Jackson kalyanasundaram, B.A, B.C.S, M.S.W[ Rev. A. Sundaram named his son as Jackson, as a token of his love, respect and gratitude for late Rev Dr.B.H. Jackayya . Mr. Jackson kalyanasundaram married Dr. Ms. C. Jessie, B.E.M.S, and this couple gave birth to  a lovely female child. Mr. Jackson and Dr. Jessie Jackson, as per the wish of Rev. A. Sundaram, christened their daughter as "Ruth Serene Victoria" in memory Rev. A. Sundaram's College mate Dr. Lynda Serene Jones, at the  Yale Divinity School, Yale University .. Currently Dr. Lynda Serene Jones serves as the President and Johnston Family Professor for Religion and Democracy at Union Theological College in the city of New York. U.S.A,.[2] Ms. S. Rev. A. Sundaram's Clerical [Pastoral]   Track   :.. After having finished his basic theological studies and training Rev.A. Sundaram  was ordained as a Probationary Lutheran  Pastor of the Church[ IELC} at Thirunagar, Madurai,  under the guidance and supervision of L.C.M.S. Missionary Rev. Arnold Lutz . Rev. A. Sundaram successfully completed his Probationary period [ 1975-1976] and was confirmed as a regular ordained IELC Pastor. . As Rev. A Sundaram was having a fluent  command over English and sound  hold on theology, he got the privilege to work as an Associate Pastor of the Reformation Lutheran Church , Brookfield , WI, USA ,from September 1976 to June 1978. Then  Rev A Sundaram served as Pastor of Charalvilai pastorate and Thoothukudi pastorate with great distinction,

Rev A. Sundaram was the First Third World Divinity Scholar of Yale University.   : Rev. A Sundaram joined the Concordia Theological Seminary, Nagercoil  as a Professor of New Testament and Greek on December 15, 1981.  and won the love and respect of the students .In line with his natural quest for knowledge Rev. A. Sundaram longed to pursue his S.T.M. at the prestigious Yale Divinity School, Yale University, New York. . The qualifying Entrance Examination for S,T,M, at the Yale Divinity School ,  was so difficult and moreover only one seat was allotted for the Asian continent. In this Context Rev. Sundaram wrote the qualifying Entrance Examination for the  S.T.M. course, at the  Yale Divinity School  and he passed the examination by scoring the highest marks and got admission to the Yale Divinity School in 1984. Our Ordinary Ammachikovil  boy Rev A. Sundaram got  the blessed  privilege to  pursue his Master of Sacred Theology [ STM] in the Yale University, USA. While studying at the Yale Divinity School, Rev. Sundaram had the opportunity to meet some  remarkable fellow students in the Yale University Campus, one such student  was Dr. Lynda Serene Jones. Dr. Lynda Serene Jones made lasting impact on the mind of Rev..A. Sundaram by her intellect.   Rev. A. Sundaram was a brilliant student and he passed his STM examination in  A plus grade.  Mr Jackson told the Blogger that Rev. Sundaram's Photo is proudly hanging on a wall of a hall of  Yale University by the side of some illustrious people like Sri. C.N. Annadurai  [ Mr. S.Jackson told me that Former President of IELC Rev. Dr. J.Samuel told this  great news to him ] 

                                CONCORIA THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY NAGERCOIL

Rev.A. Sundaram served at the CTS Nagercoil  as a Professor [1981- 2010] :  Rev. A. Sundaram served as Professor of New testament and Greek at the Concordia Theological Seminary from 15th December 1981 till  4th November 2010 with great distinction and efficacy. Really Rev. A. Sundaram was an expert in teaching the Greek. According to his old Student Rev.Chakravarthy  Kumanan, Rev. Sundaram was a blessing to the theological world especially to the IELC.and he calls Prof.Rev. A. Sundaram as a Maverick Theologian. Rev,C. Kumanan writes about Prof.Rev Sundaram  that he was sharp in teaching theology especially the teaching and Theology of St. Paul in the New Testament. Rev Kumanan  continues that Rev. Sundaram gave a new dimension to the 7 genuine letters of St,Paul . and says that he understood the Christian Doctrines found in the letters of St. Paul to Roman, only because of Prof.Rev Sundaram's candid and convincing  teaching and calls Prof. A. Sundaram , a Specialist in Exegesis. Rev.Chakaravarthy Kumanan also writes that he enjoyed  Prof.Rev. Sundaram's post-mortem in the Greek Language which took the students of the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil to new height . The way Prof Sundaram  expounded and interpreted  the New Testament  won the hearts of his students .  During that period of time Rev. Dr. B.H.Jackayya was the Principal of the Concordia Theological Seminary ,and  Rev.A. Sundaram had the privilege to work with the following Professors at the Concordia Theological Seminary Nagercoil, namely :- [1] Rev.Dr. J.C. . Gamaliel, [2]Rev. Dr.A.  Rajaian, [3] Rev. Robert Rajasekaran, [4] Rev.T. Joy, [5] Rev. Joshua Sironmony, [6] Rev. Dr. Monickaraj, [7] Rev Dr. Rajendra Babu, [8] Rev. Dr. Indranath Stanley,  [9]Re,Rev Dr. Jeremiah Anderson, etc .After having served at the Concordia Theological Seminary as a Professor for nearly 30 years . Rev. A. Sundaram retired of the 4th November 2010.

Important Positions and Offices Held by Re.A. Sundaram in IELC:   In the IELC. Rev A. Sundaram had the privilege to hold and decorate some very important offices and positions  namely :-[1] Synod Executive Committee Member,Nagercoil Synod, IELC ,[2] Co Treasurera , Nagercoil Synod,  [3] Secretary Cum Treasurer, IELC Trust Association Rev.   Rev. A. Sundaram was elected as the Secretary cum Treasurer of the I.E..L.C. Trust Association and he served in that capacity  for two terms from 1986 till 1992, under former IELC Presidets Rev.John Rose and Rev Isaac Moon  with great efficiency .[4] Secretary, Matching Grant Fund, IELC, [5] President,Pastors Conference, Nagaercoil Synod, I.E.L.C, [6] Bursar , Concordia Theological Seminary , Nagercoil and [7] Academic Dean, Concordia Theological Seminary, Nagercoil .

Conclusion   :       Rev.   A. Sundaram was a Remarkable Man, a great Theologian, an outstanding  New Testament Scholar  and an excellent Greek Teacher,.Physically he is not living with us today yet he lives in our minds.  He was a versatile personality and a shrewd independent thinker and we can call him a Maverick Theologian . He was a Linguist and had a commendable command over  English, Tamil, Greek and German . He was a compassionate Teacher and he cared for the total progress,  development and welfare  of his students, and he was an easily accessible Professor and pastor.. Because of his excellent Teaching efficacy,  humane attitude, unassuming nature, and compassionate nature  etc he became very popular among his Students, Colleagues , Christian believers and fellow human-beings. His enviable reach from Ammachikovil to the intellectual citadels of Yale University, USA,spontaneously galvanises the last and lost  man with a new  hope to reach unimaginable places and heights in Life.. Prof. Rev A. Sundaram was a creative person and he had written many Articles in English and Tamil and also have authored a book titled "Baptism" and also had translated the historical  Reports [ That requested the British Govt to give lands to the landless people ] of the British Collector of Chengalpet district Mr.J..H..A. Tremenhere ,  from English to Tamil, for a Tamil Publication company.  .Rev. A. Sundaram  died on 4th November 2011 and his mortal remains were interred in the Nagercoil Calvary Lutheran Church cemetery. It is not possible to accommodate all the chapters of his real life story within the space of this article so I will end this Article  with a single sentence., ' "Dear Prof. Rev. A. Rev.A. Sundaram's Parents and His Birth and his Native Village    : Ammachikovil is an enchanting idyllic village and it lies between Panagudi and Vallioor in Thirunelveli District and this tiny village Ammachikovil  is surrounded by paddy fields and coconut trees. Some decades ago  in Ammachi Kovil there lived a gentleman by name Mr V. Arumugam  with his beloved  wife by name Mrs. U. Palammal and God blessed this lovely couple with all the conjugal blessings and this couple gave birth to  Rev. A. Sundaram on 5th October , 1948 . Rev Sundaram's mother  Ms U. Palmmal, Rev. U. Jacob [ father of former IELC Treasurer Mr. Gnan Jothi]  and Mr. kanakaraj [ father of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Sundaram ] were siblings.  It will be useful to the readers and micro historians to get some more information about Ammachikovil Village. .Definitley Anmmachi Kovil has been progressing economically and educationally during the  last five  decades. The  MELIM  Primary School and the IELC Messiah Lutheran Church in Ammachi Kovil are directly connected with the educational, social and religious advancement of Ammachikovil.. It is appropriate to remember one fact here that Rev. A. Sundaram a former student  of the MELIM Primary School at Ammachikovil later became a student of "Master of Sacred Theology" course at the world famous Yale University,U.S.A  . Ammachil Kovil has  produced  four Lutheran Pastors including Prof. Rev A. Sundaram, B.Sc, B.D, S.T.M.,[ Yale I University]. Some   people from Ammachi Kovil are working in foreign countries. It has produced  a lady  Civil Magistrate and  definitely she will become minimum a District and Sessions Judge before her retirement. . The younger generation is doing well in their education with more responsibility and goals .. All old houses of the village have been replaced by beautiful concrete houses and today Ammachikovil looks fresh and beautiful.

Rev. A. Sundaram's Educational Track   : .  Rev. A. Sundaram pursued his Primary School education at the MELIM Primary School , Ammachikoil , South Valliyoor and did his High School studies at the famous Sankar Reddiyar Government High School[Now it is a Higher Secondary School], in Naguneri, Thirunelveli District and he passed his S.S.L.C meritoriously and  in S.S.L.C.  Govt Examination Mr.A Sundaram stood First in the undivided Thirunelveli district and thereby he won Merit Scholarship from the Ministry of Education of the Union Government of India  for his collegiate studies[1965- 1968] .  He pursued his under graduate studies at the famous St John's college and passed his B.Sc degree in May 1969. 

Rev. A. Sundaram's Theological Educational Track  : After having passed his B.Sc, Rev. A. Sundaram pursued his B.D at the Tamilnadu Theological College, Madurai[ Affiliated to Serampore University] and passed his B.D in April 1974.. While he was studying his B.D in T.T.C , Madurai Rev. Dr. Samuel Amirtham was serving as the Principal of T.T.C Madurai. Moreover during that period  Mr.V. Devasahayam of Madras CSI Diocese ,was his B.D Class mate and Mr. V. Devasahaym later served in the Madras CSI Diocese as an ordained Pastor and he was consecrated and installed in 1999 as the  Bishop of Madras CSI Diocese  [1999 to 2014..] . Great Theologians like . Dr. Samuel Amirtham, Dr. Dhyanchand Carr , Dr. Daynandan Francis were working as Teachers of Rev A. Sundaram ,in  T.T.C. Madurai. Moreover Rev A. Sundaram had the privilege to serve as the Chairman of the Students Association of T.T.C, Maduaai, while he was doing his Final year B.D. After having passed his B.D, Rev A Sundaram was selected in 1975 as an Exchange Visitor to Germany's Missions Academy and he visited and stayed in Germany [ September--October, 1975]

RevA. Sundaram's Wedding         :    Rev. A. Sundaram married his maternal uncle Mr. Kanagaraj's cute daughter Ms K. Mary Elizabeth on 24 April 1974 and this marriage was solemnised at the Messiah Lutheran Church , Ammachikovil and God blessed this couple with all the conjugal blessings .

Many decades  ago there lived a gentleman by name Mr Subbaih with his wife Ms Mariamma in Krishnanputhur village and this couple gave birth to a son by name  Mr. Masillamani. Mr Masillamani married an elegant lady by name  Ms Natchathiram and Mr. Masillamani and Mrs Naatchathiram Masillamani couple gave birth to the following children namely ;[1] Mr. Swarnadas, [ The father of Ms Gnancy Starlet], [2] Mr. Janarthana Das, [3] Mr. Chandrassekara Das[ he retired as Assistant Director of Hand-looms and Textiles, Govt of Tamil Nadu,], [4] Mr. Manoharadhas, [5] Ms Manon Mani  , [6] Ms Pushpavathi and [7]Mr. Mohan Das. Mr.M. Swarnadas married Ms Mary Nallammal and this couple gave birth to Ms Gnancy Starlet on the 2nd October,1974,. . Mr. Swarnadas before moving to Kuwait  he worked as a Commercial Accountant at  the Office of the Regional Deputy Director of Industries and Commerce , Pattai and later he moved to Kuwait and worked as Finance Manager  in a famous Finance company called United Trading group- Foreign exchange [ U.T.G,. ] , Kuwait and after retirement he returned from Kuwait to his native place in Kanyakumari District, India . Ms Gnancy Starlet's mother Ms. Mary Nallammal Swarnadas worked as a Staff Nurse at the Govt Maternity Hospital, Kuwait and after her retirement she returned to India.

Ms. Gnancy Starlet's Educational Track and Professional Track Phase I;: Ms Gnancy Starlet studied successfully  up to her 5th class in Kuwait and then she pursued her Middle School education , High School education and Plus Two education at the famous St Joseph's Convent, Nagercoil . After having passed her Plus Two Govt examination with good marks she pursued her B.Sc[ Nursing] at the prestigious  Christian Medical College, Vellore, [C.M.C, Vellore] . And after having passed her B.Sc Nursing in 1996  she  worked one year[ 1996-1997]  as a Staff Nurse in  the CMC Hospital , Vellore .. After that she worked  in the Catherine .Booth Hospital, Nagercoil[C.B.H]  as a Nursing Tutor for two years [ 1997-1999] .Then  she pursued her M.Sc[ Nursing] in the prestigious Christian Medical College , Vellore and  passed her M.Sc[ Nursing] meritoriously in the year 2001. .

Ms. Gnancy Starlet's Husband  and Daughter   :Ms. Gnancy Starlet married Mr M. Wesley, B.Sc, [ Mathematics],  son of Mr Money and Ms Kamalam Money of Nagercoil ,on 4th September 2002 and her marriage was solemnised at the C.S.I. Home Church at Kottaram , Agastheeswaram Taluk . God blessed Ms. Gnancy Starlet and Mr M. Wesley with all the conjugal blessings and this couple gave birth to a lovely daughter by name Ms.Melinda Ruth Kamaly and she is doing her Doctor of Pharmacy [ Pharm.D.] .Mr. M. Wesley joined as a Junior Assistant in Indian Bank and then pursued promotion examinations and passed the C.A.I.I.B. and got promoted to the Officer cadre. and now he is holding to the post of Senior Manager Grade 3 , and is working in the Indian bank,City Branch of Bangalore.

Ms.S. Gnancy Starlet's Professional  Track , Phase II   : After having passed her M.Sc[ Nursing, C.M.C, Vellore in 2001,  Ms. Gnancy Starlet joined the Apollo College of Nursing,Chennai,  as Assistant Professor of Nursing in 2001 in Child Health Nursing Department and in 2004 she got promoted as Associate Professor . Then in 2004 she joined Shova Rani Nursing College , which is a part of KPC Medical College and  Hospital in Kolkata as Associate Professor and worked till 2007 with distinction. .In November 2007,  Ms Gnancy Starlet joined the Ministry of Health, Sohar Nursing Institute in Oman. as Senior Nurse Trainer . From 2007 to 2019 , she worked in different positions and assumed various responsibilities, one of which was the Chairman of Anatomy and Physiology curriculum of all Nursing Schools in Oman.  

In 2019 she returned to Catherine Booth Hospital, Nagercoil and worked as Nurse Educator and N.A.B.H. Coordinator [ National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Health Providers] with devotion and efficacy.  She and her Team worked night and day for three years from 2019  to 2022 and achieved the National Accreditation for Catherine Booth Hospital, Nagercoil .Due to this accreditation C.B.H has proven to maintain the national Standards of Hospitals in India . In September 2022 she moved to Bangalore to assume responsibility as the Secretary of, Board of Nursing Examination of the Nurses League of the Christian Medical Association of India[ South India Branch] .

Ms. Gnancy Starlet Currently works as Secretary of BNESIB of CMAI.  : Since 1st September 2022, Ms.S.Gnancy Starlet has been working as Secretary of , Board of Nursing of the Nurses League of the Christian Medical Association of India [ South India Branch] with great devotion , and efficacy. It would be appropriate to say a few lines about the B.N.E.S.I.B OF C,M,A,I.. The Board of Nursing  Examination of the Nurses League of the CMAI[ South India Branch] had passed though many process and name changes and finally in 1975 the immediately previous name, "Examining Board of the Nurses League of CMAI[SIB] " was changed into what is today as, " Board of Nursing Education of the Nurses League of the Christian Medical Association of India [ South India Branch]. The BNESIB of CMAI, strives to impart quality Nursing Education through its affiliated institutions without distinction on the basis of religion, caste or creed. Its main function is to coordinate and bring uniform standard of Nursing education in South India under the Board in accordance with the requirements of the State Nurses and Midwives Councils and Indian Nursing Council, etc, As Secretary of  BNESIB of CMAI, Ms Gnancy Starlet's main functions are:- [1] Controller of Diploma Nursing Examination of the Nursing schools of B.N.E.S.I.B of CMAI   [2]Approval of new Nursing Schools, and renewal of Existing Schools of Nursing of the CMAI, [3] provide Certification and Marks Card after completing the schools , [4] Provide Migration Certificate,  Local and Foreign Verification of  Certificates and Marks card of CMAI Nursing Schools , etc. and Ms Gnancy Starlet  has been discharging her official duties with great care, commitment and efficacy.

She is unassuming, she really cares for the patients and  her Nursing Students. She considers Medical and Nursing ministry to the ailing patients as a part of her Christian life and ministry. Muthuraj's  Parents and Birth   :   Chekkumoodu is  a beautiful idyllic village that lies on the lap of Western-ghats near Kulasekaram in Kanyakumari district and in that beautiful tiny village  there lived a gentleman by name Mr M.Asirvatham with his beloved wife Ms Abaranam and this  couple gave birth to Mr. Muthuraj in the year 1950.

Mr. A. Muthuraj's Siblings  ; God blessed Mr. C.M. Asirvatham and  Ms... G. Abaranam  with all the connubial blessings and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :-  [1]  Mr. A. Muthuraj [ The Hero of this article ] ,[2] Ms.A. Vimala Bai [ SSLC, ] and she is a good Home Maker and she married Mr P. Selvaraj [ He served in the Indian Air-Force and retired] and this couple gave birth to two children namely [a]Mr. Anish Prathab, B.E,and he married Ms Divya Dharshini, B.Sc,[Nursing] and this couple is working in Ireland and they are blessed with three cute daughters, [b] Ms Pratheeba Dolly [M.Sc[ Nursing] and she is working in Bermuda island and she has married Mr Vinoth Kumar , B.Sc and this couple is blessed with a cute daughter and a smart son ,  [3] Mr. Victor Sanjeevi. DMLT and he worked in Yemen as a Lab Technician and he married Ms Darling Padma and this couple is blessed with one son by name Mr Stalin Prabhu, B.Sc[ Nursing] and he married Ms Sneha , B.Sc [ Nursing], and they are working and living in Bermuda island, [ 4] Ms. Baby Saroja , M.A, and she married Mr. C. Vasantha Kumar, B.Sc, B.M.R.Sc,  and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :-[a] Ms Sheeba Janarthani, M.Tech, and she is currently working as an Engineer/Scientist 'F', in the prestigious Defence Research and Development Organisation [D.R.D.O], Government of India and she married Mr Joy, B.Sc, D.M.L.T, and both of them are living in Bangalore ,[b] Mr Kalanithi Sam, M.Sc [ Nursing] and he married Ms Catherin , B.Sc[ Nursing] and this couple gave birth to a son.  Mr. kalanitahi Sam  is working in Bermuda island, [5 ]Mr. A. Ebenezer , M.Sc { Chemistry] and he married Ms Priya , B.Sc [Nursing] and both of them are working in Bermuda Island and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :- [a] Ms. Abisha and she is a Research Student in USA and [b] Ms Anisha and she is doing her M.P.T. in London, UK, [6] Mr.A. Chandra Sekaran , B.A, Dip in Radiology and  he married Ms Suja Metilda, a Staff Nurse and both work in Bermuda  and this couple gave birth to the following children namely ;-[a] Ms. Dr. Anugraha and  she did her M.D. in U.K and currently she is working as a Medical Doctor in Scotland, UK  and [b] Ms Angelina and she is pursuing Law [ B.L] in London. 

Mr. A. Muthuraj's Educational Track  :-  Mr A. Muthuraj did his High School studies at the famous C.S.I.  Ringeltaube  Memorial  High School at Mylaudy and passed his SSLC in 1966. Then he did his P.U.C and B.A, at the famous ST Hindu College Nagercoil and passed his B.A .  After some years Mr. A. Muthuraj passed his M.A, degree , through Correspondence course 

Mr. A. Muthuraj Began His Professional Career   :.  After having passed his B.A, Mr .A , Muthuraj  wrote the state Service Commission Examination and he was selected for the post of Junior Assistant in the Highways Department , Govt of Tamil Nadu and he joined the Service  in the year 1972.   Mr. A, Muthuraj  started to work with great devotion and sincerity and  in the  due course of time he was promoted as Senior Assistant and then as Office Superintendent and finally he was promoted as Divisional Manger .He discharged his official duty with great efficacy and  retired in the year  2008. 

Mr. A. Muthuraj's  Wife and Children etc    :  Mr. A. Muthuraj married Ms Sundaravalli, M.A, M.Ed,[ daughter of SGT. Sundara Raj [ Indian Air Force]  and Mrs Rosmma ],in the year 1977 and God blessed Mr. A. Muthuraj and Mrs Sundaravalli Muthuraj  couple with all the conjugal blessings and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :-[a] Mr. Johnny Arrif , B.E, M.B.A and he married Ms Daffiney, M.Sc [ Nursing] and both of them are working in Kuwait  and this couple is blessed with two cute daughters,,[b] Ms. Jeny Roshmila , M.Sc[ Nursing]. M.B.A, M.S.W, and she married Mr Paul Immanuel Raj , B.E, M.B.A, and both of them are working in Bermuda Island and this couple is blessed with one smart son and one cute daughter . Mrs. Sundaravalli Muthuraj worked as a B.T. Assistant for many years in the S.A. Higher Secondary School , Vettoornimadam and retired as a B.T Assistant.  Mrs Sundaravalli Muthurajs' brother Mr Sundaram Pillai is a Physiotherapist and he worked in USA for many years and now he is a Citizen of USA . Mr Sundaram Pillai and his wife Mrs karuna Bai  are blessed with the following children namely;-[1] Ms. Sherila, B.A ,  and she married Mr. Zane Christian, and [2] Ms Rinu, B.D.S and she has married Mr Jery, B.E and this couple is blessed with a cute child . 

 

Conclusion   : Mr. A. Muthuraj is not only a hard Worker but also a Honest worker.. He believed that Education will not only empower people but also it will liberate people. He is a God fearing man and he played a main role  for the proper planning and construction of the Booth Tucker Memorial Church in , Vettoornimadam ,Nagercoil. God has blessed him and his children  and his siblings and their  families with all the blessings promised in the famous Psalm 128.. Now Mr. A. Muthuraj lives with his wife in his beautiful house located  in  Victory lane , Vettoornimadam, Nagercoil  He loved and respected his parents.  Dr. M.A. Thangaraj and his Wife  and Children :  The marriage of Dr. Manuel A .Thangaraj [ S/o Mr Amirhtavasagam and Mrs Navaneetham Amirthavasagam] with  Ms. Mary Monica Coelho [ D/o Mr.Dominic and Mrs Magdalene Coelho Dominic ] was solemnized at the Santhom  Cathedral in Madras on 29th December, 1948. This lovely couple was blessed with two sons namely ;[1] Arun Thangaraj , and [2]Suresh Bernard Thangaraj . But their second son was born as a mentally retarded  child   and his moving and challenging birth ,changed the goal and course of Thnangaraj couple's life.

Dr M.A. Thangaraj  moved to Madurai  from Madras Christian College, Tambaram to take charge as Principal of the American college : Dr. M.A Thangaraj assumed  charge as Principal of the famous American College Madurai in 1967 and served as a  visionary and innovative Principal  till his retirement in 1979. During his officiating period as Principal of American College, he   transformed and changed American College , Maduari, as one of the outstanding  and best colleges in India.

Dr. M.A Thangaraj  was called as one of the  Fathers of College Autonomy in  India: Dr Manuel .A. Thangaraj made American College, Madurai, as one of the first seven Autonomous Colleges in India. Dr Manuel Amirthavasagam Thangaraj was generally called  and known  in the college and friends' circle as M.A.T.. Dr. M.A Thangaraj ,was a creative and innovative thinker and educationist.. As Principal of the American College, in tune with his innovative thinking and vision , he took necessary  initiatives through proper channel and upgraded the American College, Madurai as one of the first seven the Autonomous Colleges in the whole India.  So Dr.M.A. Thangaraj  was called as one of the  Fathers of College Autonomy in India .

Dr.M.A.Thangaraj and his wife Mrs Mary Thangaraj founded Anbagam in Madurai :  The mental and physical condition of Thangraj Couple's  second son Suresh  deeply and adversely affected and impacted  Dr. Thangaraj and his beloved wife Ms Mary Thangaraj to a great  and irrecoverable level  and extent .As good compassionate Parents they empathised with all the mentally retarded Children. They both spontaneously thought to do some  ameliorating good service for the cause of mentally retarded Children, including their own beloved son Suresh. So as soon as they moved  to Madurai from Madras they founded Anbagam[ Home of Love] for the cause of the mentally retarded children in 1970 with 7 retarded children .Since then there was no turning back, Dr Thangaraj assumed charge as the First Director of Anbagam . Thangaraj couple's soul and mind were soulfully involved in the affairs of ANBAGAM.  Dr Thangaraj and his beloved wife Ms. Mary Monica Thangaraj with the support of their  friends and well wishers built their own Building for Anbagam . Every year the number of  children accommodated in Anbagam was increasing .[ A Separate Article will be written about Mrs Mary Thangaraj and Anbagam, later ]. After his retirement  in 1979 from the American College, Madurai , Dr M.A Thangaraj spent more time for the cause of mentally retarded children  and Ambagam 

Suresh Bernard Thangaraj Teachers Training College was started in 1991 by Dr Thangaraj:  Dr M.A .Thangaraj  as a innovative and creative thinker wanted to  start a Teachers  Training College  to impart special training to selected candidates to teach mentally retarded Children . So in 1991, SBTTC [Suresh Bernard Teachers Training College ], was started by Dr Thangarj in Madurai . And this Special Training College was affiliated with the Madurai Kamaraj University .Now this college offers B.Ed  degree course of special education to the students of this B.Ed college.

Books Written By Dr. Manueel A. Thangaraj : Dr Mauel A Thangaraj was a creative and scientific thinker so had written many valuable books; to cite a few:

[6] He was a Member of the Governing Board , International School, Kodaikanal [1985-1997],
[7] He also served as a Member of the Governing Board, Lady Doak College, Madurai[1986-1999],
[8] He also decorated the Chair of Christian India Program, United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia[1991-1997],

He served as U.P.S.C Examiner: The Union Public Service  Commission recognised his extraordinary knowledge in Physics and accordingly appointed him as  U.P.S.C Examiner.  Dr. Manuel A Thangaraj had the prestigious privilege to work as Examiner, Government of India, Public Service Commission [1958-1961]. Really it was great honour and recognition for Dr. Manuel A Thangarj.

Awards received: No doubt he was taller than all awards  .Yet, with great pleasure Dr. Manuel A Thangaraj received the National Pioneer Award  for Educational Innovation from the All India Association for Christian Higher Education , New Delhi, in 2000.

Conclusion : Dr. Manuel Amithavasagam Thangaraj was really one of the remarkable personalities and educationists  in India. He was born in humble and pious  christian Family and became one of the tallest Physicists  and Educationists of India . He was a great Physics teacher he was  an expert and adept in teaching Modern Physics to the B.Sc Final year students and Atomic Physics to the M.Sc students. He balanced his head and heart. Dr. M.A. Thangaraj played a pivotal role as its Co-Founder along with Fr.T.A. Mathias, Dr. Panavelil Thomas Chandy,  Dr. Chandran Devenesan, Fr. Herbert D'Souza, Archbishop Angelo Fernandes and Bishop Paulos Mar Gregorios, .for the formation of the All India Association for Christian Higher Education[ A.I.A.C.H.E] , in India and he also served as  President of the AIACHE [ 1973- 1975]. He never had any time to rest he used all the available time to the fullest use. He  had many reasons to be proud of himself ,  but the pitiable  and pathetic condition of the mentally retarded children was continuously cankering his inner mind and peace.The pathetic conditions of the mentally retarded children was killing his soul and solace bit by bit.  During the last days of his life, unfortunately Dr. M.A. Thangaraj was affected  with Myeclodyspalstic Syndrome and was slowly dying and he breathed his final breath on 26th December, 2003. He was really a great soul  and unique personality. He was an interesting ,inspiring and active person and  he loved reading and writing. He was a good Tennis Player  like the other members of his family and  he was a good singer and  he loved music very much. Very rarely we can have remarkable persons like  Dr Manuel A Thangaraj , in this world. who are remembered  and loved for their noble thoughts, service and accomplishments.

 Introduction :  Definitely late  Dr Manuel Amirthavasagam Thangaraj, MA, Ph.D,[Canada ] , of Erode , was one of the tallest  ,colorful and  intellectual Indians .He was one of the tallest Physicists and Educationists of India. Erode has produced some iconic and historical personalities like the great rationalist and social Reformer  Periyar E.V.Ramasamy,  world renowned mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujam, FRS and others . It is highly pertinent to state that in Erode only Mr Robert Amritraj, the father  of the outstanding International Tennis Players Amritraj brothers, was born.  Dr.M.A..Thangarj was  also privileged to born in such a historical town  Erode  in Tamil Nadu : Dr. Manuel A Thangaraj bought laurels to his home town by his manifold accomplishments. definitely Erode in Tamil Nadu can also be proud of the great Scientist, Educationist,Sports-lover, Author and Founder of Anbagam in Madurai,   Dr Manuel A Thangaraj.

M.A Thangaraj's Place of Birth and Parents.   Among the towns in Tamil Nadu and India the fertile and flourishing business town  Erode occupies one of the unique places and  it lies on the beautiful  bank of the historical  River Kaveri . Dr.Mauel A Thangaraj was  born at this historical town Erode to a pious Christian parents namely Mr.Amirthavasagam and Mrs. Navaneetham Amirthavasagam on 11th July , 1918.
Educational track of Mr.M.A Thangaraj: Mr. Manuel A. Thangaraj was a product of the famous Annamalai University.  Mr. Manuel .A .Thangaraj passed his B.Sc,with honors in Physics [ Annamalai University ] and passed his  M.A, in Physics with distinction  [Annamalai  University, Chidambaram ]

Mr Manuel A. Thangaraj joined as a Physics Lecturer at M.C.C, Tambaram , Chennai : After having passed his MA degree examination in Physics with distinction ,  Mr.M.A. Thangaraj  joined as Physics Lecturer at  the prestigious Madras Christian College, Tambaram , Madras[ Chennai] in 1939.  He taught Physics very convincingly and efficaciously  and won the hearts of his students.

M.A. Thangaraj Won The Prestigious  Scholarships for higher education:  While M.A. Thangaraj [ M.A.T} was working as a Physics Lecturer at the   Madras Christian College , his thirst for Knowledge urged him to pursue  his doctoral  studies in a foreign University and accordingly he applied for the famous Vincent Magassey Scholarship. and  he got the enviable Vincent Massey Scholarship for pursuing  a Doctorate[ Ph.D] degree at the famous Toronto University , Canada. However he could not reach the Toronto University until the end of the Second World war in 1945..  In the meantime he also got the prestigious and coveted Rhodes Scholarship at the famous Oxford  University, UK in 1945.

M.A .Thangaraj met his future wife Ms Mary Monica Coelho at Toronto University: Mr.M.A Thangaraj was doing his Ph.D in Physics ,at the Toronto University, Canada [1945 - 1948].During the same period Ms Mary Monica  of Madras, as a Rockfeller  Foundation Scholar was doing  her higher studies in Nursing in Toronto University . As a doctoral student Mr. M.A. Thangaraj was required to give some talk to the students of the Toronto University occasionally.. The smart and sweet  Ms Mary  Monica ardently attended the lectures of M..A. Thangaraj and used to ask so many questions to M.A Thangaraj. on his lectures. . Her questions  first disturbed  his head and finally it disturbed his heart  and gave him sleepless nights and this acquaintance ended in their Matrimony   in Madras at Santhome Church,.on 29th , December, 1948. It is appropriate to note here that even though Dr M.A. Thangaraj was a Protestant Christian he willingly married Ms Mary Monica , who was a Catholic christian . This marriage between  Dr M.A Thangaraj [Protestant Christian] and Ms Mary Monica Coelho[ Catholic Christain ]  affected his professional progress in Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Madras, to some extent .


.Dr. M.A. Thangaraj joined at the M.C.C, Tambaram ,Madras [Chennai]as H.O.D and Professor of Physics in 1948:  As a very  brilliant and creative  research student, Mr M.A. Thangaraj successfully completed his Ph.D, research program at the famous Toronto Research University, Canada,  and he was awarded the prestigious and enviable Ph.D degree in 1948. With great gladness, and satisfaction and vision he returned from Canada and reached Madras in 1948 and joined as Head of the Physics Department at the prestigious  Madras Christian College in 1948. Dr. M.A Thangaraj, as the Head of the Physics department , MCC, Tambaram , taught "Quantum Mechanics" to the Students candidly and efficaciously Dr. M.A. Thangaraj also taught Wireless and Electronics, candidly. It would be highly interesting to the readers to know a fact here during 1956-1957 , the Physics Syllabus was changed and the Syllabus was very difficult and none of the Physics staff were able to teach the new Physics syllabus in an efficient  way, but during this period Mr. Seshan, who later became an IAS Officer and retired as one of the most famous Chief Election Commissioners of India, was working as a  Physics Tutor at the M.C.C, Tambaram , as prudent Head of  Physics Department Dr. M.A Thangaraj correctly recognized the calibre and capability of the the Young Tutor Mr Seshan, M.Sc, and asked to him to teach the New Syllabus to the students and accordingly Mr Seshan taught the new Syllabus Lessons to the Students in an excellent and enviable way. Dr. M.A. Thangaraj was a great Researcher also.and he had a Research Project on Cosmic Rays. Prof. Dr. M.A. Thangaraj used to send Nuclear Emulsion Baloons into the Sky and received them after a while .  In the year 1958 it was announced that Sir C.V. Raman[  Winner of Nobel Prize for Physics  ] was going to deliver a Lecture at the famous Presidency College, Madras and Dr. M. A. Thangaraj asked all of his  Physics students  to attend the Lecture of Sir C,V, Raman in 1956. Dr. M.A. Thangaraj's simple and short sentenced Lectures on Physics, attracted, galvanised and helped  the Intermediate Physics Class students students to understand the Scientific outlook of the events recorded in the Bible, especially the morals recorded in the Old and New Testament .

Dr. M.A. Thangaraj Worked as the warden of the  St. Thomas Hall , MCC, Tambaram:  Dr. M.A. Thangaraj succeeded Rev. Macnicol as the Warden of the famous St. Thomas Hall , Hostel , Madras Christian College, Tambaram  At Madras Christian College Tambaram there were three Hostels namely :-[a] St.Thomas Hall, [b] Bishop Heber Hall, and [c] Selaiyur Hall and among the three hostels  St. Thomas Hall Hostel was considered as the best and students loved to stay at the St Thomas Hall Hostel. . Dr. M.A. Thangaraj served an efficacious and caring Warden and won the spontaneous  love and respect of the inmates of the St Thomas Hall Hostel , M.C.C, Tambaram. .It is said that Dr. M.A. Thangaraj  used to play  Tennis with the Students in the evenings.

Then late Mrs Mercy Sonabai , wife of Dr Ebenezer Chellappa FRCS, was serving  as the Correspondent of this School for the Deaf , Manamadurai . After her retirement Ms Deborah Jeevakani  worked with her husband Mr Jeevakani among the Juvenile delinquents and Children from rural areas.  God blessed this beautiful couple with all the conjugal blessings and this couple gave birth to Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss on the 14th April , 1955.

Dr. Jevakani Aruldoss'  Siblings    :   God blessed Mr. Jeevakani and Mrs Deeboral  Jeevakani  couple with all the connubial blessings and this couple gave birth to the following children namely :_ [A] Rev. Augustine, M.A, B.D, and he worked as a Professor at the Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary , Madurai and also he worked as Librarian of T.T.S, Madurai,.and he married Ms Angeline and she worked as PG Teacher and retired as Head Mistress of Government Higher Secondary School and this couple is blessed with the  following children namely:- [1] Ms. Agatha Christina, B.P.T. and she married Mr Stephen and he is working in Dubai , and this couple gave birth to the  following children namely :-[a] Mr. Isaac and he is doing M.D in Geogia  [b] Ms Agnus and [c] Ms Maria  [B] Ms. Anita , B.E, and she married Mr Nava Jeevan, B.E and this couple is working in USA as Software Engineers and this couple is blessed with the following children namely:- [a] Ms Jenica , [b] Mr. Jenil ; [C] Ms. Sironmani and she worked in a CSI Middle School and she married Rev. Christopher Arulraj and this couple gave birth to the following children namely ;-[a]Ms Nancy and she married Mr. Elwis and this couple's son Mr Don Thomas is studying in a College, [b] Mr. Sam Jefrey Srinivasaham  and he is working as a PG Teacher in Madurai, and he married Ms. Hema and she is also is working as a PG Teacher in a C.S.I. Matriculation Higher Secondary School Madurai  and this couple's daughter Dr. Jenifer , B.D.S  has married Mr. Lenin, B.E, [c] Ms Mercy Grace and she works as a Teacher in a CSI Middle School and she married Mr. Mahesh and he is doing business [ Travel] and this couple gave birth to the following children namely ;-{a] Mr. Biju and he is doing B.L  [b] Ms . Siju and she is doing her B.C.S .[D] Prof. Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss, M.A, B.D, M.Phil, Ph.D, [ He is the Hero of this Article]. 

Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss's Educational Track    :  Dr. J. Aruldoss started his educational track in Palayamkottai . He did his 1st and 2 Std at the famous  Sarah Tucker CSI Primary School at Palayam kottai and pursued his 3rd Std, 4th Std , 5th Std and Middle school studies at the CSI Middle School at Mana Madurai . Then he did his 9th Std and 10th Std at the O.V.C. High School at Mana Madurai and did his S.S.L.C. [ 11th Std] at the famous CSI  High School at Pasumalai and passed his S.S.L.C. in the year 1971. . He did his P.U.C. at the American College Madurai [ 1971--1972], . He pursued his B.A [ English literature ] at the American College Madurai . After having passed his B.A he did his M.A, B.D [ 1976 to 1980 -- Five Years course ] at the Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary, Madurai  and he passed  M.A, B.D ,with good marks . Then he did his M.Phil [Education.. 1980-- 1981 ] at the Madurai Kamaraj University and passed his M.Phil meritoriously . In line with his natural thirst for knowledge  he did his Ph.D [ Religion and Philosophy] in the Madurai Kamaraj University and he was awarded his Ph.D in the year 2011. Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss did his D.Min in the Serampore University and he was awarded his D.Min degree [ Doctor of Ministry] in the year 2021..

Dr. J. Aruldoss's Professional Track  First Phase        : In the year 1981, Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss joined the famous American College Madurai as Assistant Professor of Ethical Studies and worked for one year [ 1981--1982 ].Then he joined the Rural Theological Institute and worked as Project in Charge for one year [ 1982-1983] Then he joined the famous Association for Sarva Seva Farms [ ASSEFA ] and worked as Project in Charge for nearly two years  [1983- 1985]..

Dr. Jevvakani Aruldoss' wedding       : Dr. Jeevakani  Aruldoss married Ms Kurubaikumari on 14th July 1983 in Madurai . Mrs Kirubaikumari Aruldoss' father Mr. John Jesudason  originally hailed from the famous Idaiyankudi [ Bishop Robert Caldwell lived in this Village and served] in Thirunelveli  District . Long time ago Mrs. Kirubaikumari's forefathers  moved to Srilanka  and her father Mr. John Jesudason served as an Airport Fire Officer in Kantunayake Airport in Sri Lanka .Mrs Kirubaikumari wanted to do the Lord's Ministry and so  she came to Tamil Nadu and did her B.D in the Tamilnadu Theological Seminary Madurai. and during this period Mr. Jeevakani  Aruldoss was  doing his M.A, B.D, in T.T.S Madurai/and  they met each other in the T.T.S .and  they were mutually attracted towards each other and that acquaintance  in due course of time connected them as Husband and Wife.  Currently Mrs. Kirubai Kumari Aruldoss is working as an ordained Pastor in the C.S.I.  Madurai Ramnad Diocese with great devotion and she also serves as the Secretary of the Diocesan Women's  fellowship  with great distinction

Dr.  Jeevakani Aruldoss and Mrs. Kirubai Kumari Aruldoss Couple's Children   : God blessed Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss and Mrs Kirubaikumari Aruldoss with all the connubial blessings and this lovely couple gave birth to the following children namely :_[A] Ms. Berach Padmini , B.Sc, M.B.A, M.S.W, M.C.S, and she serves as the Secretary to the Chairman and Managing Director , Hannah Joseph Hospital, Madurai and she married Mr. Melvin Gomes, M.A, [Social Work] and he is working as an Executive in the  M.S..Chellamuthu Trust and Research  Foundation, Madurai and this couple is blessed with the following children namely ;- [1] Mr. Austin Joshua Gomes , [B] Mr. Wesley Jeeva Dhason , M.E,  and  has submitted his Ph.D. Thesis  and waiting for his Viva and he has married Ms Suba Dev Sountheri, M.Sc [Psychology], M.Ed and she works as  Clinical  Psychologist and Special Educator in Jeeva  Matriculation Hr Secondary School , Madura,; and this couple is blessed with the following children namely :_[a] Ms. Naralya , [b] Mr. Lamuel  Jeremiah , [C] Mr.Julian Sathiyathason , M,C.A, M.C.S, M.A[ Philosopy], and  has submitted his Ph.D. .Thesis [ Madurai Kamaraj University ] and is waiting for the results and he married Ms Mabel Esther , B.E[ Civil]  and [D] Mr Benjamin Asir Dason, M.E, and he married Ms Dr. Anithra Abarnamathy, B.D.S, and this couple is blessed with the following children namely ;-[1] Mr. Aaldrin Gabriel [4 years old]

Dr. Jeevakani Aruldos's Professional track  Second Phase      :In the year 1986 Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss  again joined the famous American College Madurai as a Teaching Staff and he served as Associate Professor in the Department of Religion and Philosophy from 1986 to 2013 with great efficacy and distinction . Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss served as the Head of the Department of Religion and Philosophy, in American college from 2006 to 2013 with great devotion and efficiency..Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss served as the  Chaplain of the Madurai American College from 1998 to 2006 .  Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss was promoted as  Vice Principal of the  Madurai American College in 2011 and he served as Vice Principal till 2013 with great enthusiasm, decorum, dignity  and efficacy . He retired from American College in May 2013. 

Conclusion   : Dr. Jeevakani Pruldoss is a remarkable man , Teacher and Preacher. He is a multifaceted personality . He was /is a great Student, Philosopher, Educationist and refined Man . He is a great Social Thinker and he cares for the least, lost and last with compassion. Education should reach all the unreached people is one of his main goals in life  . Helping the needy is an inherent trait of him  and this trait, he inherited  from his mother and father. He was a sincere Christian pastor. and he was ordained as an Honorary Presbyter on the 16th June , 2022 by the Madurai and Ramdad CSI Diocese Rt. Rev. M. Joseph.. Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss had the privilege and honour to serve as  a Visiting Fellow of the United College of Ascension, Selly Oak, Burmingham, UK , [1996--1997 ] Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss worked as Finance Officer at the TTS for one year [ 2014- 2015] .Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss also served as  Correspondent of the Chandler CSI Matriculation Hr Secondary School, Madurai from 2013 to 2020 with great distinction and devotion .He loves music and while he was a student in the Madurai American College he was College Choir Member. . He is a great Social Thinker and strives to bring and establish  equality  fraternity and justice among his fellow human beings. . God has kindly blessed his family life  with all the blessings promised in  Psalm 128.  While he was a student in the American College Madurai, the famous Physicist  Dr. M.A. Thankarj, M.Sc, Ph.D, was the Principal of the Madurai American  College.. He had the privilege to visit Germany, England, South Korea, Thailand, and Sri Lanka .It is not at all possible to cover all chapters, aspects , and accomplishments of Dr. Jeevakani Aruldoss within the space of this Article .
