Musician, Teacher, Preacher, Maternal Grandfather of Former Methodist Bishop of Malaysia & Singapore Rt.Rev. Dr. Theodore R. Doraisamy, and A Native of Dennispuram Mr. M.P. Baruch ,. Part Final.

Mr. M. P Baruch began his career as Supply Pastor in a  Methodist Church in Malysia    : Pastor M.P. Baruch arrived in Malaysia in 1912, with sound theological knowledge and adequate experience in preaching.  During that period of time Bishop  Rt. Rev.William F. Oldham was serving as the  Methodist Resident Bishop of peninsular  Malaysia.  Mr. M.P Baruch easily impressed Bishop William F. Oldham and Mr. M.P. Baruch  was appointed as Supply Pastor of the Seremban Tamil Methodist Church in Negri Sembilan, Malaysia . As Supply Pastor Mr M. P Baruch served the members and the Semban Tamil Methodist Church with great devotion, commitment and efficacy.

Mr. M.P. Baruch  Taught at the Jean Hamilton Memorial School  :  Mr. M.P . Baruch was very intelligent and he was a  grasping reader and his command over Tamil and English was very good  It would be really useful for the students of Church history to read some vital information about Rev. William F Oldham, .Though  Rev William Oldham  was an English man , he was born in Bangalore , India and he could speak fluently in Tamil also.  Rev. William F. Oldham  was one of the founders of Methodist Church in peninsular Malaysia.  As a visionary Methodist Bishop Rev.  William F  Oldham  founded the Jean Hamilton Memorial School  to train the Asian Ministers. Later this School was upgraded as a College with a new name , Trinity College .  Mr M.P Baruch got the privilege to work as a Teacher in this prestigious Institute and  he taught  Tamil, Homiletics, and Music to the students ..  His style and method of teaching and preaching were well appreciated by his students . As a Teacher he made  lasting impression in the minds of his students  His old student  at the Jean Hamilton  Memorial  School  Rev. J.V. Ayaduray used to speak about Mr. M.P. Baruch's enviable method of preaching and teaching  

Mr. M.P. Baruch was a convincing  Preacher :   Pastor Mr M.P. Baruch's sermons were always Christ centred  and Biblical ..  He took real care and effort to take appropriate and relevant notes from the Bible and other relevant Resource books  for his sermons and generally his sermons were filled with philosophical fragrance and essence  According Mr. M.P Baruch, human life was a value transcending all values. 

He Was a Talented Musician   :   It would be apt to remember one fact that he was a relative of the great Tamil Christian Lyricist and Poet late Mr John Palmer of Mylaudy . It is said  that he knew the original  tunes of John Palmer's lyrics   Sri. M.P Baruch knew the mettu [specie] for each of the lyrics of Poet John Palmer [Ja.Pa]. Not only he but also his children were also very good singers and instrumental players especially his son Mr Joshua Baruch could compose , sing and play Violin, . It is apt to remember here that his daughter Ms. Boosie Perinbam's son Bishop  Theodore R. Doraisamy's wife Ms Annabella  Christie  hailed from a musical family that  had the blessed privilege  to produce  great musicians like Pianist  Padma Sri. Handel Manuel,  Music Composer and Singer Dr, Anand Chellappa , Violinist  Mr. Shadrack  and so on .  

Conclusion  :  After his retirement from teaching job he moved to Malacca,in Malaysia  where his daughter Ms Annie was living; it is said, Malacca looked like  Nanjil Nadu in those days and Malacca was filled and covered  with  fertile pretty paddy fields like Nanjil Nadu    Mr. M.P. Baruch stayed with his daughter Ms Annie for many decades till his death    His daughter  Miss. Annie looked after her beloved dad  Mr. M.P. Baruch like a Mother. He was loved by his wife Ms Joanna Baruch, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and by the public  . His friends and relatives called him ,Father Baruch . His photograph was published some years ago in a Souvenir in Malacca with the caption, " Grand Old Man of Malacca ". Among the Methodists he was well known as the grandfather of Rev Theodore R Doraisamy.  Every man born is bound to die  Father M.P. Barauch lived a full  life in line with the Psalm 128 and died at the ripe age of 93. His funeral service was attended by his relatives and friends in large numbers and the funeral service was conducted by his beloved grandson Rev. Theodore .R .Duraisamy and Rev.V.A. Chelliah and the service at the cemetery was conducted by the Church of England Pastor . Really Father Mr. M. P Barauch was  not only a Grand Old Man and but also a Great Man  and we are proud him.
