Author ,Dramatist, Poet, Editor , Professor, Theologian and Former General Secretary of the Christian Literature Society , Chennai Shri T. Dayanandan Francis , M.A, Ph.D, D.litt,. --Part A.

Introduction : Rev.Dr. T. Dayanandan Francis,  a former General Secretary of the Christian Literature Society Chennai, was a colorful and multi-faceted personality . he was a great Thinker, Writer, Author , Theologian, Lyricist and so on. However I think the present world including the Tamil Christians  are not  properly aware of Dr Dayanandan Francis  and his fruitful  and impressive contribution to the cause of Tamil Literature, Tamil Christian Literature , Journalism, Christian Theology etc,. So in this Article I am happily bound to introduce Dr. T.Dayanandan Francis  to the international readers and to the Tamil Christian Community and Indian Christian Community who are residing in various parts of the world. He is popularly known among his Friends and relatives as Dr. Daya  I am happy to remember here that I had the privilege to meet him two times  and also had the privilege to accompany Dr. Daya to Mylaudy along with some Christian friends  to see the historical Mylaudy CSI Church[ Originally Mylaudy LMS Church-, the first Protestant Church in Travancore and also the birth place of the great Tamil Christian Poets Shri . Devavaram Munshi and Shri. John Palmer  ]

His Fore Fathers, Parents and birth  and siblings:  Dr. Daya's  paternal grandpa Mr. Abrahm Ebenezer was a native of  a small village called "Dandukarai"  in South Arcot dist. Dr. Daya's father Mr.E. Tychicus was born at Vellore on 13-4-1903. Mr. E.  Tychicus after successfully completing his collegiate studies at Voorhees college, Velore, continued his theological studies and successfully completed the same. and served as Professor and later as Principal of Arcot Lutheran Theological Seminary , Sainiahapuram ,Vellore . It is pertinent to mention here that, like Rev E Tychicus his brothers Rev. Titus Ebenezer and Rev Yesudasan Ebenezer also served as Pastors. Rev. E. Tychicus married a modest and beautiful lady by name Ms. Grace Rajammal on 21st September 1931. Rev. E Tychicus and Mrs Grace Rajammal Tychicus couple was blessed with three sons and three daughters.  Dr . T Dayanandan Francis was born on 14th August 1932 at Ranipet. All of them were/are well settled in their respective life, it will useful to mention the fact that the famous Music Composer and  Lyricist Dr. Bakthan  Tychucus is  Dr. Daya's younger brother .

Dr T. Daya's Education: Dr Daya was a brilliant student since his childhood days.  After his School education at Voorhees High School ,Vellore  Dr. Daya  did his  Intermediate studies [FA ] at the famous American College, Madurai  [1950-1952 ] After having passed his Intermediate [FA] examination meritoriously he got admission at  the famous Pachayappan college, Chennai in 1953[ [1953-1956]  with the guidance of late Shri C. A. Joseph [ His future father-in-law] for his BA [ Hons- Tamil Litt ]  Dr. Daya got the best educational privilege to have great Tamil Scholars like Dr Mu Va as his Tamil Professors. at Pachayappa College , Chennai .  In tune with God's calling and his Parents' guidance and desire he joined the famous United Theological College for his BD [ Bachelor of divinity] in 1957. and continued his Theological Higher studies at UTC , Bangalore [ 1957- 1964 ] At UTC he had the privilege to study under world famous Thelogians like Dr. Paul D. Devanandan ,Dr, E. C. John and some others.   In tune with his thirst for knowledge he did his Ph.D in Linguistics and received his PhD on 1974. Dr. Daya also had the privilege to pursue his post Doctoral studies at the University of London , UK  and also in Serampur University, .
