On Return From LSE Dr.K.rajaratam joined the University of Madras :  On successful completion of his Ph.D, research studies at the famous London School of Economics, Dr. Kunchala Rajaratnam returned to Chennai and joined his Alma Mater Madras Christian College as a Lecturer in the Economics Department . After having worked in the  Economics department of the Madras Christian College for some period of time Dr. Kunjala Rajaratnam joined the Indian Economics Department of  the University of Madras and at that time the famous Dr. Lakshamanswami Mudaliar was serving as the Vice Chancellor of the Madras University.  As an erudite scholar Dr.A.L. Mudaliar was very keen to select  Teachers who were trained in the best Universities of the world. Dr K. Rajaratnam's application for Job in the Madras University attracted the attention of  Dr. A.L Mudaliar and Dr. K .Rajaratnam was selected and appointed as an Economics Lecturer in the Department of Indian Economics, the University of Madras  in the 1960s. So Dr.K. Rajaratnam resigned from the Madras Christian College and joined the Madras University as an Economics  University Lecturer .At this time Prof Dr. R. Balakrishnan was serving as H.O.D of this department , and he was  an alumnus  of Dr. Vera Anstey in the prestigious London School of Economics, U.K.  Dr. kunjala Rajaratnam was a Teacher Par excellence and students longed and loved to hear his thought provoking lectures delivered in impeccable English. Dr. K. Rajaratnam also had the privilege to serve as the Chair Person of the Board of Studies, Post Graduate Economics, Madras  University. . Dr. K. Rajaratnam introduced the Gandhian Economics and Environmental Economics in M.Phil . He was also responsible to introduce a separate M.A degree course in Environmental Economics in Madras University.[  Ed. Prasanna kumari, Empowering Society p.p. xxiv &..xxv] .  Dr. K. Rajaratnam was appointed by the then honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu as a Member of  the Syndicate  of the Madras University. . Dr. Kunjala Rajaratnam also had the honour of  serving as  Acting Vice Chancellor of the Madras University for some period of time . Really he was a Teacher of Par Excellence

Dr. K. Rajaratnam Played a Dynamic and Deciding Role in the Church       : Dr. kunchala Rajaratnam loved the Church and  Society so much  than anything else and through Church he wanted to bring spiritual , social , economic and intellectual development in the society and so he devoted major portion of his life for this cause. He very actively and enthusiastically participated in the affairs and activities of the Church specially in the Lutheran Christian Church. Dr. K. Rajaratnam was elected as the Secretary of the Federation of Evangelical Lutheran Churches in India in the year 1968 which is now called as United Evangelical Lutheran Churches  in India [ UELCI ] . He had the  privilege to serve  as the Executive Secretary of the United Evangelical Lutheran Churches in India for more than two decades. He played a dynamic and deciding role in the affairs of the UELCI.. Dr. K. Rajaratnam was elected as a Member of the Executive Committee of the World Lutheran Federation  in 1970 at the World Assembly of the Lutheran World Federation ,held in Evian , France.  Dr. Rajaratnam was elected  to serve as the President of the National Council of Churches in India and he served as a fearless and dynamic President of NCCI . 

                     Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute , Chennai 

Dr. K. Rajaratnam and the Gurukul LutheranTheological College and Research Institute  : The Gurukul Lutheran Theological college and Research Institute has reached the present growth and status  through some process over the years. The years 1927, 1931, 1953, 1984 and 1985  stand as milestone years in the development history of the Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute Chennai . With great positive vision Dr. K. Rajaratnam reopened the Gurukul Theological College  and Research Institute and assumed charge as the Director of the Gurukul Theological College Chennai. He implemented his brilliant  theological visions wisely and  became  the corner stone of the academic pursuits and  activities of the college ..He with visionary grit introduced some unconventional subjects like Women Studies , Dalit Studies, Theology of Human Development etc in the the Gurukul Theological College and Research Institute. Moreover he introduced an innovative system of Management of the academic affairs of the college by staff and student Committees [ Ed.Dr. K.P. Krishna Shetty , op.cit , p.p 22&23 ]. In 1987, M.Th was introduced in two branches namely Christian Theology and Religion . Doctor of Theology [D.Th ] course was introduced in 1997 due to  the efforts taken by Dr.K. Rajaratnam.  By his hard and devoted work he transformed Gurukul Theological College and Research Institute Chennai  as one of the best Theological Colleges  in India .   Even after his retirement Dr. K. Rajaratnam served as a Director Emeritus of the Gurukal Theological College and Research Institute  till his death with great distinction 

                                        SERAMPORE  COLLEGE  [ UNIVERSITY  ]

He had the Privilege to serve as the Master of the Senate of the Serampore College [ University ] The innovative reforms introduced in the Management of the College  and the new unconventional Subjects introduced in the Curriculum of  the Gurukukul Theological College Chennai ,by Dr. K. Rajaratnam made him very popular and famous among the theologians and in the theological Colleges in India . No wonder Dr. Kunjala Rajaratnam was elected , Master of the Senate of Serampore college [ University].  Nearly 40 Seminaries of the Protestant and Orthodox churches in India are affiliated with the Serampore College [ University ]  The position .Master of the Serampore college[ University] in fact is the position of the Chancellor of the Serampore Univesity. .As Master of the Serampore University  Dr. K. Rajaratnam took many initiatives  to introduce welfare schemes for the Teaching and Non Teaching staff in all the 40 Seminaries affiliated to the Serampore University  .The Senate of Serampore College [ University ] honoured Dr. K Rajaratnam by conferring Doctor of Divinity degree [Honoris Causa ] on Dr. K. Rajaratnam in the year 1989.

Dr. K.. Rajaratnam and Martin Luther University in Shillong  :  Dr. K. Rajaratnam as the Chairman of the National Lutheran Health and Medical Board played a leading and pivotal role  in the establishment of the Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong. Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong , Meghalaya is the first Christian University in India and it is named after Martin Luther, the father of Christian Reformation.  Martin Luther Christian University has committed itself  to render service to the community and provide students with high quality education that will enable them to become duly qualified graduates and talented and competent  professionals, .so that they can work and serve community throughout the world  with professional proficiency and competence.

Dr. K. Rajaratnam was an  Economist Par Excellence ;  According to Dr. K. Rajaratnam , " End of Economics is the beginning of a New Social Order"  and finally he had said, "true Development is a package of several elements of quality of life, physical [ food, clothing, housing, health and employment], cultural[ education, family and socio life] and spiritual needs" .His conception of Development is seasoned with Justice.  Dr. K. Rajaratnam's contribution to the methodology of  Rural Development and Action Research Programs deserve our attention and  appreciation. As a Gandhian Economist Dr. K. Rajaratnam had authored a thought provoking  book, " Development and Environmental Economics--Relevance of Gandhi "  Dr, k,. Rajaratnam was a down to earth Scholar and Economist. He fully believed in the Gandhian concept of ,"Unity of Theory and Action ". In order to realise this concept in action , he established in 1979 the  "Centre for Research on New International Economic Order [ CReNIEO ] This brain child of Dr. K. Rajaratnam has been  recognised by the University Grants Commission as a Research Institution for Ph.D research studies, and has been  affiliated to the University of Madras for the M.Phil and Ph.D Courses in Economics and History and to the Bharathidasan University, Trichy for Ph.D course in History .  The most vital ideology of CReNIEO as set out by Dr. K. Rajaratnam is determination of the priorities for development and evolving a sound strategy to ensure a New Economic Order sans exploitative trauma. So CReNIEO took up socially relevant research, used research results for social action programmes and trained young men and women in research and oriented their academic research to social development to help the poor in India [ Ed. Dr. K.P. Krishna Shetty ,  " A Life's Journey Towards a Just Society," Op.Cit, pp.16 & 17]. Three major projects successfully launched by CReNIEO are Koraput Project in Orissa , Integrated Fishfolk Development Project [IFDP ] and Servarayan Hills Tribal and Community Development Project , Yercaud. [ Ibid, p. 18 ]. CReNIEO  had entered the scene with well planned "Integrated Fisherfolk Development Project" with great positive hope. for the all round improvement in the life style of fishermen in Pulicat lake. The landmark Projects are , 'Pulicat National Matriculation School, a Co-education School started in 1988 by CreNIEO and Lake Women's Education Project started in 1990. for the upliftment of women in such areas as informal education, skills training, health, hygiene and sanitation, nutrition, and campaign against liquor [ Ibid ]. The Servarayan Hills Tribal and Community Development Project which covers 67 villages located below the coffee plantations at Yercaud near Salem . This Project had made an excellent impact on the lives of the Hill people in important aspects  like comprehensive leadership , medical and functional literacy, etc,.[ Ibid ] 

Conclusion         :Dr. Kunchala Rajaratnam loved Christ, Church  and the  fellow human beings . He had a spontaneous special concern for the social ,cultural, economic and spiritual development  of the marginalised poor people. He dedicated his life to social concerns through his religious faith represented by the Church . He wanted education to reach all people specially the marginalised sections of the society. Dr. Kunchala Rajaratnam Christian Degree College,Chittor and Dr Kunchala Rajaratnam Christian College of Education , Renigunta, will speak volumes about the educational vision and service of Dr. Kunchala Rajaratnam for many centuries.     He was an eloquent  and convincing speaker in English, and he had the privilege to deliver thought provoking  lectures on Economics and Ethics  in some foreign countries and places like Rome ,  Sweden  and  Germany. According to Dr. Prasanna Kumari, " Dr. Rajaratnam was an Institution. His life had inspired many other lives and was instrumental in initiating many programmes and institutions of services to the Church and Community" .  His colleague Mr Vedagiri Shanmugasundarm calls Dr. K. Rajaratnam as a determined Development Activist among Economists.  Even though Dr K. Rajaratnam decorated many envious positions like the Chancellor [ Master ] of the Senate of Serampore College [ University] and President of NCCI he always kept his head and mind  cool and  balanced   He was an Economist Par Excellence, Teacher Par Excellence and Visionary Par Excellence . Dr. Kunchala Rajaretnam passed away from this world on the 7th April, 2010. It is not at all possible to cover all the chapters and aspects of his fertile life story and accomplishment within the  space of this Article . I will end this Article with the following sentence, "Dear and respected Dr. K. Rajaratnam, really you were a Retnam [ precious stone] among human-beings, I am proud of you and thank God for your meaningful life I salute you for the life-long  service you had rendered for the cause of Church and  Society and for the common man  "

He was a force , he was a galvanising power and his real life story and enviable accomplishments will definitely instil and inspire  the  hopeless  hearts with new hopes and positive dreams .He was one of the greatest  Economists of  India. He was an exemplary Christian Intellectual  and he was known for his brainstorming ideas and humanitarian concern for the poorest, lowliest,lost  and the last.

Dr. Kunchala Rajaratnam's Birth and Baptism   :   Pachikapallam is a fertile and aggressively beautiful  village  in  Chitoor district, Andra Pradesh and the word  Pachikapallam means ,"Green Meadows'  and its nearest town is Tirupati town.. Dr. Kunchala Rajaratnam was born at Pachikapallam  village on 6th August 1921 and was raised up in the nearby Tirupati Town . Dr. Kunjala Rajaratnam's parents were members of the Christ Church [ South Andra Lutheran Church ], Maruthi Nagar  at Tirupati and so Dr. Kunjala Rajaratnam was baptised at the Christ Church SALC,  Maruthi Nagar,Tirupati. . Christ Church [SALC] at Tirupati played a very vital and indelible role  in the life  of Dr. K. Rajaratnam ..As an young school boy Dr. Rajaratnam attended the Sunday School classes conducted by the Christ Church Tirupati regularly and imbibed the central message of Christ's teachings through his Sunday School  and nourished  his Christian faith.  

Dr. K. Rajaratnam's Educational Track in India    :  Dr. K. Rajaratnam did his high School Education at the Devasthanam Hindu High School in Tirupati and passed his SSLC examination with good marks. After having passed his SSLC examination he pursued his Intermediate Classes[ F.A ] in the Sri Venkaateswara Arts College in Tirupati. While Dr. K. Rajaratnam was doing his Intermediate Class, the students of the College elected him as the Secretary of the College Union without contest, even though he was a Christian . After having passed his Senior Intermediate Examination [F.A] he pursued his B.A[ Hons] in Economics in the prestigious Madras Christian College, Thamabaram, Chennai  and while he was doing his second year IV Hons-Economics  in the Madras Christian College he was elected as the President of the College Unit of the Student Christian Movement India .[ Ed.Prasanna Kumari, "Empowering Society" , Madras, 1995, Foreword written by Prasanna kumari, p.xiv ]. Dr. K.  Rajaratnam's leadership qualities and eloquence  attracted his fellow college students  and  he started to bloom as a promising Leader

Dr. K.  Rajaratnam started his Teaching Career    :  After having passed his M.A [ Economics] meritoriously Dr. K. Rajaratnam got his first appointment as a Lecturer in the Economics  Dept,  at the Assam Union Christian College , Baropani, Shillong  and he served  this college with great devotion and efficacy for nearly two years.. After two years Dr. Rajaratnam moved to the Andra Christian College , Guntur and started to work as a Lecturer in the Economics Dept of the Andra Christian College ,Guntur  with enthusiasm.

Dr. K. Rajaratnam's  Wife       :  In a way, I can say that Dr. Rajaraatnam's marriage was a love marriage..   Dr. K. Rajaratnam's wife Mrs Gloria Rajaratnam was his Sunday Schoolmate at the Christ Church in Tirupati and also she was a Schoolmate of Dr.K. Rajaratnam in the Devasthanam Hindu High School, Tirupati . Since those days a mutual infatuation and attraction bloomed mutually in their minds and it is said that Ms Gloria Rajaratnam was the most beautiful girl in the Devasthanam Hindu High School, Tirupati . Their formal meeting in the Sunday school and high school was slowly and steadily and invisibly blooming as a romance and finally that romance united  both of them as Husband and Wife . Dr. K. Raja Ratnam married Mrs Gloria at the Christ Church, Tirupati 

Dr. k. Rajaraatnam's Children   :  God blessed  Dr.K. Rajaratnam and Ms Gloria Rajaratnam  with all the conjugal blessings and this couple gave birth to five Children namely :- [1]Ms. Premanjali Rao and she was the eldest daughter of Dr.K. Rajaratnam couple and she married Dr. Prasanna Rao, M.B.B.S, .  After her return to Chennai from Caribbean islands she became involved in the Centre for Research on New Economic Order [CRENIEO ], Chennai  , where she founded a School for impoverished fishermen families and members of the underprivileged castes in 1987,  [2] Mr. Dr. Shyam Prasad , M.B.B.S, M.S, F.R.C.S, [ 1952- 2017 ] . He was a Cardio Thoraic Surgeon he had served as a Surgeon in  the Christian Medical College , Vellore, and  in the Apollo Hospital Chennai and also he had worked as Director of the CSI Rainy Hospital Chennai [ during that period of time my first cousin Dr Annette Paulmer, MBBS, DMRD, also worked in the CSI Rainy Hospital Chennai ]. He had also served as the Vice-President of the National Board of Medical Examination etc. He was one of the Founders of the Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong, Meghalaya and he served as its first Chancellor from 2006  up to his death on March 25, 2017, [3] Ms Ramola Zachariah  and she is running her own Publishing House, "Etype Publishing Solutions " and she is married to Mr Zacharia  Samuel  [4]  Mr Arun and he died at the age of 35 and his early death affected his father Dr. Rajaratnam and his mother Mrs Gloria Rajaratbnam so much beyond words and [ 5] a daughter , her name is not available now, it will be provided here later

Dr. K. Rajaratnam went to UK to do  Ph.D in London School of Economics       : Dr. K. Rajaratnam's  unquenchable intellectual thirst for knowledge and burning aspiration for higher studies in Economics in the World's best Institution like London School of Economics [ L.S.E ] made him restless and so he applied to the London School of Economics  for Scholarship and Admission to do his Ph.D in LSE , and  luckily he got both Scholarship and Admission to study Ph.D in Economics  in L.S.E and his joy knew no bounds.  Dr. Rajaratnam resigned  from the Andra Christian College and left for London alone leaving his dear wife and beloved five young children. In London School of Economics Dr. Rajaratnam had the privilege to be  a student of Dr. Vera Anstey and Dr, Vera galvanised and invigorated Dr. Rajaratnam with new vigour for study and research [  Ed .Dr. K.P. krishna Shetty , "A Life's Journey Towards a Just Society Chennai", 2000, page 5].Dr.Kunchala .Rajaratnam successfully completed his prestigious Ph.D [ Economics] in London School of Economics and happily reached Madras with his prestigious Ph.D degree of London School economics.. .

A Pioneer Law Graduate in Travancore State, Scion of an Illustrious Christian Family and Former Honest and Efficacious District Munsiff [ Travancore State } late Mr. D. Robert , B.A, B.L and His Illustrious family

Introduction    :  Former District Munsiff , Travancore State late Mr. D. Robert, B.A, B.L, hailed from an illustrious and pioneer christian family in Kanyakumari. district .   He was very handsome, honest , intelligent and he was one of the pioneer law graduates in South Travancore. His forgotten but unforgettable real life  history will inspire and galvanise  the readers and the youth to  lead a honest and meaningful personal and public life.

Former District Munsiff Mr.D. Robert, B.A, B.L,.

Mr. D. Robert's Parents  and  His Birth  :  Mr. D. Robert's father  Mr. Devasahayam and mother Mrs Annammal Devasahayam hailed from an illustrious  pioneer Christian [ L.M.S ] families in Nanjil Nadu [then South Travancore] and they were natives of Osaravillai village and  Ikyanam village respectively. Mr Devasahaym and his beloved wife were leading a blissful conjugal life and they gave birth  to their beloved son  Mr Robert in the year 1901. 

Mr. D. Robert's  Siblings    ; Mr. D. Devahayam and Ms Annammal Devasahayam couple were blessed with the following children namely :[1]  Mr.D. Robert , B.A, B.L ,.[ The hero of this Article], [2] Mr. D. Arumainayagam , B.A, L.T  and he served as an Assistant District Commissioner of Boys Scout , Nagercoil and Head Master of the S.A. Middle School, Vettoornimadam, Nagercoil  and he married Ms  Nalla Muthu , a daughter of Land Lord Mr. Gnanakannu of Vellamadam village , and [3] Mr.D. Yesudhas and he worked in Bank of Madura, and he married a cute daughter of Mr. Manuel  of kalluvilai village., near Kanyakumari.

Mr. D. Robert's  Wife and Children   :  Long time ago there lived a God fearing man in Nanjil Nadu and his name was Mr. Yesuthasan but he was generally known as Thasan Theresser [ Dresser] Mr. Yesuthasan was  a brother of Mr. Devasahayam's wife Ms Annammal Devasahayam .. Mr Yesuthsan [Mr. Thasan Thresser ]  married Ms Erakamuthu a sister of Dr. P. Noah , L.M.S, M.G [ a native of Thitttuvilai, Thovalai Taluk]  and this couple did not have any child for long time and so  they adopted a beautiful female child and named her as Palammal  and brought up their adopted daughter  Ms Palammal  with all love. Mr Yesuthssan [ Thasan Theresser ] loved and had been helping  his sister's son Mr D, Robert throughout  his educational career.   So as a mark of gratitude to his maternal Uncle Mr. Yesuthasan  [Thasan Thresser ], Mr.D. Robert married Ms Palammal . Mr. D. Roberat and Ms Palammal Robert couple were blessed with all the connubial blessings and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :[1] Ms. R.Jessie Bai, B.A, L.T, and she married Mr Paul , son of Mr Chakkarai from Madurai, [2] Mr.R. Gladson Devadhas[ Thambu ], B.A, and he married Ms Lily [ and she was a direct descendant of  the great Tamil Christian Poet Mr John Palmer, Mylaudy  and also she was Mr. Muthu Raj Palmer's sister's daughter ], [3] Mr. R.Wilson, B..A [ Iyadurai] and he married late Mr N. Samuel teacher's eldest daughter Ms Sartha Bai  , [4] Mr. R. George Stephenson alias Raja and he married Ms Annammal , and [5] Mr Rev. Prabhu Dhas , B.A, B.D [ Methodist Pastor in Malaysia] and he married a daughter of Mr Christopher who worked in the YMCA College , Chennai and Mr Christopher was a close relative of Bishop Dornakal Azariah . Mr.Rev R. Prabhu Dhas was a close friend and colleague of late Dr Sam T. kamaleson of World Vision.  Rev. Prabhu Das Robert had been serving as a Pastor at the Emmanuel Methodist Church Vepery Chennai during the period from  1962 to 1965 , and  Dr. Samuel T. kamaleson was also working as a Pastor at the Emmanuel Methodist Church , Vepery Chennai from 1961 to 1968 . 

                                          Mr. D. Robert, B.A, B.L  and his Family Members 

Mr. D. Robert's Professional Career     :  After  having finished High  School education and B.A, Mr. D.Robert  did his B.L, and passed his B.L examination with good marks and  then he joined the Judicial Service, Travancore government and began his judicial career as Munsiff..  As a God fearing man he had been serving as a honest and impartial Munsiff; and  before his retirement he was promoted as District Munsiff  and he had served as a District Munsiff in a few District  Munsiff courts in  Travancore State including District Munsiff Court at krishnapuram [ The Travancore Directory --1940--Part One , Trivandrum, 1939,  P.123] .  But Mr. D. Robert could not raise in his  judicial career above the level of a District Munsiff. 

Conclusion   : University Degrees  obtained should always be related with the year of passing such University Examinations.  Late Mr. D. Robeart, B.A, B.L , was one of the pioneer Law Graduates in the then Travancore State.  Physically and intellectually he was an elegant man . He was handsome and tall  and taller than his professional positions. . He discharged his official judicial  duties with a sense of honesty and integrity .  He is no more  living on this planet Earth but he still lives in the hearts of his family members, friends and admirers. . He was a good Christian believer  with a compassionate heart. . It is not possible to record all the important events and parts of his real life story within the space of this Article . Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas Assumed Charge as Principal of Soka Ikeda College , Chennai :    :After her retirement Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas wanted to use her time fruitfully and meaningfully  and at that time there were many advertisements from Self Financing Colleges for the Post of Principal.  Self Financing Colleges  are small private colleges affiliated to Universities with some autonomy  [ They can fix the fees structure of the students]. University has the rule that Principals must have Ph.D degree. Out of many colleges which advertised , Dr. Rani applied for the Post of  Principal  in Soka Ikeda College for Women situated at Sethu Bhaskara Nagar, near Madhanangkuppam near Kallikuppam, Chennai. 99. . She was selected and she took charge as Principal of the Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Sciences for Women , Chennai on the 5th August 2010.

A Short Introduction about the Chairman and Honorary Founder of the Soka Ikeda College : It will be indeed useful to the Readers to read a few lines about the Chairman and also about the honorary Founder of this College.. Dr. Sethu Kumanan is the Chairman of  the Soka Ikeda College for Women and he is known for his good understanding  and Philanthropic nature . He has started a few Educational Institutions in Tamil Nadu such as "Sethu Bhaskara Agricultural College and Research Institute" in Kalam Kavi Gramam , Visalayankottai , karaikudi, Sivagangai District  situated in a  sprawling campus of more than 200  acres with research facilities and this  is his Dream Come Project .His School ,"Sethu Bhaskara Matriculation Higher Secondary School"  at Pudur, Chennai has more than 8000 students.

Dr. Sethu Kumanan is an extraordinary man and  he has travelled to many places across the continents including Antartica . He is a Poet, Writer, and has produced many Documentary Films.  India's former President Dr A.P.J..Abdul Kalam after reading Dr. Sethu Kumanan's Poems, treated Dr Sethu kumanan as his friend.. He has received many Awards including "Soka Gakuen Award" in the World Cultural Conference . Dr. Sethu kumanan is a Man of Vision and one of his vision was to start a women's College where girls from villages and outskirts of Chennai City would get education so that their living standard and way of thinking would improve. Soka Ikeda College is different from other colleges ; Gandhian principles and value based education are being given importance  in this college. Soka Ikeda college had received the" Institution of Excellence  Award " from "All India Gandhian Studies Organisation". . More than 1800  students are studying in this College from villages in Tiruvallur district and outskirts of Chennai near Ambattur and Avadi. Dr. Sethu Kumanan's uncle and father in law Mr. Sethu Bhaskaran supported him at every stage when Soka Ikeda College was being built. Dr. Sethu Kumanan's wife Mrs. Kogilam Kumanan stood with him at every venture he  undertook. We cannot forget  Dr. Sethu Kumanan's father Mr. Karu Sethu and his mother Mrs. Irani Sethu and they hailed from a village called Karnamanickam located near Karaikudi.

The Honorary Founder of Soka Ikeda College for Women Chennai  Dr. Daisaku Ikeda  :  Dr. Sethu Kumanan's mentor  Dr. Daisaku Ikeda is a great personality in Japan, having millions of followers all over the world. . He is  the Honorary Founder of the Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Sciences for Women, Chennai . Dr. Daisaku Ikeda is a world renowned Educator, Philosopher, Poet of Eminence, Author, and Peace Maker. He is the Founder of many educational institutions in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong , Brazil , including Soka University , Tokyo with 30000 students and Soka Women's College , Tokyo .  In recognition of Dr. Daisaku Ikeda's service to the cause of education and his efforts to promote  World  Peace through Dialogues, Cross Cultural Exchange,  he had received more than 385 Honorary Awards from various Universities and Organisations. .He is the President of the worldwide Organisation , " Soka Gakkai International". The word "Soka" in Japanese language means 'Value Creation ".

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas as Principal of Soka Ikeda College for Women[ 2010- 2014]  :  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas served as Principal of the Soka Ikeda College for Women Chennai during the years 2010--2014 and  maintained discipline among the staff and students , supervised the work of the teaching staff and encouraged the students to study well. Many students secured Ranks in the University examinations . Extra Curricular activities of the students in  N.S.S, Rotract Club, Youth Red Cross, Red Ribbon Club, were encouraged in the College during her service as Principal with the support of the management during the year 2013 -2014..  Students were encouraged to participate in Sports and Games and they won many prizes in Athletics, Kho KHo , Volley ball, Foot ball and Basket ball . Cultural programs were encouraged and Cultural Exchange programs with the students of Soka University, Tokyo  were superb. In the academic side Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas helped the Management in the introduction of new Course, M.Phil[ Commerce] in 2011--2012. The introduction of Shift 2 [working from 2.30 to 6.30 , p.m] in the Soka Ikeda college with  B.Com, Corporate Secretaryship and two PG Courses namely M.A[ Human resources] and M.Sc [ Computer Science ] in the academic year 2012- 2013 was really a Milestone achievement  accomplished by Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas as Principal of Soka Ikeda College for Women Chennai . The purpose was to enable the Girls working in night shifts or morning shifts to get college education..M.A [ Thamizhiyal ] was introduced in Shift I and B.Sc [ Computer Science] in Shift 2 of the College in the academic year 2013- 2014. 

Intercollegiate Competitions  and Seminars were conducted, which instilled confidence in the minds of the students. Students were encouraged to participate in the events conducted by other Colleges. and the  students of Soka Ikeda College for Women invariably won prizes. Certificate Course in Japanese language was taught by Mrs. Kiomi Tanaka . The philosophy of Dr. Daisaku Ikeda and Soka Education were taught by Mrs. Guna Chithra ; and an Add -on Course , "Accounting and tally " enabled the students to secure Jobs easily. .Enactus is a program where students are trained to become Entrepreneurs.

Academic Exchange Program with Soka University, Tokyo   : The College has an Academic Exchange Program with Soka University Tokyo, .In this program two Students from the Soka Ikeda College for Women are selected to study Subjects at Soka University, Tokyo for 6 months  during their regular College Course and in other 6 months two students from Soka University, Tokyo and study few subjects of University of Madras, in Soka Ikeda college. for Women Chennai. This improved our students' outlook about Foreign Students and outside world 

Dr. Rani  Received the "Highest Honour Award" from  the President of Soka Women's College, Tokyo:       In September 2012 , Soka Ikeda College's Chairman arranged  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas' trip to Tokyo along with Mrs. Kiomi Tanaka and Mrs. Guna Chithra,  based on an invitation made by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda and his wife Mrs. Kaneko Ikeda . Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas cannot forget the extraordinary and excelled welcome given to her and team. Dr. Rani and group landed at the Tokyo Airport and they were given  best accommodation to stay and then they were taken to Soka University and to other very important cultural and academic  institutions  built by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda. Dr. Rani cannot forget her visit to Soka Women's College, Tokyo  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas received the 'Highest Honour Award " from Mrs. keiko Ishikawa , the President of Soka Women's College , Tokyo . Even today Dr. Rani remembers  Dr. Daisaku Ikeda and Mrs. Kaneko Ikeda with great gratitude for the honour done to her in Tokyo by them  . By her visit to Tokyo Dr. Rani's long cherished wish since her childhood was realised . 

                                                      AWARD  OF HIGHEST HONOR

Conclusion  :The retirement age for the Principals of Self  Financing colleges is 62 in the University of Madras  and so Dr. Rani retired in April 2014. But the Chairman of the College wanted Dr. Rani to continue as Alumni Director of the Soka Ikeda College for Women and Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas accepted the offer. As Alumni Director Dr. Rani computerised the data of all the Alumni who crossed the portals of the  Soka Ikeda College for Women Chennai, with the help of two Staff under her control. Alumni day Medical Camps  and Job Melas were conducted for Alumni. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas  worked as Alumni Director  with devotion and distinction  for 4 years and in 2018 she  retired from SOka Ikeda College of Women Chennai .

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas is an outstanding  Woman. and Great Educationist and she had invested major portion of her life period for the cause of Women's education. Dr. Rani had received the , "The Mega Project Award" in 2011 for her outstanding contribution towards humanitarian services rendered by her during the Mega Project 2011, by the University of Madras.  Lions Club of  International District 324-A-I , had  also honoured Dr. Rani Christhu Dhass with , "Best Teacher  Award ". Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas is a God fearing woman , honest, kind , very intelligent, good Administrator  and hard Worker . It is not possible to cover all the aspects and events of her life story within the space of this Article. After  her retirement Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas is taking more interest in Bible Studies, Church related activities  and in services to the needy . Rev.Prof. Dr. T. Samuel's  Parents   :    Rev. Dr. T. Samuel's  beloved father Mr Thirumavalavan  , B.A, is a native of Govindapuram Village in Vaniyampadi taluk and Vellore District . Mr. Thirumavalavan married Ms Pushpa Paranchothi from KGF and God blessed this couple with all the conjugal and other blessings .Mr. Thirumavalavan and Ms Pushpa Paranchothi Thirumavalavan couple gave birth to Dr.T. Samuel on 13th March 1970. It would be really useful to the readers to read a few lines about Mr. Thirumavalavan, B.A.  Mr Thirumavalavan did his B.A [ Economics] at the famous Islamiah College of Arts and Sciences at Vaniyampadi and  after having passed his B.A, he joined the Indian Railways and worked in the Railways Department for a few years . Then after having passed the necessary examination Mr Thirumavalavan joined the Income Tax Department and after having worked in the Income Tax department for many years, he retired as Income Tax Inspector . While Mr, Thirumavalavan was working as I.T Inspector in Vellore, Rev. B..H.. Samuel [ His brother late Rev Dr.B.H.Jackyayya  was a former Principal of Concordia Theologial College, Nagercoil ] was working as the IELC Pastor at the Christ Lutheran Church, Vellore.  Rev.M.Philip of Nagercoil  was working as the IELC Pastor at the Bethlehem Church, Vaniyampadi. Rev Philip and Rev. B.H.Samuel were loved and respected by Mr Thirumavalavan and his family members. During this period of time  Thirumavalavan's  first born boy child  died and he became extremely sad on account his infant son's death, at this time Rev B.H, Samuel comforted Mr.Thirumavalavan and prayed and  said to Thirumavalavan that God would bless him with another boy child and accordingly God blessed Thirumavalavan couple with a second boy child on 13th march, 1970. .Out of gratitude Mr Thirumavalavan named his second son as Samuel as a mark of respect to Rev.B.H.Samuel.  As Thirumavalavan loved and respected  Rev.M. Philip of Nagercoil  so much Mr Thirumavalavan brought his second son Samuel to Calvary Lutheran Church, Nagercoil  and the child Samuel was baptised by the then pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church Nagercoil Rev Philip at the Calvary Lutheran Church Nagercoil. 

The Siblings of Rev.Dr.T. Samuel    :  Mr. Thirumavalavan and his beloved wife Ms. Pushpa Paranchothi Thirumavalavan had been living a God fearing life and so God blessed this couple with the following childlren namely : [1] A male child died at his infant stage ], [2]  Rev .Dr.T. Samuel, B.Com, B.D, M.Th, Ph.D, [the hero of this Article],[3] Ms Milka Mary, M.S.W, L.l.B and she works as a Project Consultant in a Private Company. Ms.Milka Mary married Mr. Dr. Asokan, M.S.W, Ph.D and Dr Asokann had been working as a Senior Lecturer in the Social Works Department , Voorhees College, Vellore, but  unfortunately Dr. Asokan died in an accident just two years before from his regular retirement.date , [4] Ms. Rachel Retna kala, M.Sc, B.Ed, and she works as Maths Teacher in a Govt Hr. Secondary School at krishanagiri. She is married to Mr Immauel Sunder Singh and he worked in TNPC and now retired, [5] Ms. Sara Sathiya kala, B.A, B.Ed, [ Home maker] and her husband Mr Arokiaraj is working as a Teacher in a Govt  Elementary School in Puthukottai district, and [6] Mr Abraham and he is a Pharmacist and he does medical supplies to Medical Stores and he is married and his wife is a good Home Maker .

Rev. Dr. T. Samuel's Educational Track          : Rev. Dr. T. Samuel did his Primary School Education at the IELC Elementary School at Vaniyampadi  and then pursued his High School education  at the Hr Secondary School at Vaniyampadi. and he passed his S.S.L.C in 1985. After having passed his S.S.L.C he did his Plus two in the Islamiah Boys Hr.Secondary School in Vaniyampadi [ 1985-- 1987] and passed his Plus two in 1987.  Then he pursued his B.Com in the famous Islamiah College [ autonomous] , Vaniyampadi [1987--1990 ] and passed his  B.Com in 1990.

Rev.Dr.T. Samuel's Theological Educational  Track     : In 1991 Rev.T. Samuel successfully did his one year Catechetical Ttraining in the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil .  Then Rev.T. Samuel did his B.D at Gurukul Theological College and Research Institute, Chennai, affiliated to Serampore University [ 1993-1997] and passed his B.D with flying colours. and bagged some prestigious Awards and Prizes. As he scored very high marks in his B.D examinations  he received Academic Excellence Award during his Final Year, from Gurukul Theological College and Research Institute Chennai, Rev.T Samuel also received the Academic Proficiency Award for securing the Highest Average in 'History of Christianity' and 'Old Testament'. As he scored the highest marks in Church History in the Serampore University  Rev.T.Samuel received the "Serampore University's C.Abraham Prize for  High Proficiency Prize "  in 1997, from the Master of Serampore University Dr. K. Rajaratnam, M.A, Ph.D [ London School of Economics]. In line with his natural thirst  for knowledge Rev. T. Samuel did his M.Th [2004--2007] at the famous United Theological College[ UTC] Bangalore  and won Mr. Rev. Samuel Appaji Endowment Prize for Christian Ministry from UTC in 2007. and he also won the "Mrs. P. Prakash Sundaramma Memorial Prize" for securing the Highest Grade  in Christian  Ministry in 2007.  As a seeker of knowledge Rev. T. Samuel, B.Com, B.D, M.Th pursued his Ph.D  degree research at the UTC in the year 2011 and his Research Title for his PhD was '" Transition from  Prison Home, Life Adjustment Patterns in Tamil Nadu '. During this period Rev.T. Samuel worked as Counsellor  at the Puzhal Prison in Chennai for about 8 years..Rev. T. Samuel passed his PhD in the year 2018 .

Rev. Dr.T. Samuels' Wife and Children     : Rev. T. Samuel married Ms Priya , M.C.A, M.Phil, and this couple's marriage was solemnised at the Vanaiyampadi Bethlehem Lutheran Church  in 2002. Ms Priya Samuel, M.CA,M.Phil is working as a Lecturer at Islamiah Women's College Vaniyampadi. Rev. Dt. T Samuel  and Ms Priya Samuel couple is blessed with the  following children namely:-[1] Ms Irene Diya Jothi and currently she is doing her B.D.S in a dental College in Chennai., and [2] Mr Theophilus  Naether is doing his Plus two .

Rev. Dr,.T. Samuel's  Ministerial Career in I.E.L.C      :   After having passed his B.D, Rev.T Samuel started his ministerial career in I.E.L.C  in June 1997 and as a Candidaate for Ministry in IELC, Rev.T.Samuel worked in the IELC congregations at Vaniyampadi and  Mettupalayam, Pastorates in Vaniyampadi Cirle .  . In the year 1998, he was selected as a  Youth Representative of UELC and he  attended  the Youth Conference  held in Bangkok in Thailand for 4 days and the LWF Pre Assembly Conference in Hong Cong .  . On return  Rev.T. Samuel worked as a Pastor in IELC Churches and Rev T. Samuel was ordained on 3rd February 2001. He started his regular  ministerial career as a full time IELC pastor at Thirupattur in the year 2001 . In 2002 Rev. T. Samuel pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pastoral Counselling  at the Bethestha Hospital Ambur and passed his Post Graduate  Diploma course in 2003. . Then he served as a devoted IELC pastor in the  Calvary Lutheran Church Thirupattur and then he went To UTC to do his M.Th and while he was doing his M.Th, in UTC,  Rev Samuel, B.Com, B.D, served as an Assistant and in- charge Pastor at Gethsemane IELC Lutheran Church in Bangalore for three years [2004- 2007 ]. .After  having passed his M.Th he served as an  IELC Pastor at the Reedeemer Lutheran Church, kaveripattinam  and Trinity Lutheran Church, Vinnamangalam, for nearly seven years.. [ 2007 -- 2014]. In 2014 he assumed charge as pastor at the Good Shepherd Church Ayanavaram, Chennai and served in that Church with distinction for nearly seven years. [ 2014--2020 ]. . Then he worked as the Pastor at the Naether Memorial Lutheran Church [IELC]  Ambur, for nearly 4 years [  [2020--2023 ] and won the hearts of the people by his thought provoking Sermons. . Rev Dr.T. Samuel had the privilege to work as a Visiting Lecturer at the famous Gurukal Theological College and Research Institute Chennai. . Recently he was appointed by the IELC President to work as a Professor at the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil.  Rev Dr. T. Samuel, B.Com, B.D, M.Th, Ph.D  is working as Academic Dean at the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil  with great zeal and efficacy. 

Conclusion         : Rev. Dr. T. Samuel is  one of the great Theologians in IELC and Tamil Nadu  He hails from a sincere devoted  I.E.L.C  Christian family from Govindapuram Village, Vaniyampadi. . He always connects his Sermons with the current social issues , he loves both God and fellow human beings. He always strives to increase his worldly and theological knowledge by reading books and we can say that  he is a Lover of Books.  He is blessed with a blissful  family. and he loves his family so much.Rev.Dr. T. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas Joined as an Assistant Professor of Physics at  Ethiraj College   for Women Chennai   :  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas wanted to join as an Assistant Professor  of Physics in a Women's College in Chennai and she made a survey and  she found a vacancy for the same in the Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai  So  she applied for the same and she was selected and appointed as an .Assistant Professor of Physics, by the Management of the  Ethiraj College for Women on the 2nd July 1977 .

The Founder of the Ethiraj College for Women Sri. V.L.Ethiraj was an eminent Advocate, great Educationist and visionary Philanthropist . Ethiraj College for women is managed by the Ethiraj College Trust. It was founded  in 1948 by  barrister Sri. V.L. Ethiraj of Vellore.  Sri. V. L. Ethiraj  was called as  "A Prince  among Donors, a Genius among Lawyers, a Gentleman to his finger tips and he was a Guardian Spirit who benevolently identified himself with its [ Ethiraj College for Women]  growth and watched over its destinies, identifying himself with its every activity,  success and  progress, guiding its path through the stress and strains of the infancy into  the peaceful halcyon days of youth . He saw the vision of many generations of young women passing through the portals of his College, carrying with them the light from the beacon into a dark world of ignorance and superstition . He had a tireless industry , unerring foresight and uncanny knowledge of men and matter ".  Ethiraj College of Arts and Sciences for Women, Chennai is an outstanding and lasting monumental witness for  the visionary greatness of its remarkable Founder Sri. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas served as an Efficacious N.C.C. Officer    : When Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas joined Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai  as an Assistant Professor of Physics , the then Principal of the College Ms. K. Vasanthi Devi [ Ms .K Vasanthi Devi was the first Vice-Chancellor of the Mother  Teresa Women's University, Kodaikanal  ] asked Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas to work also as the N.C.C officer of the College. As Dr Rani was aware of the fact that the College Management gives additional responsibilities only to efficacious and hard working Staff,  she accepted the demand made by the  Principal Prof. Vasanthi Devi. Within a short span of time Dr. Rani became  popular in the College.  In this connection Dr. Rani underwent a Training in the Women's Officer Training School in Gwalior and on successful completion of the Training  she was conferred with  the rank of  Second Lieutenant in the year 1978 . As an N.C.C officer Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas was in charge of all the N.C.C, Cadets of Ethiraj College for Women , and she supervised the N.C.C Parades, Training Map Reading, Riffle Shooting, First Aid for wounded soldiers and Leadership Training conducted by the Jawans from N.C.C Office . The Office of the N,C.C run by Army Staff was away from the College somewhere in the City. The Army used to send communications to Second Lieutenant Dr. Rani and she carried out them in the College with  Principal's permission . Ethiraj College for Women's N.C.C Cadets were smart and many of them got selected to attend the Youth Exchange Programme conducted in foreign  countries like England, Singapore ,etc , under her guidance. Many N.C.C. Cadets  from Ethiraj College for Women Chennai, were selected to attend the prestigious Mountaineering Camps and Leadership camps. The Principal appreciated Second Lieutenant Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's commendable work and thanked Dr. Rani Cristhu Dhas, in her College Day speeches. After attending a Refresher Course conducted by the N.C.C Women's Officers Training School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh   second  Lieutenant Rani was promoted as Lieutenant in the year 1987.

Dr. Rani Registered for Part Time Research   ;    Dr. Rani Christhau Dhas had been  working as an Assistant Professor  with great efficiency and enthusiasm , but in line with her burning ambition she wanted to do Research in Physics.  After the Government permitted Assistant Professors to do Part Time  Research, she joined to do Part Time Research in Growth and Characterisation of single crystals under the guidance of Professor F.D.Gnanam,  Head, Material Science Department, Anna University , Guindy, in the year 1986.  Hence Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas quit her  N.C.C. Officer post in 1990 for want of time. As soon as Dr. Rani quit her N.C.C officer post  , the College Management asked  Assistant Professor Ms Rani to be the H.O.D in charge   of  the newly started B.Sc Computer Science department in the Self Financing wing [ Shift II  ] of the college . This was her second additional responsibility . Dr. Rani was asked to accept the additional responsibility  and she did so.  . In this new situation Dr. Rani  worked  as the Head of the B.Sc Computer Science department and also  did her  Part Time Research along with her regular  work in the Physics department. She managed her new responsibilities wonderfully .As she was blessed with a sharp Research mind and hard working capacity she  successfully completed her Research work in 1993.

Asst.Prof Ms Rani Christhu Dhas Passed her PGDCA in 1995. :  In the year 1993 Asst Prof Ms Rani joined her PGDCA Correspondence Course in Alagappa University Karaikudi, and passed her P.G.D.C.A Examination  in 1995  in First Class . Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas is a great reader and she is blessed with natural thirst for knowledge . She attended 2 Refresher Courses in Physics in the University of Madras  and 4 Quality improvement programmes in Computer Science at Technical Teachers Training Institute at Tharamani, Chennai. 

Ms. Rani Christhu Dhas  Presented her Second Research Paper in the  9th American Conference on Crystal Growth held in USA    Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas'  two Research Papers were published in two international journals namely,[1] Journal on Material Sciences and [2] Journal of  Crystal Growth ; and  two more Research Papers were published in Indian Research Journals. Ms Dr.  Rani Chrithu Dhas  was invited to give  oral presentation of her Research work on the Second Single Crystal in the family of Ammonium Fluoro Antimonates., in the  9th American Conference on Crystal Growth conducted at Hyatt Regency Inner Harbour , Baltimore in Maryland, USA. .The  Management of Ehthiraj College for Women Chennai sanctioned Rs.10000= in appreciation of her Research Work being accepted for Oral Presentation in the foreign Conference in USA. Ms Rani Christhudhas also got some Assistance form the Department of Science and Technology , New Delhi. Dr. Rani had no previous experience of visiting USA and so naturally she was  a bit nervous and at this situation luckily Dr. Rani's family Doctor Dr. Kowsalya Murthy found a friend of her daughter staying in Maryland , USA and she agreed  to pick up Dr Rani Christhu Dhas at the Airport and to take Ms Rani Christhu Dhas to Baltimore next day. .

Ms Rani Christhu Dhas attended the Conference held in Baltimore, USA    : On reaching Baltimore , Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas straight way went to the YMCA Hostel in  Baltimore and requested for accommodation for one week and she was allowed  to stay in the YMCA Hostel for one week . Ms Rani Christhu Dhas attended the Conference on Crystal Growth from 1-6 August 1993 and she orally presented her Research Paper, " Growth and Characterisation of Single Crystals",  boldly and candidly and her oral  presentation of her Research Work was well appreciated by the brilliant participants. After the presentation of her Research Paper, the friend who picked up Dr.Rani at the Airport again picked up Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas to stay with her in her house till the day of Dr. Rani's  return to India . During Rani's stay with her friend, she  took Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas to Washington D C and Dr. Rani had  the opportunity to visit Washington Museum and some other important places in Washington DC.. On the 14th August 1993 Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas  boarded  the flight for India and reached her home in Chennai safely and happily. 

Ms Rani Christhu Dhas Received her Ph.D. degree   : Assistant Prof Ms. Rani Christhu Dhas submitted her Research Thesis to the Examiners  and her Research Work was highly commended by the Examiners. Assistant Professor Ms Rani Christhu Dhahs  received her prestigious Ph.D degree in the year 1995 in the Convocation ceremony held at Anna University.Chennai.

Dr. Rani became the Head of the Physics Department in Ethiraj College  : Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas had been serving in Ethiraj College for Women from 2nd July 1977  with great distinctive efficiency  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas  became the HOD of Physics Department in 2005. and as she functioned as an excellent Teacher and HOD of the Physics department she won the Best Teacher award in 2009 just before her Retirement. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas  retired in 2009 as an Associate Professor of Physics.

Dr. Rani was appointed as the Controller of Examination of Ethiraj Collge for Women :  In the year 2007 the Management of the Ethiraj College for Women, asked Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas to work as the Controller of Examination of Ethiraj College for Women [ Autonomous] and Dr. Rani accepted the additional responsibility  and discharged her duties with great devotion and distinction. .In the  Controller's office there were  7  Staff under her supervision, who assisted her  to  

* Call for questions from Examiners for all the papers written in that particular semester.

* Feed the question papers into the computer and then make the printed copies.

*  Call experts to correct the printed copies .

*  Feed the corrections in the respective question papers in the computers .

* Reprint them and check them once more for any correction  in the format of the question papers.. 

* The corrections must be fed into the computers and then final question papers are printed for the examination .

* After the examination arrangements for valuation of the answer papers with external examiners done.

* The  marks  are fed into the Computers and Mark Sheets are printed.

* The marks of the students are discussed for any moderation in a meeting with one representative from the Trust Board , Principal, and HODs . 

As Controller of Examination Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas discharged all of her responsibilities efficaciously.

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas was the main person in setting the Physics Electronics Lab for B.SC students in 1981 and also the Computer Lab in 1990 : When she became the Controller of Examinations she re arranged the COE office and made it comfortable to work for the Staff, meet Lecturers and Students and to supervise the staff of the office and to store the question papers and answer sheets. The work was very much appreciated by everyone. She successfully functioned as Controller of Examinations of Ethiraj College for Women. Chennai , till January 2010. and won the appreciation of the Management, Staff  and Students of the Ethiraj College for women .  She retired from the Post of Controller of Examination in January 2010, because she had to go to Canada to help her daughter Ms Agnes Subha Jeyabalan  during the delivery of her second daughter .

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's Parents and Birth   :  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas' native place  Chitharal is a beautiful historical village in Kanyakumari District and Chirtharal is famous for its  nearby  historical  Chitharal Rock Jain Temple [Malaikovil ]  . Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas' beloved father  Mr M.A. Thankaiyan was a native of this historical village and in this historical Village Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's smart father Mr.  M.A. Thankaiyan  started his connubial life with his beloved wife Ms K. Palammal . It will be useful to the readers to read a few lines about Mr. M.A. Thankaiyan here, Mr Thankaiyan was not only an intelligent man but also a patriotic man and so after having successfully completed his S.S.L.C, he  joined the famous Indian Air Force as a Radar Mechanic .and by virtue of his hard and devoted work he rose to the position of Master Warrant Officer before his retirement.   Mr. M.A. Thankaiyan and Mrs K. Pallammal Thankaiyan couple gave birth to their daughter Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas on 25th of October, 1951.  Mr.M.A. Thankaiyan valued the importance of Education than anything else and so he did his best to give the best possible education to all of his children including his daughter Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas .

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's Siblings   :Mr. M.A Thankaiyan and Mrs. K. Palammal couple gave birth to the following children namely : [1]Ms. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas, [The heroine of this Article] [2] Ms. Ramani , B.Sc[ Physics] and she worked in B.S.N.L Nagercoil  and retired as Senior Accountant , [3] late Mr. Rajamani, B.A, B.L, and he worked as General Manager , G.J. Multiclave India , Pvt, Ltd, Hyderabad Division  [4] Ms. Chinthamani , B.Com, and she retired as Support Master, Postal Department  ,[5] Mr. Jeyaraj, A.M.I.E, and  he works as General Manager , G.J. Multiclave India Pvt Ltd, Kerala Division  and [6]  Ms Jeyarani, B.Sc[ Agriculture] and she works as Cane Officer, Thiruthani Co-Operative Sugar Mills .

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's High School education    :  While  Ms. Rani was doing her 6th Standard her father Mr. M.A. Thankaiyan wanted to take her mother and younger siblings to  his Work Place and so Ms. Dr Rani was admitted in the VII  Std in the famous St. Joseph's Convent High Nagercoil in the year 1962. While  Ms Rani Christhu Dhas was studying in the St. Joseph's convent she happened to meet her life long dear friend Ms Ann Vanitha in the year 1963 and afterwards there is no turning back and their friendship continues till date. Dr Rani's friend Vanitha introduced Jesus Christ to Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas by presenting a copy of the Holy Bible in the year 1963. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas was a very intelligent student and she excelled in Mathematics, Sciences and English . She bagged Proficiency Prizes unfailingly in the Annual  School Day celebrations . . The then School Head Mistress Rev. Sr. Landerada considered and consented the request made by Mr. M.A. Thankaiyan  and gladly permitted  Ms Rani to study XI  Std in English Medium.  Dr. Rani continued her High School studies as a Boarding Student. Unexpectedly Dr.Rani's father Mr Thankaiyan was posted to work at the Air Force Radar Station in Calcutta during the Indo Pakisthan war and Ms Dr. Rani  became very much  worried about the safety of her beloved father and so Ms.Rani used to go into the St.Joseph's Convent School Chapel and pray to Jesus and Mother Mary for the safety of her beloved father . The war ended and her father was safe and naturally Dr. Rani became grateful to Jesus and her faith in Jesus Christ started to grow day by day.. Dr. Rani passed her S.S.L.C examination with flying colours in the year 1967.. 

Dr. Rani's Collegiate Education  : After having passed her S.S.L.C with high marks  Dr. Rani pursued her P.U.C at the famous Holy Cross College , Nagercoil and passed her P.U.C in the year 1968 meritoriously.  Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas pursued her B.Sc[ Physics] in Holy Cross College Nagercoil  and  as she was a brilliant  and well behaved student she was awarded the Best Outgoing Student Award while she was doing her Third Year B.Sc[ Physics]. Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas passed her B.Sc[ Physics] final year examination with flying coloursin 1971.  With the consent and blessings  of her beloved parents Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas pursued her M.Sc[ Physics ] at the prestigious Seetha Laksmi Ramasamy College in Trichy and passed her M.Sc[ Physics] scoring laudable marks.  

The Beginning of Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's Professional Career   :     After having passed her M.Sc[ Physics] with flying colours , Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas applied for a Physics Lecturer post in the famous Holy Cross College , Trichy and she was selected and appointed as a Physics Lecturer in the Holy Cross College , Trichy in 1973.:Though Dr. Rani liked her teaching job so much , she quit her Lecturer Post in the Holy Cross College Trichy, to do research in line with her burning ambition,in the Madras University . But her attempt was not successful and so Dr. Rani joined the Emerald Heights College for Women Ooty as a Physics Lecturer .

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas's  Wedding  with Mr. Christhu Dhas      : While Dr. Rani was working as a Physics Lecturer in the famous Emerald Heights College for Women in  Ooty [ Bharathiar University]  she married Mr. Christhu Dhas on the 7th June, 1976. . Mr. Christhu Dhas was then working as an Auditor in the office of the Accountant General, Madras. At the end her second year in the Emerald heights College, Ooty , Ms. Rani Christhu Dhas resigned her job in the Emerald Heights College and  started her conjugal life in Chennai with her beloved husband Mr . Christhu Dhas

Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas and Mr Christhu Dhas Couple's Children   : Mr. Christhu Dhas and Ms Dr. Rani Christhu Dhas Couple is blessed with all the connubial blessings and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :[1] Ms. Agnes Subha Jacob and she studied at Scared Heart HSS, Church Park,  and she did her B.E [ Computer Science] at Velammal Engineering college. .After having passed her B.E[ Computer Science ] meritoriously she worked as a Lecturer in the prestigious SRM Engineering college, Chennai for two years . She married Mr. Jacob Jayabalan, B.E [ Mechanical ] and Mr. Jayabalan and Ms Agnes Subha Jacob Jayaabalan couple is blessed with 2 cute daughters and all of them are currently living in Canada , Mr Jayabalan and Ms Agnes Subha Jayabalan couple is running their own Company in Canada,and [2] Mr. Vijay Christopher Dhas studied at Don Bosco HSS and after having passed his Plus Two examination meritoriously he successfully completed his B.Sc[ Viscom] course at the prestigious Loyola College Chennai . Then Mr Vijay Christopher Dhas did his MBA at I.C.F.A.I , and meritoriously passed his M.B.A final year examination. Now he is working as a  Vice President in one of the I.T. companies  "K7   Computing " at Sholinganallur, Chennai. He is married to Ms Regi Belinda Antony and she works in "Oracle " as Principal Analyst .Mr Vijay Christopher Dhas  and Ms Regi Belinda Antony couple is blessed with two smart children studying in good Schools. .
