Mr I. Chellam's  Parents and Birth    :  Ambilikonam is one of the beautiful idyllic villages in Thovalai Taluk in Kanyakumari District and it lies on the northern end of Thovalai Taluk and in this beautiful village many decades ago there lived a honest man by name Mr. S. Iyappilai  and he married a modest young woman by name Ms Yesuvadial from Kadambadivizhagam village[ Currently many natives of this village  are living and working in USA as professionals] and after their marriage this couple settled in an enchanting  nearby village called Gnanam .  Mr. S. Iyappillai and Ms Yesuvadial Iyappillai  couple gave birth to their boy child  Mr..Chellam on the 23rd January 1959 at Gnanam village. 

Mr. I .Chellam's Siblings   :   God blessed  Mr S. Iyappillai and Ms. Yesuvadial Iyappillai couple with  all the conjugal blessings and this blissful couple gave birth to the following children namely ;  [1] Mr.I. Shanmugam  and he married  Ms Padma [first wife] and this couple gave birth to the following children namely : [a] Sheeja and [b] Sheebu. Mr Shanmugam again married  another woman by name Ms Selvi and this couple gave birth  to Mr Esakkiappan , [2]  Mr. I.Mohan, and he married Ms Kanagam from Chemponkari village and this couple gave birth to the following children namely [a] Ms. Ezhil, M.E and she was married to  Mr. Ajith Singh and Ajith  Singh worked in Trivandrum Air Port , Security section , and [b]  Mr. Ajith Kumar and he worked in the C.I. S. F , [3]   Mr. I. Chellam [ He is the Hero of this Article ] and [4] Ms . I. Indra and she married Mr Durai and this couple gave birth to the following children namely [a] Ms Mathavi, B.A, [b] Mr Yesuraj and he worked in the Corporation of Mumbai. 

Mr. I.  Chellam's Educational Tract   :       Mr. I. Chellam  did his Primary school Education at the Government Primary School at Gnanam and did  his 6th and 7th standard studies at the Arumanallur Govt High School and then  he joined the famous S.L. B High School at Nagercoil and passed his S.S.L.C in the year 1976.. After having passed his S.S.L.C with flying colours Mr. I. Chellam joined the famous ST Hindu College at Nagercoil and passed his P.U.C examination meritoriously and pursued his B.Com in the same college and passed his B.Com  in the year 1979 with high marks . Then he pursued his M.Com in the same ST Hindu College and passed his M.Com in the year 1981 meritoriously .

Beginning of  Mr Chellam's Professional Career   :    Mr. I. Chellam   passed his  Central Service Commission examination and joined the Customs and Central Excise Department as U.D.C, on  27th February 1982. at the Viruthunagar  Customs and central Excise Office. Afterwards there was no turning back  and after some years  he was promoted as Inspector of  Customs and Central Excise Department in the year 1989 and transferred to Sivakasi  .With great enthusiasm and efficacy he had been working as Inspector of Customs and Central Excise Department  for many years 

Mr.  I. Chellam , M.Com married Ms Santhi  Vijaya Sree , B. Sc    :  It is not good for a  man to live alone and he should seek eligible and suitable Life Partner  and so Mr Chellam, M.Com married Ms Santhi Vijaya Sree , B.Sc, daughter of Mr P. Selvanayagam { He retired as Sub Inspector of Police ] and Ms J. Sarah Bai on the 29th  April, 1990 at Bairavi Kalyanamandapam , Nagercoil .

Mr. I. Chellam and Ms Santhi Vijaya Sree Couple's  Children   :    Mr I. Chellam and Ms Santhi Vijaya Sree couple  is blessed with all the connubial blessings and this couple gave birth to the  following children namely : [1] Mr. Aravind Chellam ,and he after having passed his B.E[ Mechanical], he pursued his M.S { Production Engineering] at the famous Jonkoping University in  Smaland in Sweden and passed his M.S with flying colours . Currently he is doing his M.B.A,  at the prestigious Arun Jaitley  National  Institute of  Financial Management [AJNIFM], Hariyana and [2]  Ms. Ayswaria Chellam , she passed her  B.E [Electronics and Communications]  in 2015 and then pursued her MBA at the prestigious I.I.M[ Nagpur] and passed her M.B.A in the year 2018 with flying colours  . Currently she is working as Business Development Officer  in the famous  Flipkart.  Company.[ A subsidiary Company of the famous Wall Mart Company, US] 

Mr. I. Chellam was Promoted as Superintendent of Customs and Central Excise Dept  : Sri. I Chellam, M.Com had been serving his department with great devotion and efficacy and he was promoted as Superintendent of Customs and Central Excise Department  and he assumed charge as Superintendent on the 25th January 2003  at  the Commissionerate of Customs and Central Excise , Tirunelveli . Mr I. Chellam  served as  Superintendent of Customs and Central Excise in Tutucorin, Thenkasi , and Nagercoil Range offices.  While he was working as the Superintendent of Customs and Central Excise, in the Nagercoil Range Office  his area of operation covered the  whole of Kanyakumari District and Nanguneri taluk and Radhapuram taluk of Tirunelveli district also. .  After having served the Customs and Central Excise Department for nearly three decades with great distinction he retired from service  in January 2019.

Conclusion  :  Currently after his retirement from service  Mr. I  Chellam , M. Com has been living happily with his wife and children  at his beautiful house in  Nagercoil.  He is very calm , intelligent, unassuming  and  is very fluent both in English and Tamil . He has a natural inclination towards Tamil Literature. . He is physically and mentally very strong.and is a talented Shuttle Badminton and Carrom Board player  and Sprinter and had bagged many medals in the  Sport events  conducted by the Department..  According to me  he deserved even greater promotions and places in his professional career . His loving smart wife and brilliant and worthy Children are the joy of his life  and definitely he can be proud of his children's enviable educational accomplishments and their good behaviour and nature. .  It is not possible to cover all the aspects of prolific  life story in a single Article . I will call him a shining and galvanising  Milestone  for his achievements ,  unassuming qualities and amiable nature.

Writer , Evangelist, Pastor and Famous Tamil Christian Poet Rev. George Vedanayagam and his Illustrious Children and Families . . Part A .

Introduction   : Outstanding  Evangelist, powerful Christian Minister  and Author of some immortal Christian literary works namely "Sarguru Sathaham", 'Nenjuru Kadkam","Mather kummi",  "Adavar kummi"," Amalaguru Sathaham", "Paralokarachiya Paamalai", "Nithiyanantha Kaathal" etc, and some inspiring popular Tamil Christian  lyrics namely "Arasanaikkaanaamal Iruppupoma", "Iya Vumathu Sitham Aakidava Vaanum" etc, was a great man of God and  his contribution for the cause of school education, Christian Tamil literature, social justice and spiritual edification of the people deserves our recognition  appreciation and admiration. Definitely the manifold contributions made by his family members and him, cover and  decorate some important and crucial Chapters of the educational, social  and religious  history of Tamil Nadu and India. .

Rev. George Vedanayagm's Parents and his  Birth   : Many decades ago there lived a smart man by name Mr Solaimalai at  an enchanting  hilly village called Natham Patti near Madurai town,  with his modest wife Ms Karuppayi Solaimalai  and to this blessed couple  a male child was born in the year 1868 and the parents named their child ," Nagaiya". During that period of time Christian  Missionary Rev. George Thomas Washburn [ Madura American Mission and he was the first Principal of  "Madurai American College" } and his wife Ms Eliza Washburn were doing Christian Missionary work in Pasumali, and its surrounding villages  including Natham Patti.   During those days  the young  boy Nagaiya's father  Mr. Solaimalai died due to a poisonous snake bite. In this situation the young Nagaiya was brought up under the custody of   Rev . G.T Washburn and his wife Ms Eliza.  Through Rev George Washburn , Mr. Nagaiah came to know  about Jesus Christ and when Nagaiah was doing his 12th year  he accepted Jesus  Christ as his God and saviour and changed  his name as George Vedanayagam. { Probably name  George in memory of Rev. George Washburn ] 

Rev. George Vedanayagam's  Academic and Religious Education  :Young George Vedanayagam was a brilliant student since his elementary school days and  Rev G.T. Washburn  encouraged and guided Mr George Vedanayagam  in his school studies  And studious George Vedanayagam passed his Matriculation examination meritoriously and then he pursued his three year Theological course and passed his theological course colourfully . After having passed his Theological course Mr. George Vedanayagam became a pastor in the Madura Mission and later he shifted to Madras  and worked  as a  Pastor  at the St Andrew's Church at Choolaimedu , Madras  and consequently this Church  used to be called as Vedanayam Iyer [ Priest ] Church .  

Rev. George Vedanayagam's Marriage and his  Children:   Rev. George Vedanayagam  was married to Ms Asirvathamal [ adopted daughter of Rev Chandler of Madura Mission ] at Vathalagundu  [ Batlagundu ] on the 8th January 1889 .   Rev. George Vedanayagam and Ms Asirvathamal George Vedanayagam couple gave birth  to the  following Children namely :-[1] Mr.  G.V.Job, [2] Ms. G.V. Elizabeth Charlotte Rungaswamy  , [3] Mr. G.V. Jeremiah , [4] Mr .G.V . Isaiah, [5] Mr G.V. Ezekiel, [6] Mr . G.V. Azariah, [7] Mr. G.V. Amos, [8] Ms. G.V Susannal .In this context I would like to deal only with two children of  Rev. George Vedanayagam namely :[1] Mr. George Vedanayam Job, M.A , L.T,  and [2] Mrs Elizabeth Chorlotte Rungaswamy, in this Article   

[A]Rev George Vedanayagam's Son Mr. George Vedanayagam Job, M.A, L.T and Family    :   Mr.. George Vedanayagam Job, M.A, L.T, married Ms Esther Job  and this couple gave birth to the following children namely : [1]  Ms. Jemmi Job Rajamanickam , [2] Ms. Leela Job, [3] Ms. Kirubavathi Job , [4] Mr. Samuel Vethanayagam Job , [5]  Commodre Dr. Chandran Job, M.B.B.S ,. Dr. Chandran Job married  Ms Abranam the eldest daughter of the famous Advocate Mr. Devadhas, B.A, B.L of  Thirukurungudi and Mrs.Abranam's mother Ms. Anna Muthu Devadhas  was a  native of Nagercoil , [6] Ms Sarojini Asirvatham and [7] Mr. Basil Gunaseelan . Sri. George Vedanayagam Job, M.A, L.T  was a great educationist and administrator  and he worked as the Principal of the Columbus High School at Chengalpattu  Mr. G.V. Job was a classmate of  India's second President Dr. S. Rdhakrishnan at the famous Madras Christain College, Thambaram and  the inspiring and thought provoking debates held on Christianity and Religion between Dr. S Radharakrishnan and Mr G.V Job attracted the attention of the many intellectuals of those days .  Mr G.V. Job was the first Indian General Secretary of the newly formed Church of South India  .

[B] Rev. George Vedanayagam's daughter Mrs. G.V.Elizabeth Charlotte Rungaswamy and Family   :  Rev. John Runguswamy and Rev George Vedanaygam were contemporaries  and were working as Christian missionaries in and around  Madras [ Chennai]  and  both of them were great friends .   Rev. John Rungaswamy  and Mrs Rebecca Gnanamuthu Rungaswamy couple gave birth to their eldest son namely Rev. Jesudasaen Wesley Samuel Rungaswamy on the 31st July 1888. Like his father Rev. Jesudasaen Wesley Samuel Rungaswamy  also became a Methodist Pastor and worked   as a  Methodist Minister at the Wesley Church Royapettah, All saints Church Triplicanae, Saint Luke's Church Mylapore etc.  He also had the privilege to work as a Chaplain in the  British Indian Army  for some years. Ms G.V Elizabeth Charlotte, daughter of Rev George Vedanayagam married Rev. Jesudasaen Wesley Samuel Rungaswamy. Rev. Jesudasaen Wesley Samuel Rungaswamy and Ms. G.V. Elizabeath Charlotte Rungaswamy couple gave birth to the following children namely : [1]  Mr. John Rungaswamy, [2] Ms. Gurnsey Isaiah , [3] Ms. Annie Arumainayagam [[4] Ms. Mercy Job, [5] Ms. Maida Charles , [6] Ms Elsie David  and [7] Mr George Vedanayagam ,[8] Mrs. Amy Jean Chandraleela Samuel, and [9] Mrs. Susanna Vasantha Chitha 

Conclusion    :  Christian poet and Pastor  Rev. George Vedanayagam and his Illustrious children and families were/are blessed with many spiritual and worldly gifts and talents . The life stories of Rev G.Vedanayagam and his illustrious children and families  deserve an enviable and eminent place in the Church and educational  history of  Chennai, Tamil Nadu and India . God has blessed their descendants  in a  conspicuous and constructive way and probably each one of  them  deserves a separate Write up about them . Christian Poet Rev George Vedanayagam even today is  remembered during our church services, when we sing his devotional Tamil songs and when we see the altars where upon he stood and preached his soul winning  sermons, spontaneously his memories fill our minds. . The Christian Literature Society, Chennai  { C.L.S } should come forward  to write and publish the  biographies of Rev. George Vedanayagam, his illustrious children and his eminent  son in law Rev. Jesudasaen Wesley Samuel Rungaswamy . I salute the great Tamil Christian Poet, Evangelist and Pastor late Rev G. Vedanayagam  with great gratitude, respect and joy  and I end this Article with a short sentence ,  " indeed late Rev.G. Vedanayagam was a great Man of God"

Mr. S. Manohar 's Marriage and  his Wife Dr. Helen Ebenezer, M.A, M.Phil. Ph.D  :    Mr. S. Manohar, B.E. I.R.S.S.E  married Ms.Dr. Helen  Ebenezer, M.A, Ph.D daughter of Mr. David  and  I think it will be appropriate to say some vital details  about Ms.  Helen Ebenezer Manohar .Ms Helen  Ebenezer after having passed her  B.A [ Economics { Madurai Kamaraj University]  pursued her M.A,[ Economics] at the famous Fathima College, Madurai [ 1978--1980 ] and passed her M.A[ Economics] in First Class. Then she pursued  her M.Phil [ Economics] .at the acclaimed  Madras Christian College [ 1987--1991 ] and passed her M.Phil .In line with her thirst for knowledge  she did her Ph.D [ Business Management Economics ] at the Madurai Kamaraj University [ 2008-- 2011] and the title of her  Ph.D Thesis was 'Performance of Southern Railway Towards Passenger Satisfaction "  and she passed her Ph.D meritoriously   Dr. Helen Ebenezer began her career as an Assistant Professor of  Economics at the famous Sarah Tucker College, Palayamkottai  and rose to the position of an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Economics Department and she served the Economics department of Sarah Tucker College for 30 years and 3 months [ July 1983-- Sept 2013 ] with great distinction.  Due to some personal reasons she resigned her job and joined the famous Gurunanak College in Madras as an Associate Professor of Economics and served in the college  efficaciously for 3 years  and eleven months [ September 2013-- July 2017 ] .Since her retirement in July 2017  she has been  living  in Delhi  with her husband  Mr. S. Manohar.

Mr. S. Manohar and Ms Helen Manohar Couple's Children  :  Mr. S. Manohar and Ms Helen Ebenezer Manohar couple is blessed with the following children namely ; [1]  Mr Edward Sudarson,  and he after having passed his B.E went to UK and pursued his M.S {Engineering] at the Liverpool University, U.K and passed his M.S [ Engineering]  and now  is working in a famous company in Bangalore  and [,2] Ms Annie Lamingada, B.E and currently she is working in a famous company in Bangalore. 

Professional Career  of Sri. S. Manohar, B.E, I.R.S.S.E      :  :After having passed his  B.E  degree Mr S. Manohar cleared the U.P.S.C  group I { IRSSE ]examination  and began  his professional career on the 25th October 1978 as a Probationary officer in the Signal department of the Indian Railways.  Afterwards there was no turning back till his retirement. In the Indian Railways  during the course of his long service he decorated some important offices  with distinction :- [1] Sr. Professor [ Signal & Telecommunication ] Railway Staff College, Vadodara, National Academy of Indian Railways [ Feb1996--July 2000] [2] OSD , Guntur division and ADRM, Vijayawada , South Central Railway Zone [ Aug 2000-- March 2003], [3] Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer, South Western Railway , Hubli, CHOD [ March 2003 --March 2007] , [4]  Divisional Railway Manager / Guntakal, South Central Railway [ March 2007 -- Oct 2008 ], [5]Chief Signal and Communication Engineer, South Western Railway / Hubli  [ Oct 2008 -- Oct 2009 ] , [6] Chief Signal and Communication Engineer , Southern Railway , Chennai [ Sept 2009 -- November 2014], , {7] Indian  Railway Board's  Additional Member for Telecom and Signal and  Ex- officio  Special Secretary to the Government of India [ Nov 2014-- Nov 2015 ].  As  Railway Board's Additional Member for  Signal and Telecom department Mr. S.  Manohar, B.E, I.R.S.S.E  was the Administrative Head of the Signal and Telecommunication department  of\Indian Railways.. His official responsibility was to assist the Railway Board in Policy formulation and Planning, execution of various Signal and Telecommunication works of the Indian Railway and  to assist Railway Ministry during the Parliamentary session , conduct of National and International Seminars etc.  And after a long and enviable service in the Indian Railways  Mr. S. Manohar  retired as a Secretary to the Government of India 

Conclusion   : Mr S. Manohar is a remarkable man  and his reach to  eminent and august  places and positions in the Indian Railways deserves our spontaneous admiration and applause..No doubt he served as a Catalyst  to bring constructive changes in the Signalling and Telecommunication department  of the Indian Railways and his contribution to make Indian railway Signalling easier and reliable will be  remembered for many many years  He was very intelligent, unassuming, humane, industrious, innovative, bold and honest  His life and achievement  will galvanise our youth with new hope and vision.  It is not possible to cover all the aspects and details of Mr. S. Manohar's prolific life in this Article .  He boldly crossed many cross roads and bottle necks with courage and reached great peaks in  life and has become an illustrious model to many  He served the Nation and its people with dedication, devotion by discharging his official duties  with great efficacy , commitment and honesty .  I will call Mr .S. Manohar, B.E, HAG / I.R.S.S.E, is really a remarkable  and galvanising milestone in the history of Indian Railways.   His phenomenal rise to enviable and eminent positions  in the Indian Railways make us to look at him with awe. His awesome and innovative contribution for the development and modernisation of the Signal and Communication Department of Indian Railways deserves our applause and admiration . Mr. S. Manohar's Parents and Birth   :    Mr. S. Manohar's  father late  Mr. Subbiah,  hailed from the historical Kulasekarapattinam [ Kulasekaran Pattinam ] village and Kulasekarapattinam lies on the Coromandel coast in Udangudi Block in Tutucorin district. During the first century A.D.  Kulasekarapattinam was flouring as an important Port .The name  Kulasekarapattinam  is derived from  the Pandiyan king Maravarman Kulasekarapandian 1.   It would be apt to remember a fact that Kulasekarapatinam has produced  some noteworthy high ranking Government officials, famous medical doctors, bishops, businessmen,etc. Mr. Subbiah was working in the Revenue Department, Govt of Tamil Nadu and retired as Special Tahsildar . Mr. Subbiah was married to Ms Anna Lakshmi and she was a native of  the historical Manapad village located near Tiruchendur.  Ms Lakshmi was a trained teacher but she lived as a house wife . Mr. Subbiah and Ms.Anna Lakshmi Subbiah couple gave birth to Mr S. Manohar on the 14th November 1955  at Manapad.  

Mr. S. Manohar's Siblings : Mr Subbiah and Ms. Anna Lakshmi Subbiah couple gave birth to the following children namely : [1]  Dr. S. Sunder Singh Baliah, B.Sc, M.B.B.S, D.L.O and he was married to Ms Dr Padmavathy , M.B.B.S, D.D. and both of them worked as Government Doctors and after long service they  retired from Govt service  in the grade of Civil Surgeons  [2]  Ms Santha Veda Singh M.A, B.Ed,  and she worked as a PG Teacher and now retired and her husband Mr Vethasingh, B.Sc, B,L  is an Advocate after having worked as a Legal officer in the Banking sector in Kuwait and Bahrain he returned to his native place and now he is working as a freelance Advocate in Tirunelveli , [3]  Mr. S. Manohar, B.E, H.A.G /  I.R.S.S.E [ He is the Hero of this Article ], [4]  Prof. Dr. S. Guna Sekar, M.B.B.S, D.O, and he worked as a Professor in the Ophthamology Department,  Kilpauk Government  Medical College Hospital  and now he is retired .He is unmarried [5] Mr S.T. Rajan, M.Sc, B.Ed  and his wife Ms. Pon Mekala  Rajan M.C.A  are currently working as a PG Assistants at a private Higher Secondary School at Thisayanvillai. in Tirunelveli district and  [6]    Ms. Jeya Jothy, B.Pharm  and she is working as a  Pharmacist in the Medical Department ,Tamil Nadu Government and her husband Mr Jeevanandam runs his own Pharmacy at his  Doctor Brother's Hospital.    

Mr . S. Manohar's Educational Track   :.  Like his brilliant siblings Mr.S. Manohar  was also a studious and brilliant student since his Elementary School days . He did his Schooling at the famous St John's Higher Secondary School, at Palayamcottah . After having secured very high marks in his Plus Two Examination he pursued his B,E [ Electronics and Communications } degree course at the prestigious Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology at Karaikudi , Madurai Kamaraj University  [1972- 1977 ] and passed his B.E  with flying colours .. In addition  by doing some training programs Mr. S. Manohar  updated and upgraded his professional skill and efficiency

Union Life  and Professional Career of Mr. Wesley Mohan Roy   :  After completing his ab initio Training at the CATC, Allahabad , Mr Wesley Mohan Roy was posted at Madurai Airport for a short span of time and after that he was transferred to Vijayawada .At Vijayawada Mr Wesley Roy started his  Union career by becoming the President of the Local Employees Union of the Vijayawada Airport.  Again he was transferred to Madurai Airport in 1971 , where he was elected as the Branch Secretary of the Madurai Airport Employees Union. In 1974 he was transferred to Madras Airport and here at Madras Airport he contested for the post of the Southern Regional Secretary of Airports Authority India's Employees Union [AAEU}and won the election. Mr Wesley Roy held this Post for two decades before becoming an Aerodrome Officer in 1990.  Here again his innate and proved leadership qualities enabled him to assume the Post of the Southern  Regional Secretary of the Air Traffic Controllers Guild  and he continued in this Post till his premature demise in 2001

Mr Wesley Mohan Roy as Union leader was known not only for his fiery, powerful  and convincing  speeches but also for his empathy for the cause of the underdog. Even though he rubbed shoulders with the top echelons of the Management he allotted time to visit the houses of the bottom level employees  of the Organisation and redressed their problems with earnest human concern. He never failed  to take part in the family functions of the bottom level employees. Even though externally Mr Wesley Mohan Roy  looked very tough and rough  he had a soft  Mother Teresa kind of compassionate heart.

Mr. Wesley Roy's Church Related Activities and Life   :  .    Right from his childhood days at the American Advent Mission  Mr Wesley Roy was very active in the youth activities of the Church.  When Carmel Gospel Mission was formed in 1969 by a splinter group of the American Advent Group Mr. Wesley Roy served diligently for many years as the General Secretary of the  Carmel Gospel Mission.  In  later years he became  a Lay Preacher at the C.S.I St. Marks Church at Salaiyur, Chennai. His favourite subject of his sermons was Repentance. He reflected christian values and principles in his daily life  since his childhood days. . As a fluent orator both in English and Tamil he won the hearts of the listeners and convinced them about the importance of real repentance. He was a Pastorate Committee member for many terms in the face of formidable odds . 

Conclusion       :  Heartless death snatched away our dear Mr Wesley Mohan Roy from this world in the year 2001. He was a towering personality with lofty ideas and ideals . He lived his life with a mission and vision.   He achieved greatness in life. . He was a multifaceted personality, he was a great organiser, good Samaritan, eloquent and convincing speaker both in English and Tamil. A man who was known  for his down to earth attitude and qualities.  Mr Wesley Mohan Roy rubbed shoulders with the top level managers and manual labourers without any discrimination. He was an extraordinary Trade Union leader.  It is said that if we want to know a person correctly we should know their friends and Mr Wesley Mohan Roy enjoyed the friendship of some great and eminent persons of his time . His close friends were namely: Prof. Dr. Dayanandan, { HOD, Botany, MCC ], Dr. Julius karunakaran [ Former Prof-- MCC & Bishop Heber College Trichy and Founder of Christian Eye Hospital Trust],Captain Dhavakumar[ Former GM for Operations , Indian Airlines], Mr. Kambar Prabhakar [ Manager Personnel & Administration],  late Mr. Ananda Ranjana Doss [ Former Member Operations- C.M.D.A ] and Mr D. Arumugam [ Former President Indian Airlines SC&ST Association. ]. All of his friends, colleagues, superior officers and Union members  loved and   respected Mr Wesley Mohan Roy for his great abilities, amiable traits  and noble qualities.   As a mark of respect and love thousands of people from various walks of life  participated in  his funeral procession.  Mr. Wesley Mohan Roy could not realise all his  goals and  aspirations  because of his unkind premature death but we can say that his sons will  try their best to realise the egalitarian goals of their beloved Dad. Mr. Wesley Mohan Roy's  Educational Track and His College Days :  Mr Wesley Mohan Roy  was  a studious and intelligent  student since his Primary School days .  He did his Schooling at the then Corley High  School [ Methodist ] at East Tambaram. After having passed his S.S.L.C , Mr. Wesley  joined the famous Madras Christian college to do his P.U.C in the year 1959.  After having passed his P.U.C he pursued his B.A [ Economics] in the Madras Christian College and successfully completed his B.A[ Economics].  During his College days  at Madras Christian College, Ms Wesley  was a popular student and  he was an avid and efficient Footballer. He played for the Madras Christian  College Team and was a Local hero for his fans and many local Football teams vied to get him to play for their Team. He also played League Football,with Ashley Bitts 11 Div and with  Sporting Youngsters a 1 Div team. He was known for his enduring stamina active throughout the game from the start to finish off the field . He was known for his impeccable sense of dressing within the limited means he had and most importantly for his impish franks.  His friends till this day cannot resist a smile when they reminisce about Wesley and his  mischievous adventures in College. One of his favourite pastimes was to entertain his friends with funny lyrics set to Baila tunes. The very cosmopolitan makeup of the M.C.C campus played a pivotal role in shaping his outlook in life and in imbuing a sense of confidence and leadership quality that he exhibited later in life

After his fascination for Football he had a great love for flying  and  so Mr. Wesley Mohan Roy joined the Air Wing of the National Cadet Corps  [ N.C.C] unit of the M.C.C.  He loved Gliding also so much and frequently he was absent from the classes on account of his Gliding practices.. So one of his Professors told Wesley's friend " Tell Wesley not to glide in the examination " .After graduating in Economics he longed to take up Flying as his career but his impecunious condition and the impending compelling need to support his parents in running the large family forced and convinced him to abandon his cherished dream ..

Mr. Wesley Roy began his Professional career    : Mr Wesley Mohan Roy began  his career as a Teacher but the income he got from the teaching job was inadequate to meet his financial needs and so he wrote and passed the Entrance Exam needed to get a job in the  Civil Aviation Department in 1968. and joined the Civil Aviation Department as Grade I Aerodrome Operator.. His batchmates and he were sent to the Civil Aviation College at Allahabad for their ab initio training.  After completing his Abinitio Training at the CATC, Allahabad, Mr. Wesley Mohan Roy was posted at the Madras Airport for a short span of time and afterwards he was transferred to Vijayawada   Thus he began his career in the Civil Aviation Department, Govt of India

Mr. Wesley Mohan Roy's Marriage  and his Wife's family    : Mr . S. Wesley Mohan Roy was married to Ms. Mercy Hannah Rajakumari, daughter of late Mr. Abel Sugunaraj and Mrs. Karuna Sugunaraj  on the 5th May 1972..It would be appropriate and useful to say here a few lines about Ms Mercy Hannah Roy's parents and family . Mr  Abel Sugunaraj  retired from the British Shipping Conglomerate " Gordon Woodroffe "  and was an accomplished Musician also. Unfortunately Ms Karuna Sugunaraj passed away within a few days after her daughter Ms.Mercy was born and the  baby Mercy was brought up by her grandparents and Aunt Mrs. Grace.  Mrs Karuna Abel Sugunaraj hailed from Shoranur village in kerala and she was the sister of Ms Grace Santiago , daughter in law of  Rev. V. Santiago,[ Moderator of the S.I.U.C and Tamil Christian Poet ]. Ms Mercy was a disciplinarian and retired as a Post Graduate [P.G] Teacher in 2005 and  she was very active in  Church activities as a Member of the Local Pastorate committee for many terms.

Mr. Wesley Roy and Ms Mercy Roy Couple's Children : Mr Wesley Mohan Roy was known for his integrity,valour, kindness and integrity and Ms Mercy Roy was known for her piety, modesty and submissive coyness  and God blessed this couple and the couple gave birth to the following two sons namely : [1] Mr. Jabez Pradeep Roy and he  worked for Air India till 2011 and currently works for the famous Cognizant Technology Solutions.  He is an avid Musician also and is the Trumpeter for the Madras Musical Association , Symphony Orchestra. Mr.Jabez Roys' wife  Ms Nancy Clotilda [ M.Phil in Statistics works as Manager [ Process Consultancy & Del ] with C.T.S . Mr. Jabez Roy and Ms Nancy Jabez Roy  couple is blessed with a lovely daughter by name Ms. Nithila Roy she is in class V, [2] Mr. Wesley Mohan  Roy couple's younger son Mr Morris Romel Roy like his dad, served as  Chairman of the Madras Christian College Union Society  [ 1996--1997 ] before joining the Airports Authority of India and assuming charge as the Regional Secretary of the Union in 2009.. Morris Roy currently resides in Muscat where his wife Ms Deena Priyadharshini , Ph.D  teaches logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Middle East College. . This couple is blessed with two children namely : [1]Mr Wesley Nathaniel Roy [Class XII ] and Mr Jason Danniel Roy [ Class VII ].

Mr Wesley Mohan Roy's  Worthy Nephews and Nieces   : No doubt late Mr Wesley Mohan Roy was a blessed man in all sense of the word. Mr Wesley Roy's nephews and nieces also have made  noteworthy marks in their careers and life   Here I mention a few names of the numerous ones : [1] Ms Preeti Stanley, M.Sc [ Chemistry ] and she serves as Senior Sourcing Lead---Media at Mondelez for North America and Global markets, New Jersey , U.S, [2] Ms Dr Chris Monica , Ph.D , [Mathematics]  and she serves as Assistant Professor at Loyola College, Chennai, [3] Ms. Dr. Nirupa Dhanesh , Ph.D [ Public Administration ] Ilford County, London , [4] Mr. Roy Philip Meyer , M.B.A lives in Melbourne, Australia , and  [5] Mr Revin Thimothy Thomas, M.B.A, - STAPLES, , Halifax, Canada.
