A Remarkable Achiever, Innovative Thinker, Visionary and Outstanding Nurse Practitioner [ USA ] Shri. V. Varaprabhu Dhas, Part A

Introduction;  Dynamic and outstanding  Nurse Practitioner Shri V.Varaprabhu Dhas [ Mr. V.P. Dhas ] is a shining Indian American who at present lives in , Jamesville, Newyork, USA,  was born during 1940s, in Kanaykumari District and his paternal grand-parents were living at a scenic  sub urban locality, located on the north western side of Nagercoil town, Tamil Nadu, India. His remarkable  career jump from Nagercoil to United States of America via Bahrain  really arrests our attention and rises our admiration for him.  No doubt his innovative thinking, relentless will to come up, his  hard work, enviable placements of his children,  etc, really have placed him at an enviable place among the achievers of Indian Americans  .His professional and personal track of accomplishment will definitely inspire and galvanize many youngsters and readers with positive motivation and brainstorms.  Mr. V. Varaprabhu Dhas also has a beautiful pucca house at the heart of Nagercoil Town, near Women's Christian College , Nagercoil.

His Birth and Parents and Siblings: Many decades ago there lived a blessed couple by name Shri. Paramanantham and Mrs Pachamma Paramanantham in a beautiful  sub urban locality, located on the north west of Nagercoil town, in Kanyakumari District. Tamil Nadu . And  Mr. Paramanantham begat  Mr. Veeramony the father of Mr V. Varaprabhu Dhas through his wife Ms Pachamma Paramanantham.  . Mr P.Veeramani  and his beloved and beautiful wife Mrs Deivayi Veeramani  were blessed with  two smart sons namely [1] Mr. Varaprabhu Dhas and [2]  Mr Peter Dhas.  Mr V. Varaprabhu Dhas was born on 8 th October , 1942 in Kanyakuamri district, India.  Mr Peter Dhas died, comparatively at an young age .

V. Varaprabhu Dhas and his education and early professional career:  After his successful High School Studies [SSLC ], Mr. V. Varaprabhu Dhas did his Diploma in Nursing Course [ 3 Years Course ] at the famous Catherine Booth Hospital  , Nagercoil [ 1962 Year Batch ]. after having successfully completed his Diploma in Nursing Mr. V.P Dhas joined the prestigious  Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Tuberculosis Sanatorium at Sengipatti near Thanjavur City, Tamilnadu. as a Nursing Staff . He efficaciously worked at the Sengipatti  Govt Sanatorium, for some  years and afterwards in tune with his visionary planning he moved to Bahrain  and joined as Nursing staff at the prestigious Salmania Medical Complex, situated at Salmania in Manama District, Kingdom of Bahrain  [ Ministry of Health,  ] With his brilliance, creative smartness and honest  devotion to his duty  Mr. V.P.Dhas won the heart and admiration of Ms Murphy, the then Director of Nursing, Ministry of Health, Government of Bahrain .  However  in 1978 Mr. Varaprabhu Dhas left  his nursing job and the Kingdom of Bahrain and moved to USA, with his family in tune with his vision.

Dr. Jobe Prabakar and His Educational Trajectory :  Dr. Jobe Prabakar is a brilliant man and is having a brilliant and coveted  educational career , he did his High School and Higher Secondary School education at the famous Sethupathy Higher Secondary School, Madurai; and with very high marks he passed his Plus Two examination in the year 1980. He did his B.,Sc  {Physics and Chemistry ]  and MSc [ Physics] at the prestigious Madura College, Madurai and passed his B.Sc in the year 1983 meritoriously and M Sc  in 1985 with flying colors. In the year 1985 he joined as Assistant Professor at the Physics department of Tranquebar Bishop Manikam Lutheran College Porayar . Shri Jobe Prabakar did his M. Phil study on part time basis at TBML College and passed his M. Phil in 1992. As an intelligent  student he won the prestigious Indian National Overseas Scholarship and went to Australia  in 1997 and did his PhD at the famous  University of Wollongong  , in New South Wales , Australia and  successfully completed his PhD research study on December 2000.

His wife and children:  Dr. Jobe married Ms. Amutha , M.Sc, a daughter of a great organist late Mr Masillamani and Mrs Puranam Masillamani  of Nagercoil and Dr. Jobe and Amutha Jobe couple is blessed with one smart son by name Joshua Chelliah.  Joshua Chelliah did  his B.E, in Electrical and Electronics Engineering [ 2011-2015]  at Karunya University , Coimbatore. and pursued   his MS in Computer Control and Automation [2015-2016] at the internationally acclaimed Nanyang Technological University, in Singapore .   Now he is working in Singapore in a reputed Company .

Dr Jobe Prabakar's Professional career  ; After having successfully completed his Ph.D  [ Physics --Semi Conductor], in December 2000 Dr. Jobe Prabakar  returned to India  from Australia and joined the Tranquebar Bishop Manikam Lutheran College , Porayar. in 2001 as Assistant Professor ; afterwards  there was no turning back. . Since 2009  Dr. Jobe Prabakar has been working as Associate Professor and   Head of the Physics Department [HOD] at TBML college, Porayar, Nagapattinam Dist, in an enviable manner .   Nearly 3000 students are studying in the TBML college, Porayar , currently. From undergraduate courses like B.A., B.Sc upto PhD  level Research courses are offered in this college.

International Conferences  attended  and  Research Papers presented  and Projects done by him  : Dr . Jobe Prabakar is a great Researcher and Scholar he has attended many International Seminars and  Conferences and had presented Research Papers in those international conference daises. To cite  a few example I can say and write  that he attended a Conference at  the globally accredited University of Montipelier, South France and presented a research Article  It is pertinent to remember  here that the famous and renowned Astrologer Mr. Nostradamus was an alumnus of this famous University of Montipelier . Dr. Jobe Prabakar has also presented Research Papers at the seminar held at the famous Charles Sturt University, Australia.  Dr Jobe Prabakar has done a Minor Research Project sponsored by the  UGC, India  [2004- 2006]. His Research Articles have been published in internally reputed Journals like , Solid State Communications-- -Journal.  Currently he has been doing a three and a half lac rupees worth Project , "Non Linear Optical Crystals"  and this interesting Project is likely  to be completed shortly. 

Conclusion: Dr. Jobe Prabakar is an extraordinary man . His profile is really an inspiration to the students, researchers and teachers.  From a very humble lower middle class family background  he has reached an enviable height in education and intellectual accomplishment  by his perseverance , will to achieve , and relentless hard work . He is a balanced person,  he is a good human being, a good son to his parents,  brother to his siblings , husband to his wife and father to his son and teacher to his students  and so on.. He loves Physics and teaching Physics; and his art of teaching Physics is really laudable..  many of his old students are serving as College and university teachers both in India and abroad. An Assistant Professor of Physics at Scott Christian college, Nagercoil, by name Mrs.Premila Anandh was one of Dr.Jobe Prabakar's M. Phil students at TBML College , Porayar ;and she  has commented on Dr. Jobe Prabakar, as follows, " A great man known for his simplicity, skills in teaching physics and above all faithful christian ".  Yes Dr. Jobe Prabakar  is a great man, honest, simple, colorful and creative and  definitely he has achieved greatness in his life. Dr. Jobe Prabakar is definitely one of the remarkable Sons-in law of Kanyakumari District. and a shimmering and valuable milestone in the educational and social history of Tamil Nadu 

His Parents and Birth ;  Shri. Dr. Jobe Prabakar's grandparents originally hailed from Chinnamanur town, and Chinnamanur lies  on the beautiful banks of Mullai river  in Theni District, Tamilnadu.   From Chinnamanur  his grandparents moved to Madurai in search of better fields and green pastures to improve their life  and lifestyle. and settled in Madurai City  One Mr Periasamy alias Chelliah , a descendant of this migrated family from Chinamanur  married a beautiful young woman by name  Ms. Grace Margaret and this lovely couple was living in Madurai happily  . Mr. Periasamy and  his wife Grace Margaret Periasamy couple gave birth to a  lovely boy child on 30th October , 1963  and the couple christened this boy child as Jobe Prabakar, the hero of this Article.

Jobe Prabakar's Siblings and families : Mr. Periasamy and Mrs Grace Margaret Periasamy couple gave birth to  four intelligent children namely [1] Dr. Sebastian Rajasekaran , [2] Ms.  Premila Punithavathi , [3] Dr. Jobe Prabakar and [4] Ms. Usha Rani.. Dr. Jobe Prabakar and his siblings are married , blessed and well settled in life. . Mr. Dr.Sebastian Rajasekaran  is a Ph.D degree holder in Botany ; after having worked as an Associate Professor of Botany Department at Bishop Heber College Trichy. , he retired as Vice Principal of Bishop Heber College , Trichy. Dr. Sebastian Rajasekaran and his wife Ms. Vilochini  Sebastian BA, B.Ed ,couple  begot two daughters namely  [1] Ms Rachel , MSW, and [2] Ms Beril , MBA. and they are married and well settled in life. Dr. Jobe's sister Premila Punithavathy worked in the Municpal Administration department, Govt of Tamil Nadu , and retired and her husband Mr Nagarajan  retired as a Sub Registrar ,[ Registration Dept ]and this couple is blessed with two children..  Dr. Jobe Prabakar's younger sister Ms. Usha Rani  and her husband Mr Paul couple is blessed with three smart children .

Dr. Daya's Wife and Children :  : Dr T. Dayanandan Francis married his teacher Mr. C. A. Joseph's  cute daughter. Ms. Padmini on 1960. Ms. Padmini was a qualified teacher, she  did her Teacher Training Education in a Teachers' Training College in Chennai. Dr. T. Dayanandan Francis and his wife Ms Padmini Dayanandan started  their conjugal life in Bangalore and were blessed with  all the connubial blessings .. This blessed couple was blessed with three handsome and smart sons and all of his three sons are well qualified and are working as dedicated Social Workers.

Dr. Daya's Professional Career :   After having  passed his BA [Hons] in 1956 in First class, Dr. Dayanandan Francis  had the privilege to work as a Tamil Lecturer for almost one year at the famous Voorhees College, Vellore during the academic year 1956-1957 till he joined the United Theological College [UTC], Bangalore on 1957. He did his B.D and M.Th Courses  at the famous UTC Bangalore [1957- 1964 ].  In 1964 he had the privilege to work as a Translation Team Member to translate the original New Testament, into Tamil along with Dr. Inbanathan, Prof. VPK and such other Biblical and linguistic scholars .He had the privilege to work as Editor of THODARBU and IRAYIYAL MALAR,. .He was one of the Founders of IRAIYIYAL MALAR .. In 1971 he joined Tamilnadu Theological Colleage, Madurai.as a teaching Staff,. He received his PhD in 1974./ .He worked as a  Professor at the Tamil Nadu Theological College, Madurai [TTC ], from 1971 till 1979. with great dedication and devotion. Then in tune with his inborn and innate literary inclination he joined the Christian Literature Society, Chennai, as its General Secretary in 1979  and  continued as General Secretary of the CLS till his retirement in 2002

His Membership in  Organizations:   Dr. Daya  was a Life Member of NMS and YMCA.. He also had the privilege to work as the General Secretary of the world Christian Tamil  Academy . Along with Mr Sunny Yesudian and Dr, Israel he co founded  an organization called  Nanbar Vattam [Friends Circle ]while he was serving at the TTC Madurai, Dr. Daya conducted many Literary Seminars and Book Review Meetings  and Articles read in those seminars and meetings were later published as books and it is heartening to say here that those books have been prescribed as Text Books in some Universities. Dr. Daya had the privilege to serve as the Vice Chairman of the Association of Christian Publishers and Booksellers in India. He also had the privilege to work as Production Manager [ Programme] at Christian Arts and Communication Centre in Chennai

Some Important Places and Countries visited by Dr. Daya :   Dr Daya took special interest to visit  the birthplaces and missionary fields of pioneer Christian Missionaries and Tamil Christian Poets. He visited Mylaudy [the Birth place of Maharasan Vethamonickam and Christian Poets John Palmer and Devavaram Munishi,] In this context I would like to record the fact that I accompanied Dr. Daya, to Mylaudy along with some Christian friends.   Dr.Daya also visited Sivakasi [Missionary field of Christian Poet Thaveethu Iyer ], Pasumali [ Missionary field of Christian Leader and Poet Rev. V.Santiagu Iyer ], Thirupuvanam , Thiruvannamali [ Missionary Field of Poet V.Masillamani Iyer ], Royapuram [ Missionary field of Mr.Paramanantham Iyer ], Trivandrum [ in search of Poet John Palmear's burial place ] , etc.  He had the privilege to visit Jerusalem  in 1978., St. Peter' Church in  Rome, [1988], Dr. Martin Luther's birth place and his residence in Wittenberg in Germany, etc. and also he had  visited UK , USA and some other countries..

Conclusion :  During his collegiate days Dr. Daya was highly attracted by the ideologies and thoughts  of Periyar EVR and Arinjar. C.N. Anna , and as time passed he became a strong believer in Christ. Dr Daya was a literary man  and a man of letters , he had the privilege to move with many tall Tamil literary personalities and intellectual giants of his time .  Rev CRW . David , Rt. Rev. R. Paul Raj [Tanjore CSI Diocese, Bishop] Artist Jeyaraj were his classmates in Madurai American college  and Prof. Karmehak Konar  and Prof. P. Jothimuth were his Professors  at American College,  He had the  privilege to study under Prof. M Varatharasanar [Mu. VA]  and Prof. Dr. TP. Meenakshisundaranar in Pachayappan Colleage. At TTC, Madurai  he had the privilege to rub shoulders with great Bible scholars like Dr. Samuel Amitham, Dr. Gnana Robinson, and Dr, Dian Chanthkar . Dr.  Daya  was a great Essayist and his essays had been published in magazines like , Vithiyathanam, Malai Mani, Thiravidan, Pore Vazh, Pookoodai , Manai Malar  etc. and Pookoodai  monthy magazine was his literary brain Child . He was an outstanding dramatist . Mr. Vengal Chakkarai Rajasekarn had written a tribute about Dr. Daya in the Hindu as follows, ' The objective should be to use the art as a vehicle of incentive to the artistic exposition of Jesus and his message . The Three Plays written by Dr. T. Dayanandan Francis  viz: "Meetings," 'Stones' and St Thomas in Tamil Land , admirably fulfill the objective [The Hindu , 27-6-89]. In recognition of his life long contribution Tamil Christian literature, Christian Tamil Academy honored Dr. Daya with a Title ,  Kristhava Tamil Kavalar. in 1990, at a gorgeous function presided by Rt. Rev Jacob Jeyaseelan, and the Title was presented to Dr. Daya by the VC of Tanjore Tamil University Dr.C. Balasubramanian.   Dr.T. Dayanandan Francis  died on the 9th June,   2007 and  now Dr. Daya is no more with us but he lives in his writings . It is not possible to confine the height  and dimension of Dr. T. Dayanandan Francis , within the limits of this Article ..

Introduction : Rev.Dr. T. Dayanandan Francis,  a former General Secretary of the Christian Literature Society Chennai, was a colorful and multi-faceted personality . he was a great Thinker, Writer, Author , Theologian, Lyricist and so on. However I think the present world including the Tamil Christians  are not  properly aware of Dr Dayanandan Francis  and his fruitful  and impressive contribution to the cause of Tamil Literature, Tamil Christian Literature , Journalism, Christian Theology etc,. So in this Article I am happily bound to introduce Dr. T.Dayanandan Francis  to the international readers and to the Tamil Christian Community and Indian Christian Community who are residing in various parts of the world. He is popularly known among his Friends and relatives as Dr. Daya  I am happy to remember here that I had the privilege to meet him two times  and also had the privilege to accompany Dr. Daya to Mylaudy along with some Christian friends  to see the historical Mylaudy CSI Church[ Originally Mylaudy LMS Church-, the first Protestant Church in Travancore and also the birth place of the great Tamil Christian Poets Shri . Devavaram Munshi and Shri. John Palmer  ]


                                                  
                                          Rev. Dr. T. Dayanandan Francis, Ph.D, D.Litt,.

His Fore Fathers, Parents and birth  and siblings:  Dr. Daya's  paternal grandpa Mr. Abrahm Ebenezer was a native of  a small village called "Dandukarai"  in South Arcot dist. Dr. Daya's father Mr.E. Tychicus was born at Vellore on 13-4-1903. Mr. E.  Tychicus after successfully completing his collegiate studies at Voorhees college, Velore, continued his theological studies and successfully completed the same. and served as Professor and later as Principal of Arcot Lutheran Theological Seminary , Sainiahapuram ,Vellore . It is pertinent to mention here that, like Rev E Tychicus his brothers Rev. Titus Ebenezer and Rev Yesudasan Ebenezer also served as Pastors. Rev. E. Tychicus married a modest and beautiful lady by name Ms. Grace Rajammal on 21st September 1931. Rev. E Tychicus and Mrs Grace Rajammal Tychicus couple was blessed with three sons and three daughters.  Dr . T Dayanandan Francis was born on 14th August 1932 at Ranipet. All of them were/are well settled in their respective life, it will useful to mention the fact that the famous Music Composer and  Lyricist Dr. Bakthan  Tychucus is  Dr. Daya's younger brother .

Dr T. Daya's Education: Dr Daya was a brilliant student since his childhood days.  After his School education at Voorhees High School ,Vellore  Dr. Daya  did his  Intermediate studies [FA ] at the famous American College, Madurai  [1950-1952 ] After having passed his Intermediate [FA] examination meritoriously he got admission at  the famous Pachayappan college, Chennai in 1953[ [1953-1956]  with the guidance of late Shri C. A. Joseph [ His future father-in-law] for his BA [ Hons- Tamil Litt ]  Dr. Daya got the best educational privilege to have great Tamil Scholars like Dr Mu Va as his Tamil Professors. at Pachayappa College , Chennai .  In tune with God's calling and his Parents' guidance and desire he joined the famous United Theological College for his BD [ Bachelor of divinity] in 1957. and continued his Theological Higher studies at UTC , Bangalore [ 1957- 1964 ] At UTC he had the privilege to study under world famous Thelogians like Dr. Paul D. Devanandan ,Dr, E. C. John and some others.   In tune with his thirst for knowledge he did his Ph.D in Linguistics and received his PhD on 1974. Dr. Daya also had the privilege to pursue his post Doctoral studies at the University of London , UK  and also in Serampur University, .

Daniel Packianathan Dhas and his  Wife :- Mr. Daniel Packianathan Dhas, M.A, M.Ed, has  married  Ms,Ruby , a daughter of his maternal uncle Mr. Devadhas  from Kanyakumari District . Ms Ruby Dhas is also a visionary Educationist like her husband  . Actually Ms. Ruby Dhas  was mainly responsible for the founding of the St Savio Matriculaltion and Higher Secondary School at Velacheri, Chennai  in 1987.. Since 1987 she has been serving as the Principal of St Savio Matriculation and HS School, Velacheri in an efficacious manner till  her retirement recently and now she is working as the Senior Principal and Consultant of the School. Under her wise guidance the St Savio Matric  H.S.School has been standing  as one of the best Schools in  Velacheri area ,Chennai.

Mr.Daniel Packianathan Dhas and his children:- Sri Daniel Packianathan  Dhas and his wife  Ms. Ruby Dhas couple is blessed with two smart and intelligent daughters namely:[1] Ms. Shirley Ann, M.A M.Ed, M.Phil, M.S [School Management],. and [2] Ms. Pamela Johnson , M.Sc, M.Ed, M. Phil, M.S[ School Management].  Currently Ms Shirley Ann is working as the Principal of the St Savio Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Velacheri  in an efficient and enviable  manner; of course  with the support and  guidance of her efficient parents. Shirley's son has meritoriously passed his B.E and trying to pursue his MS in USA.
.Mr Dhas's second daughter Ms. Pamela  is married to Mr. Johnson , B.E, MBA [US] and she is living with her husband and children  in US. Mr Johnson is working as  Vice President [Technology ] at the famous Bank of America, US, and Mr Johnson and Ms Pamela John couple is blessed with three smart daughters .

Introduction ; Sri. Daniel Packianathan Dhas , M.A, M.Ed, M.Phil, M.Th,. is really a great visionary educationist and efficacious  teacher and his untiring service for the cause of education really deserves our appreciation and recognition. He is not only a great teacher but also a co-founder of a famous educational institution called St Savio Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Velacheri , Chennai.   I always appreciate the founders of educational Institutions  for I consider the educational service is the best service . Definitely his profile will inspire and motivate  the readers to lead a meaningful life and become achievers in life.

His Birth and Parents : Some time ago in Nagercoil there lived a blessed couple by name Shri S.P. Daniel and Mrs. Abranam Daniel, and this blessed couple gave birth to a smart male child on 15th November 1941 and this couple christened that boy child  with a blessed name  Packinanathan Dhas.


Mr Packianathan Dhas's Siblings/ and their families  ;- Shri. S.P.Daniel and  his beloved wife Mrs Abranam Daniel . were blessed with four  lovely daughters and three  smart sons namely ;[1] Ms. D.Esther, [2] Ms. D.Jannet ,[3] Ms. D..Pushpa, [4] Mr D.Packianathan Dhas, [5] Mr.D. Albert , [6] Ms.D. Charlet and [7] Mr.D. Bennet. All of his siblings have been blessed by God and to cite some examples,I will high light the profiles of some of his siblings. Mr D, Packianathan Dhas's  eldest sister Mrs. Esther Isaac Ponniah, M.A, M.Ed, served in the education department, Govt of Tamilnadu   for many years and retired as Head Mistress of the Government Higher Secondary School, Bhoothapandi, KK dist.. Mrs Esther's husband late Mr Isaac Ponniah, M.A, M.Ed  also retired as Head Master of Government Higher Secondary School , Korahiyarai,[ Some Historians claim that Korathiyarai was the birth place of the great Tamil Poet Thiru Valluvar..]. Mr Packinathan Dhas's brother Mr, Albert  married Ms. Ramani [ a daughter of late Mr. Nallathambi, who retired as Additional  Secretary, the Government of Kerala state]. Mr D Albert  served in the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India and retired as Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts.  Mr. Albert and his wife Mrs Ramani Albert  are blessed with one intelligent son by name Mr. Arun Albert , B.E, MBA and a beautiful daughter by name Ms Anitha Vinod.

Mr. D. Packianathan Dhas's education;   Mr D. Packianathan Dhas did his High School Studies at the famous S.M.S.M High School , Suchindrum , Agastheeswaram taluk, KK Dist . He continued his education and did his PUC and B.A ,degree  collegiate education at the famous Scott Christian College , Nagercoil . He did his MA[ Economics ] at the famous University of Pune . Mr D.P. Dhas did his B.Ed and M.Ed at the prestigious Madras University He also did his M. Phil at the University of Madras.. In tune with his inner urge, Shri D. Packiananthan Dhas did his M.Th course on part time basis , at the  Dallas Bible Seminary , Dallas , USA.  His quest for knowledge is really appreciable and laudable. In short  we can call Mr. D. Packianthandhas is a man of letters. and vast learning.
