Former Faculty Research Associate, University of Maryland, and Clinical Instructor , Virginia Tech University,U.S.A, Dr. Ruby Renchith Sheela Paramadhas, B.V.Sc,M.V.Sc,Ph.D, -- Part I

Introduction : Dr. Ruby Renchith Sheela Paramadhas, B.V.Sc, M.V.Sc, Ph.D, daughter of Mr P. Paramadhas of Nagercoil, is one of the illustrious and accomplished  Daughters of Kanyakumari Distrit and Tamil Nadu . Kanyakumari District can be really proud of Dr. Ruby R.S .Paramadhas.   No doubt she is a remarkable woman and she is a many faceted personality with great potentialities. Definitely her educational accomplishment  and her contribution to Veterinary Science and Pathology  deserve great appreciation and her profile will definitely inspire many young  Women  to become achievers. She is really a Milestone  for she was the first lady Veterinary Pathologist in the Madras Veterinary College. 


Her Birth and Parents: and Siblings:   Dr. Ruby Renchith  Sheela Paramadhas was born on 5th June, 1960 at Nagercoil,  as the second Child of the lovely couple Mr. P. Paramadhas and Mrs Sarojini  Bai Paramadhas of Nagercoil. Dr Ruby R.S .Paramadhas is having three smart brothers  including Pastor Palmer Paramadhas ,the famous Founder  Pastor of Atlanta Tamil Church, USA and two lovely  sisters and all of them are well settled in life.


Her School  and P.U.C.Education: Ruby R Sheela Paramadhas was a brilliant student, from the very beginning of  her school days. She did her High School Studies at the famous St Joseph Convent , Nagercoil She  completed her high school education with flying colors and joined the famous Women's Christian College , Nagercoil and passed her P.U.C with distinction.

Her Collegiate Education :  After meritoriously completing her PUC course ,Dr. Ruby Renchith Sheela Paramadhas joined the famous Madras Veterinary College,  Chennai [Madras] in 1978  and did  her BVSc degree course [1978 -1984]. She successfully completed her B.V.Sc Course in 1984

Dr. Ruby R.S. Paramadhas married Dr.Elankumaran Subbiah. While Ruby R.S. Paramadas was doing her BVSc  course at the  Madras Veterinary College , Vepery, Chennai  she happened to meet a handsome and intelligent classmate by name Mr Elankumaran Subbiah and they were impressed mutually and spontaneously exchanged their minds with each other.    Yet they completed their BVSc course successfully and in 1985 Dr. Ruby Renchith Sheela Paramadas married Dr. Elankumaran Subbiah [.Now Dr. Elankumaran Subbiah , B.V.Sc, M.V.Sc, Ph.D, Diplomate ACVM is working as Associate Professor of Virology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathology at the Center for Molecular Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Virginia Polytecnic Institute and State University, USA.] And this lovely couple is blessed with two smart and intellectual  sons.


Dr. Ruby R S Paramadhas worked as Assistant Veterinary Surgeon:[1984-1994]' ; After having successfully completed her BVSc course Dr Ruby Paramadhas  was appointed  by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1984  to work as Assistant Veterinary Surgeon in the Animal Husbandry Department , Government of Tamil Nadu and in that capacity she earnestly and efficaciously worked  in the Department  till 1994.

Dr Ruby Renjchit Sheela Paramadhas did her M.V.Sc[1987-1989]: Even while Dr Ruby was serving as Assistant Veterinary Surgeon she joined  and pursued  her M.V.Sc course at the famous Veterinary College at Vepery, Chennai she passed her M.V.Sc course with flying colors.

Dr. Ruby R. S. Paramadhas joined as Assistant Professor at the Madras Veterinary College: After having passed her MVSc examination Dr Ruby R.S. Paramadhas  joined as Assistant Professor at  the Department of Veterinary Pathology , Madras Veterinary College  in 1994 and  she continued in that capacity till 1999. During this period she earned a good name as a good  and versatile teacher

Co-Principal Investigator:  In 1998 Dr. Ruby worked as Co-Principal Investigator in a grant obtained from the Government of India for the establishment of primary cultures of the hepatopancreas of Penaeus monodon.

Dr Ruby R.Sheela Paramadhas earned her prestigious Ph.D  degree[1994-1999]:  Dr. Ruby R. S. Paramadas is blessed with natural flair for research and learning . While she was working as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology at the Madras Veterinary College; she enrolled and did her research [1994-1999] for her  doctorate degree  and  earned her prestigious Ph.D in Veterinary Pathology from the Madras Veterinary College , Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Madras[Chennai], India.and added a new intellectual feather on her academic cap.

Dr. Ruby R.S. Paramadhas and Dr. Elankumaran Subbiah  left for USA;  Dr Elankumaran Subbiah was also a studious student and researcher like  his wife Dr. Ruby R.S. Paramadhas and  so he  also continued his Higher studies and got his Ph.D [Veterinary Microbiology] in 1996 from Madras Veterinary college. . To realize their full potentialities, visions and research mission  Dr, Ruby Renchith Sheela   Paramadhas, along with her loving smart scholar husband Dr. Elankumaran Subbiah, . left for USA.in 1999 to assume  their new academic positions at the famous University of Maryland , College Park , USA. Dr Ruby R.S. Paramadhas joined as Faculty  Research Associate, in the University of Maryland 

 [It was really  sad and unfortunate to learn that Dr. Elankumaran Subbiah died [1st , September 2015] in Chennai, India  .He came to India  from USA with his wife to spend his holidays]

Patriarch Maharasan Vethamanickam's Daughter Pakkiayi's Genealogy. Part II

Introduction : In all sense of the word Patriarch  Mylaudy Maharasan  Vethmanickam was a remarkable person. He was a visionary , missionary and emissary for social ,intellectual and spiritual empowerment and enlightenment. He was a colorful personalty, his profile has got a place in high places and prestigious pages. Even The Oxford Encyclopaedia of South Asian Christianity  has allotted some paragraphs for  Mylaudy Maharasan Vethamanickam,   such was  his  crucial greatness in social and religious history.

Mylaudy Maharasan Vethamanickam's  wife and children :  Patriarch Mylaudy Maharasan Vethamanickam and his wife Mrs. Sathiayi Vethamanicakm were blessed with two beautiful daughters namely:[1] Pakkiayi and Annammal and two handsome sons namely :[1] Devasahayam[Chidambaram,] and [2[ Moses .]

Vethamanockam's elder daughter Pakkiayi married the dynamic and smart Mr. Packianathan of Mylaudy. Mr Packianathan and Mrs Pakkiayi Packianathan gave birth to a lovely Child and Mrs Pakkiayi Packianathan and her Huband  Mr Packaianathan christened their  lovely son as Vethamanicakam in remembrance of Pakkiayi's father Mylaudy Maharasan Vethamanickam. Now I will draw the genealogy tree of Maharasan Vethamanickam through his daughter Pakkiayi.

some other Articles].

                                                                                                                                                                 Conclusion: Mylaudy Maharasan Vethamanickam's Genealogy Tree is really beautiful and fruitful.  Really Patriarch Mylady Maharsan Vethamanickam's Descendants are living with us and among us  and they were and are  shinning in their selected respective fields as Doctors, University Teachers, Engineers , Poets, Singers, Writers , Historians ,Musicians, Dean, Principals, UN Officials etc,.    It is really interesting to write  and draw the Genealogy Tree of Maharasan Vethamanickam , because every branch of Vethamanickam's family deserves a separate genealogy study, and  Article in the interest of social , educational, medical, and church history of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu and India.
