Moses. Devadasan who worked as Administrator of Rev.Dr. Robert Caldwell's Wood Land Estate located at Asambu hills in Nanjil Nadu [ K K Dist] in the then  Travancore State Mr. Moses Devadasan  bought  Woodland Estate[ 275 acres] from Bishop Caldwell [ Author of the iconic book, A Comparative Grammar of the Dravidian or South Indian Family of Languages] Moreover Mr Moses Devadasan  was a great businessman in his time and bought many other properties also. After the death of Mr.Moses Devadasn, his eldest son Rev. D.M. Devasahayam. B.A B.D [ He was the first B.D.degree holder in the whole of India] managed the Woodland Estate and other properties on behalf of his siblings.So in this context Mr. Rev.D.M Devasahayam helped Mr C.E. Dasan to continue his education with the income earned from Woodland Estate and other properties of Mr Moses Devadasan.. Mr. C.E. Dasan passed his B.Sc[ Mathematics] at the age of 17and also passed his L.T.course ..After his graduation Mr. C.E Dasan got a government job . .

  7. Mr Cyril Dawson was my class teacher whom i will never forget. I used to be late to school often and once gave the excuse that the train left early. He said, the train didn't leave the station early, I reached late. Is there a way to reach out to him? Kailasnath@google.com
